Hótel Selfoss Review

A new hotel. The location is very nice. Right on the river bank. The rooms are quite nice. The rooms overlooking the river were very pleasant. The restaurant is large and modern, also overlooks the river view. The breakfast and evening meals were really very rich and nice. A comfortable hotel.

It's very convenient , easy to city center! Hotdogs shop,ice cream shop, supermarket near hotel by walk about 5 minutes!

Nice hotel, great view and service with smile. This hotel is my 1st time hotel in Iceland.

If you want to stay for a night in Selfoss, this is the place to go to. I had a big room but my friends had a smaller room. So my experience for this hotel was far better. I remember I stayed at another part of the hotel at room 506.

Huge hotel, it has a spa attached to it as well. Lovely views. Very nice rooms and amenities. The front desk staff are just really good at their jobs.

The room my parents were given had a beautiful view of the river that lies just behind the hotel and made the experience even better than they expected.

The rooms were very cosy and had everything they needed so they were very happy.

The restaurant in the hotel is also fantastic, with the breakfast that was included with the room providing a variety of continental foods to try and appease to everyone.

The price might be very high but here in Iceland that's pretty normal, it was a lovely experience for them at least and that's what they needed.

Huge room very nice. Weak mattresses and poor cleanliness.

I'll start with a positive, They did have good coffee and the staff were very friendly. Now to be honest this place was not good. The room was really dated, the hot water smelled more like farts than anywhere else we stayed, like over bearing bad smell that stayed on us until we showered somewhere else. At 6 am they must have started cleaning rooms around us and it was really loud and that ended sleep time right away. The breakfast was the worst we had here in Iceland, the eggs were wet and disgusting and they left the core in the apples and pineapple. Bacon was burned but somehow the sausage was under cooked. The only things that were decent were the baked goods and waffles. (Edit) literally one minute after I posted this they walked right into our room without knocking first and almost saw a lot more of us than I'm sure they would have wanted.....

Great, modern hotel. Many food options within walking distance. Several grocery stores and gas stations nearby as well for travellers. Great bathrooms with tubs as well.

Comfortable and good hotel before parting from Iceland.

It is rather a typical small town hotel with spa wellness facilities. Only 2 lifts but staffs service is friendly.
Heater provided in the room to keep you warm, toilet is clean with basic facilities. Bed is pretty comfy.
Location wise nothing much surrounding, but the view from the restaurant is stunning.
Breakfast is average, generally pretty comfy syay.

Friendly staff and clean hotel and room all round. There was only a shower and body gel but it was fine for us. The breakfast was great had a wide variety of hot and cold food

Stopped off at the riverside bistro on the property. It was a pleasant experience.

It's okay but I was expecting a little more from a 4* hotel. Our room was very dated and even though we turned our radiators off it was always boiling. Showers are geothermal so very eggy, couldn't seem to get any non-sulphury water from More

Spent the night here after our flight was cancelled. Arrived in hotel at 5.30am and was given a room straight away. We slept in passed the breakfast time of 7- 10am. So can't comment on it. The clerk on the front desk went and got us a coffee.(didnt get a name but Thank you very much) Lunch was provided before our transfer back to the airport and was delicious. We were spoilt with more beautiful views of Iceland on our way back to kef airport. Next time back in iceland I would definitely use this hotel as a base. Staff were so friendly and helpful with us. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay outside reykjavik. Not far from golden circle.. I believe ..

Functional place to stay in the middle of the city. Clean and tidy - would recommend.

Amazing atmosphere good views from windows has a nice indoors cinema (you have to pay for it) good dinner and breakfast never had lunch always was out definitely recommend for anyone who s coming to Iceland!

Stayed for 5 nights. Great little hotel and restaurant. Very friendly staff. Close to shops for snacks and beer and local restaurants. And you can catch tours right from the hotel as well. My one complaint is the water in shower was a little egg smelly from the sulfur in the water. Other than that should we ever return we wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Nothing spectacular. One of the amenities in the room was not taken care of. It is a small thing but it makes me wonder what other things aren't taken care of.
There was no decaf coffee portions and just 2 tea bags in a large decorative box provided for this. The box was essentially empty when I checked in and was not replenished the following day either.

Spent 3 nights there recently in a 3 beds room. Nice hotel, well located near the major road of Southern Iceland. Nice view on the river and mountains around (if you are on the right side of the hotel of course). Rooms were spacious, furnitures simple but modern. The third bed is a joke though, and not fit for an adult. It is a transformed armchair (not even a sofa), very narrow and not flat at all. Hot water in the bathroom had the characteristic Icelandic smell, cold water was fresh and perfectly fine. The ventilation of the bathroom was down so it got a bit steamy. Free wifi was available everywhere in the hotel. The service was good, except a staff member was at a time bit grumpy and surprisingly reluctant when asked to bring hot water for the tea. Other than that the staff was very friendly and professional. Overall a good experience.

Hotel well located for visiting the south of Iceland. Quite high price but like in Iceland. Pleasant staff and parking available

They have northen lights service. They check every 10 minutes if the northen lights are visible. If they are, they will call your room.

In the city centre. Modern building with good restaurant. Rooms are quite big.

Shower water and hot water from tap stank of rotten eggs and the bathroom was not completely clean (hair on the walls). Furthermore, the bathroom and room were completely tidy, all 4 star facilities were present (Spa entrance 1500 crowns extra).

Good hotel. But architecture has passed the Icelanders! Place is somewhat ugly. Panorama OK when the northern lights appear but it gets spectacular.

This is a modern and comfortable hotel with a friendly staff. The bathroom was large and well lit with a heated floor. The room had comfortable bed and a decent TV.

As you do sometimes when visiting Iceland plans change based on the weather. The staff was very accommodating to us having to first change our dates, then stay an extra day. Everyone was very nice. The rooms were nice, clean no issues. Many places to eat around the hotel and they have thier own restaurant as well. For the price it is definitely worth a stay. Plus we had rooms right on the river which was beautiful.

Our only complaint... no sports on the TV in the bar. We actually had the buffet for dinner and it was great! Rooms have lots of room!!!

Decor and cleanliness class. Friendliness of the staff too. In the evening I was not eating, the prices were too expensive for me. The breakfast was very good, with a great view. Gladly again.

Amazing Hotel with a nice spa, nice service and excellent food

Pretty industrial hotel hosting many large bus groups. With that said, riverside location in good, and rooms are large.

We stopped for lunch with our travel group, the fish n chips was amazing. Highly recommend this stop!

The overall comfort and cleanliness is very intimate for the needs of passengers.

Rooms were nice and clean. However, we were there for a tour and they were putting 3 into a single room. Not really a problem but the king bed couldn't be separated even though they provided separate comforter. Other the hotel is at a nice location and the breakfast was really good

At the northern end of the delta of the North Atlantic, the Qufusha River, the longest river in Iceland, can see a big turn in the river.

In general, the hotel is not bad. Good breakfasts, very warm rooms, comfortable bed, pillows and a feather duvet. Great view, but the equipment of the rooms, outdated design. SPA for a fee for hotel guests, as well as access for guests from outside. In SPA, restoration is required.
