Loved this tour. Loved the tour guide as well. Told some interesting stories about Ernest Hemingway.

Went mid-day, find a time with fewer people, but without Covid it wouldn't have been an issue. Just crowded. It was great.
It was worth the price. The cats are super cool. Definitely take the tour, it makes it quite worth it! Impressive and a good to do in key west.
A very different than Duval street feel for key West
Great place for history buffs. Lots of things to see. Gorgeous Hemingway house. Beautiful gardens to roam.
Highly recommend the Hemingway House tour, super educational and fun. The property is also gorgeous.
Can't beat all the cats running around. Loved the tour as well.
A very famous touring spot. Too many opportunities lined up to get in. Can't comment without enough experience. It looks a place to be explored more in the future.
Great place with lots of history! Definitely worth it! Not as many cats as there were last time I visited but there are still plenty!!
Wonderful museum to walk thru with guide, estimate 45-75 mins depending on how much detail you want. Guided tour probably ~35-45 mins. Tons of photos, memorabilia such as Hemingway's typewriters, etc. Six toed cats are all over house & grounds... Tour guide gave treats if you wanted to feed them. Small book/gift shop, restrooms. Tour is both in & outside. Inside has A/C, but doors are always being opened. Lots of fans helps stay cooler. Short walk from Olde Towne Trolley stops#5 , maybe 3 blocks(?) on sidewalks.
This was a fun stop in Key West. Our guide was a lot of fun. The house and cats are near, but the grounds are more interesting to explore.
Great place to learn Hemingway s life in Key West! A lot of six toe cats!
Nice lighthouse, it is not free, there is a free to go upstairs
The guided tour was good, very interesting to hear the stories about Hemingway and his life in Key West. The house itself is very well preserved, and I love how there was a bookstore with his work! Also a great place for cat lovers!
Super interesting place to visit to get a glimpse on the life of Hemingway. Worth attending the guided tour. The house itself is well worth the visit !
Beautiful house very nice to visit and you can see a lot of happy cute cats.
Wonderful tour. Lots of information. I felt like I actually knew him by the time the tour was over.
It is as majestic a setting as anyone brought up having read Hemingway novels would expect. So many aspects of his life that touched so many parts of the world. Besides the physical presence his home and belongings bring to us, his caring naturing way with cats( many are offspring from his originals )is still present in the 57 felines living on the property. Truly something not to be missed while in Key West.
Beautiful house, had a great guided tour about 20 to 30 minutes long. Tour guide Alisa was terrific. She made the tour fun and interactive. I would recommend her tour. She's great with the young kids. Her narrative is so good you can imagine yourself there.
Beautifully kept and fun to explore even in the summer.
Historically interesting place ... but you have to pay to cross the gate ... for those who like the writer a good request ...
Fascinating place, guided tour recommended for tales of Hemingway and all those cats who now "own the place". The little yellow and green structure is one of the cat houses seen around the grounds. The cats are resting on Hemingway's bed.
Cool place to visit. Make sure you take a guided tour
Beautiful home but I spent my whole four hours sitting with all kinds of cats that had thumbs. It was the best day ever.
We loved the museum as we both learned a lot! Pictures are of the lighthouse a block down the street, another must see!
A museum that you must visit while in Key West. It is good to have one hour and a half reserved for visiting the house and garden. ATTENTION Tickets only for cash. You can not pay by card. About 50 cats live in the house and garden, including many famous six-breasted animals. It is worth visiting a house with a guide which is included in the ticket price. Interestingly, the owners of the house are still descendants of Hamingway. This is where most of his works were made. I would highly recommend. It's worth to park for free at Fort Street, which is rare in Key West. From the parking lot 10 minutes walk to the museum.
Well-preserved historical home. Our tour guide, MJ, was very entertaining. The cats do have polydactyly, and there is a urinal from the local bar that has been converted into part of a fountain.
A beautiful home, well worth the tour. And there are 50+ cats on the grounds.
Hemingway's home. Admission is expensive, but good explanation. There's still a lot of cats and six toes. It's great to visit Keywest.
Cannot miss this...even if you're not a Hemingway fan. The architecture is beautiful and furnishings as well. Pure key west charm
Excellent guided tour with knowledgeable staff, well worth the visit.
Take the tour with Alisa! She makes the home come to life and has an amazing personality, my mom and I laughed till we cried! Beautiful home worth the 14$ to see and learn some funny and amazing history!

Cats and Hemmingway. It doesn t get much better than this.
Such a beautifully interesting place. Well worth the stop. Make sure your camera is fully charged!
