a Saturday night two months ago we stayed at the Black Owl in Ghemme.
The heat of those days gave no respite, entering the restaurant we found refreshment and the eyes jumped from their sockets ..... a very long table full of every buffet!
to then receive an excellent first course from the waitress, risotto with unsurpassed champagne, the latter arrived on a trolley and served hot on request, boiled mixed roast veal of pork roasted in the oven with the seasonal outlines ..... to continue with a cart of sweets of all kinds.
Being eight people the price was definitely very low.
Try to believe, despite the heat we all ate of taste, now comes the cool even better eh !!!!!

Not relaxing place, very noisy and crowded, on Sunday it is better to forget. Eating at all unsatisfactory, the much-praised risotto looked like a brick. I do not recommend it, never again.

Respect what is expected from a trattoria, home cooking, simple environment, large interior spaces, tables.
The service is "a war machine", without rushing and despite being full of people, they manage to be careful at every table.

I was there on Sunday for lunch. They offer a fixed price menu that includes appetizers (local cold cuts, loin, local salami, Russian salad, puntarelle with chicken strips, beans, spring onions), a first choice of three proposals (today there was also the risotto with champagne) , according to a choice of boiled or roasted meat, sweet. Euro 30 with wine, water and sparkling wine. All abundant and very good. It is not an innovative restaurant but a place that respects the Piedmontese tradition. Fast staff, no frills, but friendly and helpful. I'll be back!

Very crowded and very noisy place, probably arrived late (dinner at 20.30 / 20.45) at the appetizer buffet there was practically nothing, the rest of the traditional menu, served with a trolley for main courses and desserts, waiters always running and quite surly , have no time to say goodbye when you leave.

bad experience: we went on a Sunday with our friends to eat and stay together, but one of our friends had a setback and had to call to postpone the booking for half an hour: he was insulted by the manager by telephone and rude . Arriving at the "trattoria" there was an absurd full house and the casino was very much. Appetizers that have nothing to do with the Piedmontese tradition and moreover they were not even freshly prepared. The first few dishes and the menu does not even exist, so you could not even know what you were going to eat, the only thing that was saved was the risotto. The second abundant but tasteless the only thing that could be saved was the cassuola. The very kind and patient waiters. Desserts being creepy since being packaged they were tasteless and sloppy. In the end a bag of fiordilatte ice cream was served which was inedible and had nothing to do with it. The coffee was dirty water. Normal prices. I am sure I will not return but I recommend my place of trust: La Burla which is located in the small village near Ghemme and is an agriturismo with flakes, with fresh and excellent products, with prices similar to this "trattoria"

Easy to reach restaurant with ample parking. very well organized service: despite being full we ate in a reasonable time and were looked after properly by staff. Today the appetizers were served at the table on trays while generally there is a buffet. Without having to order they brought us an excellent raw ham, seasoned bresaola, Russian salad, white beans, chicken salad with fennel, cheese and celery, cotechino nostrano, sweet and sour onions and olives. Regarding the first we have proposed an encore to savor their selection: a champagne risotto and meat ravioli homemade that our taste were superb! The latter were served at the trolley with a wide selection of typical Piedmontese dishes: mixed boiled meats, donkey stew, boar stewed, Prague ham with polenta, fried or boiled potatoes and herbs. After a short break us a taste of the various sweets trolley we have been proposed: fruit tart, beignets with melted chocolate, vanilla pudding, tiramisu and Bonet, all great. Next, as if our meal had not been sufficiently abundant, there has been proposed of vanilla ice cream with peach liqueur free service for the ice cream to the liquor (very pericoloso ). Water and wine, both white and red of their cellars, were already on the table when we arrived. Excellent experience that I recommend and repeat it as soon as possible !!!
