Wow ! Is this place a gem. It's been here for 75 years and although it's just a sub shop it's the best I've ever been to. Cash only, parking on street or pay $10 at Bass Pro Shop ( free parking with $30 purchase) huge parking lot and walk 1/2 block. I wanted to try everything since they have some unusual subs but alas I didn't want to over do it. I'll be back ASAP.

Where do I begin! I LOVE the Harvest Restaurant Group, as they epitomize customer service and deliver the best experiences for the client. I have dined at Roots in Ridgewood numerous times over the past year - always had a great meal, but I really go for the service. It was so good that I actually asked about their training program.
The last time I dined at Grato, my friend and I raved about the butternut squash soup so much that Chef Brian sent us home with a care package - who does that! Amazing!
Today's experience topped the charts and led me to writing this review. I was dining, for lunch, at Tabor Road Tavern - sitting by the fireplace, my friend and I were celebrating a long awaited holiday get together. When we received our main course, we were a little surprised, as we had not yet gotten our appetizer. The waitress was apologetic - not a big deal, as it happens - but then the manager came to our table with a bag. He did not want us to miss out; he packed up the appetizer so we would be able to enjoy it! That, my friends, is service at its best!
I still want to know what the training program is, but keep up the great work! Any time you want great food, fantastic service, and an amazing ambience, try ANY of the Harvest Group's restaurants.
Being gluten and dairy free, it is SO nice to have a place where they immediately ask if anyone has food allergies or sensitivities. I ve never had a bad meal. Delicious, fresh ingredients.
Had dinner at Roots steak house last night. Beautiful place, excellent service but steaks were subpar. Porterhouse for two was tough and loaded with sinew. Wet aged cowboy steak although it was tender had a gray steamed appearance, no grill marks. For the NYC prices you should be getting NYC steaks.
I admire this restaurant! They serve marvelous meals, their menu is varied, The cook in that place is a professional, I enjoy a lot trying all their dishes. The food is consistently tasty, the attitude towards the guests is friendly. I often go to this restaurant and I was never discontended. Highly recommended.
I dine here a couple times a year. Most recently for New Years Eve and their pre fix menu. The NYE menu had choices in each category and were all done to perfection. Our table had the duck and tuna from the entrees and they were excellent.
Great Subs The subs in this place were fantastic. Over-stuffed with meat, excellent roll and super tasty. You will not leave here hungry. I would definitely recommend stopping here if you're in AC. The only downside is the neighborhood. It's a little sketchy. I parked on the street and in retrospect should have used one of the pay to park lots right..
We were staying at the hotel and lucky enough to be able to have dinner there. Food was well-prepared. There evening special included and appetizer, main course and dessert for $29. Most of the offerings were also on their main menu. Would go back again.