Colonial house with magnificent garden. Also used for weddings ... Here the cats have 6 fingers, descendants from the cats of the well-known writer .. Interior has not surprised me so much ..
Although all tours are currently self guided due to the pandemic, we found the Hemingway House to be a good spot for lovers of history, literature, and felines. For real: there are 59 cats on property and they are definitely a focal point of the experience. The house is air-conditioned making it a great escape from the island heat. The second-story wraparound porch has unparalleled views of the Key West Lighthouse. Please note, elements of the home s exterior and interior require walking up and down stairs
Very interesting place, with all the atmosphere of those days when Hemingway used to live there.
You can join a tour, or you can get a paper describing every room of the house, available in multiple foreign languages. It's actually the first place who provides translation to so many languages. Very nice.
I have not been a fan of Hemingway's stories or movies but I thoroughly enjoyed this visit. The house is beautiful and originally maintained with original furniture and his writing room intact. We had a fantastic tour guide and the cats are always interesting. Hemingway's life was full of Scandal and all the juicy bits are included in the tour. The polydactyl cats are very well taken care of, super spoiled, and fun to watch. Each of the 57 cats currently there are named and a vet visits daily. The tour is cash only, was about $14 but I think well worth the visit.
Beautiful Historic home in a beautiful place. A must visit spot when you come to Key West. The tour was very informative and the guide was very entertaining.
This tour was better than I expected. Doug, our tour guide, was great. Just don't have any crying children around, he has very little patience for that.
This was a nice place to visit and see the 6 toed cats and learn about Hemingway.
Fascinating! Lots of cats! Incredible pictures of Hemingway at various ages
Ernest Hemingway's home is no different than the others around. Pure tourist spot. Often closed because they regularly host wedding ceremonies. The place is atmospheric.
Very friendly staff and great access to the house and grounds.
The tourguide was so knowledgeable and kept your attention
You can come and go around the guided tour. The lot seems small but is very large. His home is in mint condition. Cats still live all over the property and are friendly. I really loved walking around and seeing this. It's a must for the Key West Experience!
The Hemingway house is a must-see in Key West! It was my favorite attraction on the entire island. You re able to do a self tour through the entire house (with lots of written anecdotes posted as well as many authentic photos and furniture items) plus walk through the gardens, the pool area, and the guest house/writing room.
The gardens were especially beautiful. They re very well manicured and the breeze is just amazing. We loved seeing the cats everywhere and even got to play with some of the younger kittens. The price is so reasonable since you can easily spend hours here! There are also bathrooms available and super cute things in the gift shop. Highly recommend!
In my visit to Key West I had opportunity to check out the Hemingway Home.
It was such a wonderful experience, the lady in charge of our tour was so nice and I learned so many things to her.
I definitely recommend you to do this activity and it s not that expensive. The cost per person is $16 for adults and you can always park on the street paying on with credit card or coins.
After the tour you can walk around the entire house, take pictures or simply relax in the gardens or by the pool!
Fantastic! Everything is perfectly maintained, the kittens have a fantastic job! Beautiful everything !!
If you like Hemmingway you'll enjoy the history of this place, personally we went for the cats which were cute.
Really fun place. The tour is great and the kitties are cute too!
Cat lovers dream! With over 54 resident 6 toes cats on the property, you will have no problem making multiple friends while learning the history of the house.
Nice place, good tour, fun to pet the Hemingway cats.
We never tour here because the lines are always ridiculous. It looks like it has one of the largest yards on this part of the island from the many times I have walked around and near here.
Such a cool place to visit while in Key West. We especially enjoyed seeing all of the kitties :)
Beautiful house, nice cats, nice garden, lot of history.
It is a much better experience once you wait for a guided tour to hear all the stories from Hemingway's life
Fourth time there and service is always pleasant. Wonderful history and love the cats!
Great experience and tour guide! Learned a lot and was very entertaining. Beautiful home! Time well spent!
Really cool historical site. Awesome items and stories from hemingway's life and super friendly kitties! One apparently has a regular spot on the bed because mom says it was there the last time she went too. Got to hear a couple of stories from the tour guides, but the groups were fairly large and we wanted to set our own pace so we could see the rest of key west in time to get back to our ship. Highly recommended.
In my mind this is the number one must see tourist site in Key West. It just has a wonderful vibe and is relatively inexpensive compared with most things that you can do in the Keys. And then there's the historical aspect of it which involves far more than just Ernest Hemingway.
We had a very entertaining guide so we really enjoyed the tour. Not a great deal to see but recommended if you re here for a short time/don t have the opportunity to return again soon.
