There are 3 large, medium and small stages in the theater. One Cafebar is a little expensive, but five cafes are reasonable! There are places where you can go outside, and the scenery from there is the best.
Awesome place e to go with friends and just hang out in the lobby or upstairs windows
Very beautiful place but the seating is very tight for taller people.
Group meeting including a your and dinner. Great experience. Good was wonderful.
The Guthrie is truly a world class performing arts center. Aside from the obvious fact that the shows are amazingly well done, the restaurant upstairs has some truly delectable food, and the drinks are also very good. Beyond impressed, I highly recommend you visit this place.
Amazing place, great architecture and spectacular views.
First time going here for a Christmas carol my only complaint is that the seats are very uncomfortable otherwise absolutely amazing experience
Saw "Grey Rock" in the Dowling Studio. The performance was incredible and the Dowling Studio (black box space) was set up in a way so there wasn't a bad seat in the place. Of course the views of the Mississippi River for the 9th and 4th floors are not to be missed, even in the dead if winter, it's still beautiful.
Twelfth Night new and entertaining. The theatre never disappoints. Access and parking is so easy, making a visit pure joy.
The yellow room, although kinda basic for photos, is amazing
Great place to catch a show. Love the design of the building
World class theater with fabulous variety of plays. The actors and other artists who make the performances come to life are nothing short of magical geniuses. I wish everyone could experience a performance here.
Never a bad seat in either house. Every production is top notch.
Really cool place to go and do some sight seeing. There is an awesome view of the Mississippi river.
We saw Guys and Dolls. Absolutely wonderful production!
Excellent performance of "Who's Coming to Dinner?" Very talented actors and actresses, but the theater itself is old. The seats were comfortable, but old and faded red in color. Otherwise I highly recommend!
Just amazing! We saw Guys and Dolls there and the production, singers, actors just ASTONISHING! Everything perfect.
Really love the yellow room and extended bridge thing. Super romantic to take your date there, plus it's free, which is like the best kind of date you can go on
We are so fortunate as Minnesotans to have this place. We go as often as we can and have never ever been disappointed.
Welcoming staff to show you were you sit. Food is ok. Not the best I have eaten elsewhere.
We only walked thru the building and to the outside overlook deck. The building was very nice. Looks like lots of bars and restaurants in there to enjoy, but they were not open during our visit. I'd like to go back and check them out. It was nice to sit and chat up on the overlook.
The Guthrie never disappoints! "A Christmas Carol" is fantastic, we go every year.
If you have 100 things on a bucket list, this place should be one of them.
Loved just walking around the Guthrie and looking out the windows and balcony!!!
Amazing venue! Smart design- socialize after the show. A great space.
Everything about A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens was great. The cast, costumes, visual and sound effects very well executed. I look forward to more shows.
Great theater with incredible shows. Friendly people, and the bridge is a must-see!
Amazing theatre with some amazing productions. I went to go see A Christmas Carol, and the show was amazing. The people working there were happy and helpful and wanted to give you the best experience you could.
All the best plays and a great view of the river to boot.
I work at the and patron there. Love the space and love the work.
While it is slightly confusing to navigate the theater is very nice. I like the theater-in-the- round.
Beautiful structure! The view from the 9th floor is breathtaking.
The Guthrie is a Twin Cities treasure! The staff are so delightful and helpful, and we had the most marvelous time seeing The Legend of Georgia McBride.
Cyrano de bergerac was the best play I've seen in a long time! The guthrie is great
The yellow room is a great place to take pictures, this theater has lovely views and shows great plays, workers are very nice and helpful and this place is an overall great experience, I would recommend going there with friends or family just to explore and see the view of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Also the long escalator with mirrors is so cool.
Amazing place to go and just walk around amd take in the sights.
Had great dinner on 5th floor before show. Sunday with George was beautifully produced, sung and acted.
Great view of city. Nice indoor space in cold weather.
The architecture and the view was incredible. I suggest checking it out during sunset.
It is good spot to take a picture. The lady in blue is nice. We crossed a hall of a restaurant. No ticket, no fee.
Best place to see excellent theater. I got to see a double of comedy theater one-acts with the same cast members, would not believe how enjoyable it was. Make reservations or buy a ticket right before seating of the show for a great deal.
We have been to a few shows now and sight lines are very good and the sound is excellent. The productions are very well done.
Incredibly breathtaking, inside, and the spectacular views from all around.
Hateful to conservatives. Bigoted, close-minded hate-filled people.
So many great theatre spaces and everything is laid out so well. I love the variety of shows, and the caliber of acting is fantastic. We are truly fortunate to have this place in the Twin Cities that attracts talent and audiences from all over the world.
Brought the kids to see A Christmas Carol, wonderful version of a classic! Also amazing views of the river and the city skyline at night.
What's not to love about the new Guthrie?!? I love having such a huge theatre landmark in Minneapolis and I do honestly like the new building, even though I have so many fond childhood memories of the old Guthrie. I keep looking for excuses to go, not just for the shows (which are almost uniformly excellent), but also for any backstage tours or workshops that they may offer as well. This is truly a wonderful cultural center that we have in town!
Very nice place to just walk and talk with a loved one.
Beautiful set design, costumes, choreography (even how actors maneuver on stage), lighting, acting, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE was extraordinary. Truly. I will come again.
Beautiful, unique building architecture with cool balcony over the St. Anthony falls on the Mississippi River. Offer multiple theaters and beverages and snacks. Drinks are allowed in the theater.
The new Guthrie lives up to the tradition of it's predecessor while being repacked into a modern and delightful new building.
Another great show, "Noises Off". Seats were mid-way up on the left of stage but great view and sound
First time I have been to the new Guthrie and thought it was a pretty good place. Easy to get to from any direction. Plenty of parking directly across the street in the public ramp. The venue was excellent and the play was a hoot. I was especially impressed with how quickly you could exit the theater and the parking ramp (15 minutes from end of show to freeway entrance). Go and enjoy a play.
Amazing place to see a show or just checkout the views of Minneapolis and the river from one of the many great viewing areas! This place is usually open to the public, so check it out if you are in the area.
Always bring my out-of-town guests to Endless Bridge and the yellow room here. Super fun touristy thing to do, and a beautiful view.
It was a great experience and performance..very enjoyable!
Excellent place to see a play. Make sure to check out the bridge during intermission.
First of all this place is BEAUTIFULLLLL. The Amber room and the endless bridge are great for looking at the city. Second of all the show we saw "As You Like It" was AMAZZZZZZIIIINNGGGG and I would totally recommend it. Such a great easy experience. Also a super quirky and novelty gift shop + the largest escelator of my life. That French architect--genius. Also the front volunteer and box office employees were incredibly nice and SUPER SUPER helpful with finding what to do locally and learning the history of the theater. Definitely going back.
Amazing space, good reflective surfaces, great folks
Not much to do unless you know your way around and what floors to go to.
A very nice venue, easily accessible and nicely appointed for an enjoyable night of theater. Cyrano de Bergerac was brought to life, not merely watching from my seat but wrapped into the tug of love on the hero's heart. Do you have something that leaves you self conscious? Cyrano's struggle talks to you.
Beautiful theater. Step out onto the endless bridge for views of the Mississippi River no ticket required.
