I will never use this company ever again!
I called since I had 2 dimmer switches that weren't working, and would like them to come out and fix. They were busy, they said if I gave them a credit card number that they would fit us in as soon as possible, but that it would be 2-3 weeks before they could put us in their schedule.
The appt came. I was at work but my son was home to greet them.
I got a call at work from Robin the electrician. She said she just finished the dining room, that it was not an electrical problem just a bad switch that was the problem. She said she replaced it and it's working now. Come to find out she DIDNT replace it with the same dimmer type she replaced it with a regular on/off switch. I asked her why? Why not replace with the same type that is already there? She said she didn't have dimmer switches with her. I told her I don't want to go from dimmer switches back to on/off switches.
I said that there is a Lowe's just down the hill. I told her that I didn't want the family room on anything but a dimmer. She reluctantly agreed to go to Lowes and get a dimmer switches. (Big of her huh?)
For replacing 2 light switches they charged me $285.00.
I thought that was too much for not getting what I wanted (both dimmer switches replaced with dimmer switches).
I called the Heil office the next day. I explained the switch issue. They said they could come out and replace the one they did, with a dimmer switch but that they would have to charge me $158. The office lady was so rude and actually argued with me, I couldn't believe it. She said when I called.. I said switches, not dimmer switches and that's what they did. This was not true I told her....she continued to argue and be defensive with me. I told her to have her boss call me. Several days later he did. After explaining, he refunded $50. He gave no "sorry for the misunderstanding" or anything. Seemed annoyed as the office lady was.
So much for customer service, and what happened to "The customer is always right", or working with your customer to make it right?.
It was a terrible, frustrating experience, and the way they treat their customers I will never use them or recommend them! Fortunately mine was a small job.
