Nice garden centre to visit. It's well laid out and staff are always on hand to assist. Great restaurant upstairs.
Great place to go for a day out things for kids to do lovely cuppa and good selection of plants
So much choice! Fantastic could spend hours here. The cafe is also great value.
This place has everything, we always come when in Ambleside
I would have give 5* but there delivery service let s 5hem down big style.
This place is amazing they sell the best Christmas stuff I've ever seen and it's all really good value
Beautiful, lots to look at for Christmas, very nice indeed
Disappointed with the menu in the cafe I know things are a lot different at the moment but the menu was very limited I eat healthy but even the salads did not do anything for. me.. Having
No toilet facilities . Didn't shop as much as we would have liked to . Their loss.
Excellent garden centre, massive variety of items and the christmas display is amazing!!
I have called at Hayes garden world many times. The staff never get any better. Giving good customer service is obviously not high on priority at this company.
If you want to have a real insight into just how unfriendly, unhelpful and rude staff can be get over to this place.. it s a eye opener.
Nice garden centre.loads of different items just a bit of a route march to find entrance(covid) one way in one way out.well worth a visit
Bought an artificial Christmas tree that arrived with a branch so bent it was touching the floor. The order was meant to have a free tree bag as well.
When I contacted customer service I was told "bend it back" and with regards to the bag "we don't see it on your order and anyway we don't have any left".
Terrible customer service when you spend so much money on something, will never use or recommend again.
Everything you need under one roof. Lots of thing to look round. Lovely cafe with balcony view.
I would like to write a review on my visit , having looked on Hayes Garden World website and reading that it was open today ( Easter Sunday) from 11 to 5-30 My wife and I made the 90 minute journey from Wigan to Ambleside only to find it closed. We knew other garden centres were closed as stated on their own websites so were pleased to see Hayes open. So after driving around an extremely busy Ambleside and Bowness we eventually found parking, not to make it a totally wasted journey. We had a little walk around and decided to drive back home. Just to double check, I looked once again on Hayes website, it read closing soon open again tomorrow ( Easter Monday). Had the website said closed we wouldn't have left the house. Hayes, please keep your website current to avoid this sort of thing happening again. P.S. Others too tried to visit only to find it closed.
Well done Hayes! Your Santa Express is fantastic this year! Fantastic value for money. Highly recommended!
Usually very good but not at the moment, probably due to the corvid factor.
Plenty of most things you just don't want, and then it's over priced... other than that! Clean tidy but staff aren't interested in customers, I had two staff serving both myself and another customer but both staff having a conversation with each other at the same time as serving customers, well at least they showed both male and female staff can multi-task! But that's all....
Went to buy tropical fish for my daughter. Really condescending staff member never asked if I had any experience, which I have. Very rude to me. Treat me like an idiot.
Will not be ever visiting again.
I love going to hayes every time me and my family goes to ambulside i loved it at hayes :D
Popped in for a light snack after a tour round the lakes. Very poor service and no hot food was being served at all. You were just left with what had been sat there all day for sandwiches and cakes.
Every Xmas the displays are fabulous and not to be missed.
At the second attempt we got a HOT chocolate. ..1st one was returned as temperature was cold as outside today. The staff member behind the counter was????? to say the least...
Hugest garden centre lve ever been in And so immaculate
Love this place spend hours here. Foods great staff the best helpful every time ive visited.
With the bank holiday weekend coming I ordered a Weber BBQ, to at least make the most of the lockdown from the balcony. Hayes had the one I was looking for and even though it was not the cheapest one versus competitive vendors, at least it was in stock. I ordered it and patiently waited for the delivery till I got an email that the BBQ is not actually in stock. I proceeded with a complain, as if I knew it was not in stock I wouldn't have bought it, in fact it was misleading advertising in their website. The reply was that they will urgently contact the supplier to service my request. Helpful though this sounded at first I got another email 2 days before the holiday weekend that deliveries can only restart a month later and I had the option for a refund. I immediately opted for that option hoping at least that I save the holiday redirecting those funds, to another bbq. Turns out there was another disappointment pending. It's now Saturday and no processing of my refund. Which is a large amount for an expensive Weber BBQ. I would not select nor recommend Hayes for future purchases
Nice garden centre, very large. Has a restaurant and toilets. Good selection of household items, plants and clothes
They also sell a wide range of gifts, and have a reasonably priced cafe
Just about anything for the garden plus clothes gifts and a coffee shop selling excellent scones
Love going here near Christmas time for their displays, never fail to live up to expectations and starts to get you into the mood for xmas
A great place to visit always go for a shop a d a great coffee
Always nice to visit .
