When it comes to quality and integrity this school...

When it comes to quality and integrity this school is all about SMOKE & MIRRORS!! Herron was a complete joke in academic, extracurricular, social and moral integrity. After noticing the negative impact the school had on our son (a quiet obedient honor student) we removed him in the middle of his JUNIOR year and sent him to Pike High with absolutely NO REGRETS!!! In his own words he stated, "I could get an A in any class without trying." That from a kid who took the same classes his first semester at Pike and struggled. Yet he recovered and placed fourth in his grad class in total scholarship monies offered at exceeding $500,000. Herron's scores are inflated because students are allowed to RETAKE tests they FAIL or perform poorly on.The clubs and bands were a compete joke. Our son attended the "photography club" and never owned a camera or took a picture. He was first chair (Alto Sax) in the ADVANCED JAZZ BAND and by his own admission NEVER practiced. They have a uniform policy, but most of the kids look like they sleep, eat and wrestle in their clothes. BEWARE!!! DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT believe the HYPE or the stories of those who choose to turn a blind eye to these and other pertinent issues at this joke of a school. STAY AWAY!!!

Absolutely fantastic experience! The community is like a strange family. The teachers are very caring and always wanting you to succeed. Choosing to go to Herron is one of the best choices I've ever made. I've graduated high school with an amazing education and awesome memories.

The school is a wonderful liberal arts school with a great musical and visual arts programs. Herron High School is not an art school or just artsy people, it is a college preparatory school that allows students to get ahead and become well-rounded people for college and society. This school is open to all kinds of students with no judgment. Herron even offers AP Classes and dual credit courses (college course) to freshmen students which allows students in all grades to earn college credit so they don't have to take that course in college. This fine establishment is run by the esteemed Head of School, Janet McNeal. Herron not only provides promising education for students, but fine teachers who generally love to teach and build great student-teacher relationships with students to better their education and high school experience. Herron High School is a charter school.
