Gumtree Guest House Review

Phil and his wife were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! They were so helpful and friendly.

Phil just knew everything there was to know about traveling around this area. He gave us so many suggestions and good advices about where to go and what to see. Before we left and traveled to our next destination, the owners asked us where we were going and gave us even more restaurant recommendations for our next stop. It was amazing. We took their suggestions and weren t disappointed. They are genuinely good people.

The breakfast was also outstanding. They use local products! Lots of things to choose from and I left with a very happy stomach. BONUS: electric heated mattresses! So nice for those cold cold nights.

The owners were not only friendly and great to spend time with, but also well informed about all the tours available and gave us great recommendations for restaurants as well.
They use locally sourced products for the breakfast, which is included, and really nutritious (fruit salad and cereals + bacon and eggs and a lot more).
There is a supermarket close by.

Lovely clean facilities, Host's very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay there again when we are in the area. Recommend to all.

Stunning pool area and beautiful room. Every detail was thought of to make the stay easy and enjoyable, they even provided international adaptor plugs. There is a lovely sitting area outside the rooms with super comfy chairs. The garden leads down to a gorgeous pool area. The hosts went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable, this rivals any 5 star hotels I have been to, I can't recommend it enough!

Very comfortable and clean large room. A small but very refreshing pool. Excellent breakfast with local ingredients. Very nice host couple, who are caring very kind about their guests. Walking distance to restaurants. Highly recommended.

Back again in March and we had an absolutely faultless stay at Gumtree Lodge Phil and Linda are the most helpful and amazing hosts. I would recommend a stay here to anyone visiting Oudtshoorn the breakfast is wonderful especially the lovely warm freshly baked bread and the rooms are immaculate and tastefully decorated. As a mixed family group of six from with ages from 13 to 60 from the 5 accommodations we stayed in during our holiday in SA Gumtree Lodge won hands down as the best .

Nicely organized Guesthouse well decorated rooms good grounds and owners that take a keen interest in every aspect of your visit. Special tours available upon request, superb local knowledge with an enthusiastic love of the local area. The breakfast is one of the best we have had anywhere.
