The experience with Harassmap has been really disappointing. I had high expectations but unfortunately they have not been met. The platform is difficult to navigate and the response time to reports is very slow. I hope they can improve their services in the future.

About Harassmap

HarassMap is a volunteer-based initiative engaging all of Egyptian society to create an environment that does not tolerate sexual harassment. It is also the first independent initiative to work on sexual harassment and assault in Egypt. HarassMap is using an integrated approach that combines online and mobile technology, research, and communications campaigns, to support a huge on-the-ground mobilization effort in 23 governorates across Egypt. All its activities are focused on changing perceptions so that people start seeing sexual harassment and assault as the crime it actually is and start standing up to it before and when they see it happen. HarassMap was launched in 2010 and is based in Cairo, Egypt.
