Requested a Tall electric water heater from Home D...
Requested a Tall electric water heater from Home Depot (was looking at two), and rude (Amanda) at Heaton said they were out of stock; thought she meant the 55 gallon. So I said I'll take the 50 gallon. Installer who was amazing, shows up. Pulls a tall out of his truck (I'm thinking that's it) and I come out half an hour or so later, he's putting in a low, fat gray water heater (not anything like my old one and definitely not the one off his truck.) I asked him about it; said is that a medium? He says yes. At this point he's 90 percent of the way finished. Not sure what to do as this was not what we expected. Anyway, long story short, he finishes 20 minutes later; hubby comes home from emergency vet visit, and he's like this is not replacing identical to what we had. Looks terrible (the unit...not the install), and we're losing space in the closet. Plus we have a 12 foot ceiling and it requires a tall. We call Heaton, told them we need the tall; they said well we told you it was out of stock, and I said not the gladiator but the other Tall. It was in stock at another Home Depot not far from where we are. She was rude, dismissive, and relayed they would have to charge us $700 to exchange/install (on top of the 1850 we paid them today). Now, I mean, maybe $100, but $700 for something that happened with a miscommunication from both side, they just want the money; NOT customer service. Told my installer Jayden he's great, but the company does not get the credit for his hard work. They did ZERO for us. Reached out to Home Depot and waiting for response. Just head's up what kind of people you're dealing with this company dispatch. Rude, dismissive, and absolutely could not care less. Even said so. Don't forget their name, HEATON.
