Guiding Light is a non-profit organization that partners with individuals to help them fulfill their God-given potential. Through rescue, recovery, and re-engagement in the community, Guiding Light provides hope and support to those who are struggling with addiction or homelessness.
At Guiding Light, we believe that everyone has a purpose in life. However, many people struggle to find their purpose due to various challenges such as addiction or homelessness. That's where we come in - our mission is to help individuals overcome these challenges so they can live fulfilling lives.
Our approach is based on the guiding light of God's Spirit. We believe that by following His guidance and relying on His strength, we can help people achieve lasting change. Our programs are designed to address the root causes of addiction and homelessness while providing practical support for daily living.
Rescue
The first step towards fulfilling one's potential is often getting out of a difficult situation. At Guiding Light, we offer emergency shelter for men who are experiencing homelessness or have nowhere else to turn. Our shelter provides a safe place for men to sleep at night as well as access to basic necessities such as food and clothing.
In addition to emergency shelter, we also offer long-term recovery programs for men who are struggling with addiction. Our Back-to-Work program helps participants develop job skills while providing support for sobriety.
Recovery
Recovery from addiction requires more than just abstinence from drugs or alcohol - it requires addressing the underlying issues that led to substance abuse in the first place. At Guiding Light, our recovery programs focus on holistic healing - addressing physical health needs as well as emotional and spiritual needs.
Our Iron House program provides residential treatment for men who need intensive support for substance abuse recovery. Participants receive individualized care plans tailored specifically towards their needs along with group therapy sessions focused on building healthy relationships.
Re-engagement
Once an individual has achieved stability through rescue and recovery efforts at Guiding Light, our goal is re-engagement into society through employment opportunities or other means of community involvement.
Our Job Postings program connects participants with local employers looking for workers while also providing job readiness training such as resume writing workshops and interview preparation sessions.
We also offer transitional housing options which provide affordable housing solutions along with continued access to supportive services like counseling or case management assistance if needed during this time period before fully reintegrating back into society independently again after completing all necessary steps within our organizationโs programming offerings!
