The Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store in Chilliwac...

The Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store in Chilliwack is terrible. OVERPRICED! JUNK! STAFF ARE TERRIBLE! And the store looks more like an episode of Hoarders from TV. Staff clearly make no effort to clean and organize as the shape of the store has never improved since opening. Staff are too busy chatting amongst themselves.

Volunteers seem to never make any headway, so this goes back on the bad management.

Time to bring in the dumpster and clean it up!

Also, realistic prices would allow more product to be moved which reduces the burden of overstock. And a turn off stock would show better to clients to do frequent the store in hopes of a treasure. But I'm not the manager... That's just what I would do to avoid running this into the ground in 2018.

Good luck if you shop here.

STORE CLOSED NOW

STORE CLOSED NOW

I have been in this store times and i find the merchandise selection and pricing VERY HIGH and selection was not great. I did speak to management and it seemed that she was so focused on maintaining a certain percentage of a retailers reg price because of the large volume of donations they receive from them. I understand the theory of that but there was no consideration given to the out of season merchandise which would have been slashed and cleared...why would anyone shop and pay those prices.
Another thing i found was there pricing of used furniture was again very high and it seemed like they never understood what's out in the used furniture market..considering thrift shops...auctions ...and consignment stores the price at this store was very high.
With Habitat and the other stores in the city I find it very hard not to get in and out without purchasing items that are such a bargain that I had to buy it! This is what this store is missing...nothing in 3 visits that came close to the temptation to load up..

ridiculously OVERPRICED!

ridiculously OVERPRICED!
Yes, friendly staff, yes a pretty good selection, and of course all for a noble cause. But the prices make no sense whatsoever and sales in this store must be accordingly low. My favorite: an old used scrapper for tiling. Wooden handle, paint remnants from previous use, and rust. 15 bucks! Why wouldn't I go to home depot and buy a new one for less? I'd like to buy more at this place, and support the organization, but not for these prices. Old, used stuff - which get donated anyways - should be sold for half price, if not for less. Buyers are not stupid!
