Great find. Service and food were on point. They had my beer(Orion), Jason was a great server.

horrible service. I love the food but I always get a horrible server. I will never return after last visit. Our server dropped my fork and picked it up and wiped it off and handed it to me. Nasty.. We also had to wait for 15 min before someone ask us what we would like to drink.

Delicious food and all at a great price! The atmosphere inside is nice but sitting outside on a cool day is a must.

Always a wonderful experience! Green tea is one of our favorite restaurants!

Been there a dozen times. Have eaten at most sushi places in the Asheville area. The service is only surpassed in excellence by the food. If you like sushi, you have to include this place on your list. Well done, green tea sushi!

My favorite sushi place in Asheville. The sushi is amazing. The fish is so fresh! Lunch menu has great deals on bento boxes. Everything on the menu is wonderful. The staff is super nice. The building has an indoor patio area that has a great atmosphere..overall always a wonderful experience!!

Our waiter was excellent. The food was delicious and well worth the price. You get good portion sizes.

The sushi was very well done, light but very flavorful and filling. Beer selection is a bit lacking, but a very enjoyable place to visit.

I have always loved going to Green Tea regularly over the years, but our past 2 visits have been awful. Long wait to even get something to drink or for a server to acknowledge you, long wait for food, and our server even tried to add more things to our check (I'm assuming to raise their tip). In both of my last 2 visits, I witnessed other tables get up and leave because they weren't being served. Bare minimum given by the wait staff there, other than from the few who have stuck around over the years. I won't be making Green Tea my go-to sushi restaurant anymore.

Tried to call in an order, was disconnected. The phone was then taken off the hook. Maybe the food is good but I will never know.

Had a dumb conversation about police with a guy here, but also the portions were smaller than i expected. Really cool ambiance, not sure on the food. Nice if you wanna impress a date but other sushi places are better food.

I looked over the reviews before choosing this place. Tonight I walk in alone and notice a bar off to the left. I proceed to go grab a seat. I sit there for about 15 mins before a person asks me if anyone has helped me. I say no...so she hands me a menu and walks off. A few minutes after a person with a manager badge walks over and asked if I had asked to sit here. I said ... What, I didn't know you need to ask to grab a bar stool. She replies yes you should have asked someone to seat you here. WOW... I'm glad the next waitress was very happy to wait on me or I would have walked out and given this place a 1 star. The food was great however.

I will say I am very particular about my sushi and even consider my self an expert in judging and making sushi. I say that to say I believe Greenteasushi hands down is one of the two best sushi I have ever had. I had the Fire Island, Bagel roll and Philadelphia roll. The bagel roll ... WOW! Tasty, great quality and wonderful aftertaste. Fire Island was wonderful if you enjoy a spicy touch with multiple flavors. As far as Philadelphia roll, fresh salmon, so tasty. And let me just say, the service and speed was second to none. Overall, I give Greenteasushi an A+!

Terrible management. They are very unprofessional. We were seated and not seen for ten minutes. We had to find someone to serve us. When our food came out it was cold and the rolls were sloppy. One meal came out ten minutes before the other. Asked to speak with manager and nobody came to our table. Waiter told manager we were not happy and they still did not provide any customer service. Called and spoke to a manager who was very belittling and did not offer any apology. Very disappointed. There are many othrr delicious and friendly sushi restaurants in Asheville. I would recommend any of them over Green Tea. We were treated very poorly and will not be back.

I work across the street from Green Tea so me and my co-workers eat here a lot. Sushi and all their menu items (there is an extensive menu) are consistently good. In 10 years of going here maybe 3 days a week, I have never had bad food or an order wrong. The owner Tony is super nice and very professional. I will say that there is a Japanese restaurant right next door that looks similar and I think a lot of people who have written bad reviews have confused the two places as that other place is not good.

I love the sushi is always very good I order sushi once a week is my favorite I try to switch I little yesterday for lunch and I order sushi plus one hibachi chicken , portion for lunch was fare but they put to much garlic the rice flavor was just taste like garlic I think they should moderate the amount of garlic in hibachi I will give five star for sushi but 3 starts for hibachi I hope you guys do better for next time thanks and

Good food... A bit expensive but huge portions so we'll worth it. Next time I'm trying the Pad Thai it looked amazing.

This was an excellent surprise. We have traveled all over and this is one of the best Sushi restaurants we've visted. Staff was awesome and the atmosphere was nice but upbeat. We rank it number 1 in North Carolina as we have been to most sushi restaurants in the state.

Green Tea is consistently a great sushi experience. The food is delicious, and I've never encountered an unfriendly server. It is priced appropriately, I think--if you're the gambling type and want cheap sushi, you can take your chances elsewhere. Green Tea is also, and I can't stress this enough, so accommodating of children. I have a 1.5 yr old and a 4 yr old, and we never feel unwelcome or like the mere presence of our children is an inconvenience. We're often there for lunch, which seems like a more laid-back time, and the staff never seem to mind that my kids love to watch the fish in the floor!

