Grihini Voluntary Organisation - Empowering Women for a Better Tomorrow

Grihini Voluntary Organisation is a social working organization that has been devoted to the overall development and empowerment of women since its establishment on 15th May 1996. The organization was registered under the society act on 26 June 1997, and it has been making significant strides in empowering women ever since.

The main force behind Grihini's origin was the enthusiasm of progressive rural women folk, people's representatives, non-government organizations, and India's leading cement company ULTRA TECH. Together they envisioned an organization that would empower women by providing them with education, training, and employment opportunities.

Grihini believes that empowering women is crucial for the overall development of society. Women are often marginalized in many societies worldwide due to gender discrimination. This discrimination leads to limited access to education, healthcare services, employment opportunities, and political representation.

To address these issues effectively, Grihini has developed various programs aimed at empowering women from all walks of life. These programs include vocational training courses such as tailoring and embroidery classes that equip women with skills they can use to earn a living.

Additionally, Grihini provides educational support through its Balwadi program which offers pre-school education for children aged between three to six years old. The program aims at providing early childhood education while also allowing mothers time off work or other duties so they can focus on their children's development.

Furthermore, Grihini runs several self-help groups (SHGs) where members pool their resources together to start small businesses or save money collectively. These SHGs provide an opportunity for members to learn about financial management while also building social networks within their communities.

Grihini also runs health camps where medical professionals offer free check-ups and treatment for common ailments such as malaria or tuberculosis. These camps are essential in promoting good health practices among rural communities where access to healthcare services is limited.

In conclusion, Grihini Voluntary Organisation has been at the forefront of empowering women in India for over two decades. The organization's commitment to providing education, training, and employment opportunities has transformed the lives of many women and their families. Grihini's programs have also helped to promote gender equality while addressing issues such as poverty and illiteracy. With continued support from partners and donors, Grihini will continue to empower women for a better tomorrow.
