Well this is an AdVeNtUrE.....

Well this is an AdVeNtUrE.....

We stayed in a basic double queen room, so our expectations weren't excessive - and neither should yours be!

Here is my journey:

We arrived to our dimly lit room with no overhead lights - reminiscent of a basement apartment I rented in my 20's. The room is large, sparsely decorated and mildly clean. After checking out my new digs for the night, I wandered over to take a breather on my relaxing outdoor space and noticed that the screen door to the patio was bent and didn't close fully, so the notion of leaving the door open to air out the basement feel was fleeting as my fear of small creatures entering the room took over. I continue on and take a seat to enjoy the small patio provided. I do have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed our tranquil view of chipped paint on the railings, cracked sidewalk at my feet and chainlink fence by the dumpsters. I even got to wake up to what I believe were trash trucks emptying said dumpsters the next morning - another story, for another time. Off to bed for me.....except the loud whining of the dated mini-fridge is incessant in my ears all night...so that's annoying!

The next morning I awake from my slumber, the bed was actually pretty comfortable! I thought about showering but then opted not to shower due to the conditions of the tub, seems like it needed a good wipe down. So I took a wash cloth bath and move on to make my precious Cup o' Joe, when I shockingly realized that I needed to wipe down the coffee maker prior to use, its a little grimey. Why not just go to the lobby for coffee one may ask? Well, since I'm a country mile away from the lobby, with no coffee to fuel my adventure, I decide to wipe down my coffee making apparatus and serve the expired coffee provided. Its not extremely exired, should be ok right?!? After surviving my expired cup of coffee, I take care of my morning business and notice that housekeeping graciously left me about a quarter of a roll of TP from the previous guest. I guess it's better than an empty roll? Could be worse.....kinda like my stay here. It can always be worse. Ok for one night but bring some Clorox wipes and low expectations.

Conclusion:

Conclusion:
If I were to come to this area again, I would stay somewhere else. Sleeping situations are at least 50% of a hotel choice in my opinion, and the setup at Green Granite Inn is pretty suboptimal.

For positives:
Very nice hotel staff, super convenient location, plenty of good food, shopping and adventuring choices in the area. Each room comes with a pleasant balcony. Nice visual appearance. Nice common areas with plenty of furniture. Water pressure is strong. Plenty of parking. Main building has complimentary Starbucks machine coffee and hot chocolate. There is a pool and a hot tub, but we didn't get to check them out.

The negatives:
Beds need to be updated (especially second floor from the conversation I've had with multiple people on different floors)- super noisy and very uncomfortable. Floors seemed clean at first, but closer inspection there was food and kibble from previous occupants. Lighting is dim, especially in the bathroom. Some switches don't do anything, like the fan in the bathroom doesn't work. The floors and ceilings are fairly thin. The fan/air conditioning unit seems to turn on and off a lot without actually hitting goal temperatures- also creates a inconsistent variable noise in the room at night when trying to sleep.

Great weekend! Perfectly located in North Conway! Hiking trails! Were right next to the, hotel! Walking distance for snacks at Hannaford. The room had a fridge. Walking distance to. Many outlet stores! Legit, the Location couldn't have been more perfect! Close to MT. Washington as well.

Great location convenient to pretty much everything. The hotel was pet friendly which is a must for my fur baby and the room even included a door to the outside for easy access for potty breaks. The staff were friendly and were on top of whatever was needed! The hot tub, pool and fitness centers were open and the hotel followed covid protocols. There was also a breakfast bar with muffins, granola bars and a Starbucks hot cocoa/chai/coffee self serve machine.

The room was clean, unfortunately not available right at our check in time, but the lobby included a tv, some cool antiques and some info on the Mt.Washington weather station to learn about.

*only safely concern was the door locks but there was a deadbolt that secured the door to replace the broken ones

At first glance the place looks like a rustic mountain cabin but if your rooms are towards the pool area you are overwhelmed by the odor of chlorine and the carpets look like they are from the 70s. The rooms are good size and the beds were semi comfortable but very limited on outlet options. Bring an extension cord. Excellent location! Irving, Hannaford, Walmart and Lowe's, Mexican restaurant and more all within walking distance.

Room was dirty, outdated and carpet was disgusting. Fan not working in the bathroom. No refrigerator in the room. Staff was pleasant but that is the only good thing about the visit. Disappointed is an understatement, would not stay again.

All I wanted was a ground floor room instead of top floor that I could park in front of for heavy moving etc since they all had sliding doors to enter. And to keep eye on vehicle. Plenty of dead ground floor rooms and the answer was no. I was beyond polite and offered additional money for the move. Psshshh not that hard to change.

Was clean, beds were comfortable, did what we needed it to do. Few issues with the room though. Bathroom fan didn't work, sliding door was very hard to open and getting the cable to work will take some knowledge on operating TV's. Not just a simple "press the power button" type of set up. The refrigerator was nicer than most hotels and the water pressure, temp and everything were great! Looking at surrounding locations, this time of year, I would say it was worth it. Not too expensive and very close to the areas we had planned to visit.
Also, the phone booth was a nice touch!