The food was excellent the ambience Was beautiful our waiter Isaac made the experience great he was knowledgeable about the menu and very kind! This is a must visit for Ashville! Best sushi. Ever. Period.

This place is always my go to sushi place in Asheville and I've been to all of them. One time in my many years of visiting this restaurant a sushi roll was falling apart and the chef noticed and sent us over a free roll.

Love you guys, but seriously what the hell is up with the iceberg lettuce salad?

We had a large group of people and they were very accommodating, food was excellent and the waitress had a great attitude.

I love the consistency of their food, and the ambiance is great. I have found the staff to be friendly as well.

Mediocre...Walked in and seemed pretty inviting; hostess greeted us and sat us immediately. Nobody came to our table for at least almost 10 minutes until we asked. All the waitresses that walked by seemed to hate their life and didn t bother to help us when we were obviously looking clueless on what was happening with no drinks at our table. Ordered the Dynamite roll was very firm and had no flavor. California roll, same thing. Server said hostess didn t tell anyone who s turn it was to take a table, but she helped us anyway. I wouldn t go back at all. Flavorless sushi and bad attitudes.

We went about 2 weeks ago. The sushi is outstanding, however, the waitress we had left us and never returned after the food was served. This was our first visit - it will be a while before we return, hopefully the service will be better. I assume it was the manager who got our ticket for us as I wondered towards the front, but I had been without something to drink for some time before I just decided to leave. That is the only reason for 4 stars- as I said, the sushi was outstanding

Absolutely fantastic food! Great service that is fast and friendly. We ate here after a morning of ziplining at the Asheville Adventure park and before returning for the obstical course. Would happily return!

Bento box with chicken katsu was stellar. They use the short grained sushi rice for their white rice I think. Miso Soup was a larger than normal portion, and everything I had with my bento box was great.

Plenty of parking, nice ambiance, nice staff, very good food and adult drinks. Our group had ika maru, butterfly shrimp, tempura cheesecake, Joy roll, Dynamite roll, Fire and Ice roll, Fire Island roll, Kabuki roll. They were all delicious.

Can't wait to come back for more! Absolutely delicious and vegan friendly options.

Food was just okay / standard fair, I feel most of it was vastly over priced for what you recieved in the meal. It was also extremely slow service, which was very frustrating

Amazing rolls! Nice atmosphere composed of traditional Asian art objects and colorful neon lights. Beer is way overpriced though. Several options for sake if you're into that.

Katelyn was amazing last night, she put up with a table of 21 of us, and did it fabulously! Always great food here and will definitely be coming back.

Overall my favorite sushi restaurant. For the price, the cuts of fish are very generous. The side ginger is sliced thin and succulent. The ginger dressing is potent and flavorful. There are more pricey restaurants and also places where the fish can be more fresh at times (not overwhelmingly or consistently), but overall this is my go-to restaurant because of its overall excellence. The wait staff is always kind and the owner even gifted me with some treats over the holidays for being a returning customer!

We enjoyed our visit to Green Tea Sushi. The salad was not very good but the sushi was wonderful. Our server was sweet but not as attentive as she could have been but I think she was new to the job. We ate on the patio mentioned by another reviewer but it had just rained and was fairly cool outside so the patio was enjoyable. I noticed that they didn't have all of the fans running so that would help especially in these summer months. I would recommend this restaurant.

Fabulous upscale Japanese restaurant. Excellent fresh made sushi, delectable appetizers and entrees, all in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The sushi is good but everything else including hibachi, salads and noodle dishes tasted pretty bad. Way overpriced for those dishes they don t do well.

Green Tea Sushi is EXCELLENT, to say lightly. If you know great sashimi, this is the place. They also have FRESH uni, unlike any other recommended sushi restaurants. The others all have previously frozen uni. I cannot eat previously frozen uni because it tastes terrible. I tried ALL the other highly recommended sushi restaurants here and honestly they are trash compared to Green Tea s quality. Even the cooked dishes are wonderful. The restaurant has been renovated/expanded since I first started going there and it looks fantastic. The new addition is a beautiful tea room. You can tell that the owner cares very deeply about the quality and I am very grateful for that because sushi and sashimi has always been a big part of my life. The waitstaff and sushi chefs are always so friendly and attentive.
Also, I recently started getting takeout due to the pandemic. Green Tea was the ONLY restaurant that was running a tight ship! Everyone there was wearing masks and gloves. The owner had also already paid to have plexiglass installed in front of the register! The temporary takeout pickup area VERY well organized and clean. Any place that I have bought takeout from during this pandemic that was not wearing masks, etc I will no longer be supporting. If they cannot do the right thing in bad times then they most likely are not doing the right thing in good times. I worked in the service industry for many many years and I rarely rave about any restaurant. Green Tea earned every compliment. Every time my mother comes to visit, the ONE place she demands to go to is Green Tea because of their quality. Thank you so much, Green Tea for always giving 100%! You are a true gem!

Heather and I went for a late lunch and the food and service are incredible. The service too was excellent...waiter was superb! I don't really like giving 5s as that means there is no room for improvement, unfortunately, there is no way to give 4.5 which this visit truly was!