Lady shop assistant told us how to navigate the one system .yes only 2 people allowed in at the moment the assistant told us this .
If more than 2 take turns going into shop it's not rocket science
Interesting and pleasurable as always. A whole range and variety of products to browse.
Good choice of some types of plants, beautiful place, very nice coffee shop. The plants are a bit expensive, good place for inspiration though
Meant to take photos inside the shop too but forgot! So much to mooch around here, love it, always manage to spend money. There's the expected indoor and outdoor plants but also a huge range of clothes, gifts, cards, household items, books, pet supplies. We decided to grab some food whilst we were there, which I was dubious about but despite the sandwiches being basic, they were enjoyable and the custard pie was really good. Even managed to have a brew with soya milk. Pleasantly surprised!
Well stocked and friendly staff, can recommend the cafe/restaurant for lunch.
Good selection of home and garden products at reasonable prices. Would recommend.
I know like all businesses they have to stick to policies but such a shame they have arbitrary rules about having a trolley to keep your distance, then no proper signs on how to get to to the checkout then at the checkout rules on how to push the trolley to the till and then rules where to stand. We are on holiday in the Lake District and it seems that the area has gone over board with corona-phobia - feels so sorry for the people employed but this store the car park was deserted and so was the store. Shops taking this approach will not survive.
Great garden centre all the plants are healthy well worth a visit
Great as a garden centre. We went in looking for dog harnesses and found the choice lacking what we needed but we were quite specific. The staff were friendly and helpful and it's generally a nice place to go.
Always visit Hayes Garden World when were in the lakes,it might be a touch expensive, but it's always top quality.
The most important thing Hayes has got going for it,I believe is, it's position amongst the mountains, it's such a stunning place, the cafe is excellent too.
Very busy because the 50% sale is on. Loads of Christmas decorations, trees etc available.
Loads of choice and inspiration. Just way too expensive. Probably 3X more than you'd expect. Not everything but a lot of things
Large garden center with plenty of things for the home. Cafe on site. Usually busy but big enough not to put me off.
Had plenty of stock at reasonable prices, They have what ever you want for garden and home plants
Always worth a visit. They have a great range of plants, trees and accessories. Please note that as of 24/7/20 there are no toilets available at the store. This is because of COVID-19.
Excellent - it's huge! Staff really helpful even at the end of a busy Sunday.
Brilliant winter display and santa maze experience . Large selection of bulbs, plants, flowers, shrubs and many more garden accessories. Really well organised, extremely helpful and pleasent staff. Lots to see and many great garden ideas. The BBQ section was best I've seen.
Wow simply wow . Could get lost in here . So much to see , so many products. Christmas here is a must
Gorgeous place for Christmas themed decorations at this time of year (October - December)! Lots of stuff to see, gorgeous ornaments and decor, well layed out and quite big. You could easily get lost in there!
Review of the cafe - coffee was overpriced and not very nice. The waitress was bordering on rude.
Lots of choice good parking good service resonate prices on most items
Dont go for the half price 1.4m tree as they dont have any.
Went with my friends 3 year old granddaughter to visit Santa. It was a fabulous experience, many thanks for all involved
I have never seen such a big garden centre. We took the kids and they enjoyed looking at all the festive decorations.
Amazing garden centre, plenty to see, plants were all in good health, enjoyed our day there, well worth a visit. Disabled access available. Good car park
Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Always enjoy coming here.
Always a good place to visit, love to just stroll around and see how good the place looks.
