Thank you to all the staff in the Covid-19 unit who cared for my mother during her stay!! You all are true heroes who give endlessly of yourselves! A special thank you goes out to Emily Wallace for her medical assistance and more importantly for her unyielding support! God bless all of you !!!!

My Mom has been here for a month now. And the staff has been 100% in my opinion. From the helpful Helga at the front desk, to the Nurses in the back, to the office staff. Everyone is helpful. Even my Mom likes the Nurses who are amazingly calm & patient with her. The facilities are nice and clean. And I like all the trees and landscaping outside, where you can sit with your Elderly loved ones if you like. My only suggestion to Hearthstone would be to add a Notary Public to the staff to make it easier when you have legal paperwork to be signed.

Hearthstone has always been flagship health center in our community and I have always had the utmost confidence in their ability to execute the discharge plans we design from Round Rock Medical Center! I would send my grandmother here without a doubt!

Do not send your loved one to this place. They cannot be reached, don t return calls, and straight-up lie. They basically forced my mother to be discharged saying she was mobile . Not only can she not even stand on her own but was allowed to spend 3 weeks there laying in the bed. She was supposed to be getting physical and other therapy, instead she lost too much weight, is not eating, has bed sores and nothing was shared with the family along the way. Now she is too weak and frail to probably ever recover. Seems she was basically neglected the entire time there. Much worse now than when taken there. Disgraceful!

My father has been placed in this place against his will by his previous nursing home. He was sent there to quarantine and be taken care of. The day I called to get answers and updates, the nurse in charge wouldn t listen to my questions and pleas. She literally let me waiting on the phone for over an hour, that I just hung up. All their meals are late and super cold; my father has no appetite as it is , much less with cold food. When he is taken to dialysis services, the nurse is supposed to prepare him with an ointment on his arm, and she never did; my dad was in agony because of this . Also, my dad is diabetic and given the late meals circumstances, his blood sugar levels might drop dangerously. If something happens to my dad, I hold Hearthstone Nursing and Rehabilitation center accountable. Nothing has been done right ever since my dad landed in this horrible place .

Such a great place. Ever since the new company took over Hearthstone I have seen so much improvement. There isn't anymore Agency, Everyone is such an amazing team there. I'd definitely have my parents live here. Nursing staff is very attentive to every need of my family member. Any questions regarding their care was addressed quickly and thoroughly.

Improvements to the facility have recently been made and looks much better than when the old company was in charge. Management was observed present on the floor and available to answer any and all questions.

There is minimal communication with the nursing st...

There is minimal communication with the nursing staff at shift changes, especially at night Communication with the majority of the staff (nurses & aids) is extremely difficult due the fact that they do not speak very good English. Nor do they understand English. The nurses do not clean up after themselves they have left the covers of the syringes on the side table in my room after giving me a shot that I m required to have. Staff members, mostly early shift knock loudly and barge into the room flip on the light and state my name loudly. Scary me out of a deep sleep. The med nurses shove the medicine cup and cup of water in your face. Not giving you the chance to wake up.When using call button, it takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes for someone to respond. I timed it, it took 10 minutes and 34 seconds for the aid to show up. Clearly this facility is under staffed. The night staff, nurses in particular when paged are annoyed that they need to attend to their patient. The day staff is much friendlier and attentive for the most part. I have wound vacs and tubes that require to be checked daily to make sure the canisters and tubes are draining properly. They do not do that, day or night shift. I m on a scheduled medicine distribution and 50% of the time I m given them at the wrong times, which then messes up the rest of the schedule for the rest of the day and night. I had a urine accident on my way to the bathroom. I pulled the call cord. Aid came I explained what happened, I had to tell her to go get towels so I could clean myself up and the floor. She came back with 2 towels. She gave me one and used the other to dry the floor, using her feet. She pushed the towel out of the way and left the room. I was able to use the towel she gave me to shimmy back to my bed carrying my wound vac bags, so I didn t have to walk across the floor. The nurse came in and she informed me that housekeeping leaves at 5pm and the cleaning closet is locked. The facility itself is not very clean. The staff does not use proper gloves. They use cafeteria type, not medical gloves. When receiving my wound vac changes, the wound care change nurse did not where a sterile cover up, face mask nor medical gloves (wore the cafeteria gloves). This is not a sanitary situation. I have concerns at the possibility of infection. One day the facility director stopped by to see how things were going. I explained to her some of the issues that I had been having. She said the she would address them during a staff meeting. She has stopped by every day since asking if things have improved. I would tell her that some things have improved and some have not. My husband told the Director that I am a vegetarian, she told him that they could accommodate me. They were not until the end of my stay. The Social Workers here are really good at getting things done as far as the process of discharge a patient. And everything that is required to send a patient home (ie: prescriptions, follow up with GP). I will not recommend this facility.

I am not sure why there are negative reviews for this place. They blew me away! The entire staff was incredibly caring and kind. I HIGHLY recommend them!
They took great care of my dad, made sure he was comfortable, and that our families wishes were met. They knew me by name and when I called were very informative about his status. When I went there they knew who I was and even proactively called me often with anything they thought I should know. They also not only helped me make sure we had the insurance to cover him, but helped me fill out the medicaid paperwork as well.
This facility is WAAAYYYY nicer than a lot of places and has been newly remodeled. I did not think it even had a smell like a lot of other nursing facilities have.
I also want to note that my dad had come here a few months prior for a few weeks and rehab when he was coherent and he is the one who chose to come back to Hearthstone. Even after having experience with it he liked it!
After he passed the nurses were so supportive to me and even gave hugs! I feel like if we had been there longer they would have become like family. I cannot express my gratitude for the wonderful people they had helping us through this hard time.

LESS THAN ZERO STARS! Terrible health care!!! No one answers the phone or returns phone calls and when I was able to get ahold of my loved one, he was cold and hungry. That s ridiculous and unsatisfactory!!! The nurse who spoke with Mom was beyond rude and acted inconvenienced by having to do her job! Absurd!!! They may be busy but that s no excuse for the lack of compassion, communication and honesty exhibited by the employees here. Do NOT send your loved one here!!! Take it from someone who has unfortunately seen what their lack of proper, timely care and a sense of purpose can and will do to a family s precious loved one. DO NOT send your loved one here!
