Experience 5years ago with my dad and August of this year with my mom were exceptional. A team of caring and professional people who treat their patients as if they were one of their own. I highly recommend Haven Hospice, they are also caring and comforting to the family members. God Bless!
my mother in law was just transferred to ETYork/Haven Hospice today. the patient rooms are very roomy with pull out couch for overnight stays. all the staff we met were very friendly and spent time answering any questions we had. the facility is clean and beautiful, as are the grounds outside with peaceful sitting areas.
My family used Haven two years ago and received EXCELLENT service from everybody associated with this Hospice for the 10 days that they were needed. I can't say enough about highly we thought of their help and support for my Dad while he passed at home. Don't hesitate to have them help if your family needs such services!
My father was a Haven Hospice patient for about 2.5 weeks leading up to his death in August 2017. I can not say enough good things about Haven. They were such a support for both my father and our family during an incredibly difficult time. His intake nurse and home nurse were especially wonderful. They forced us to have some very difficult conversations and make difficult decisions, but did it with an incredible amount of care and compassion. I don't know what we would have done without them during such a trying time. I would highly recommend Haven to anyone needing palliative or end of life care.
My mother passed away at the York Haven Hospice Care facility recently. The nurses and staff were very attentive and respectful of my mother, my family, and my mother's friends who came to visit her in her final days. My mother had a serene picture window view of stained glass windows and trees at the adjacent chapel. My mother's room was clean, quiet, and well equipped for the needs of my mother and her visitors. My father passed away at this same facility five years before, and the staff took wonderful care of him as well. I wanted the same end of life experience for my mother. I will always be grateful to Haven Hospice for being there when my parents needed the best in end of life care.
My 100 year old father was in Haven Hospice's care for the last few months of his life. They were always responsive and supportive -- they went above and beyond my expectations. Dr. "B" even came out for a home visit to evaluate my father. In the end my father was taken to the care center for his end of life care. He died peacefully and without pain thanks to the entire staff working diligently to make that happen. I am a nurse myself and I have never witnessed a team that was so caring and attentive in all my years of nursing. I wish all health care was based on this model and this organization. When you truly love your job and treat people with dignity, respect and utmost care you get what Haven Hospice delivers. I would give them 100 stars if that was an option.
Gave my grandmother excellent care and helped us cope in her final days. Forever grateful to the staff here for enforcing COVID guidelines and being compassionate.
Honestly, this place is incredible! They pay so much attention to detail for, not only the patient, but also any present family. I can t count how many times I heard, do you need anything? They turned my Grandmother over every few hours on a schedule, combed her hair each time, cleaned her mouth to keep it moist (since her mouth was open breathing causing dry mouth and lips), and put mineral oil on her lips to prevent cracking due to drying. Every time they came in to do anything to her (give her meds, turn her, exam her), they introduced themselves to my Grandmother and told her exactly what they are doing to her despite the fact that she isn t awake or coherent. The mood and atmosphere is flawless. Everyone is passionate about what they are there to do. Amazing! I m so pleased in such a time of heartbreak to have had these folks on my Grandma s side.
What a difficult job these "human" being have undertaken. They are human much like us all. I felt they did add much as humanly possible to comfort my mother and it family as she lost her courageous battle with cancer.
I cry as I write this, because I want to offer hope to those needing this care. There is not an easy way to lose the one you love! Haven did in my eyes everything they could to aleve what was the most uncomfortable situation I've ever had to endure. I want to personally thank the Haven staff for all they do. Please keep your chins up. The work that you all do is a blessing.
