When a Tourist arrives in a new City or Town they look for a tourist information centre sign or a visitors information centre sign ,I could not find one.I called into your CITY HALL and was sent on a wild goose chase around your building looking for someone to assist me in locating a tourist centre, everyone looked blankly at me when I asked.The security person on the ground floor sent me to second floor, no luck there and I was sent to the third floor, where eventually after ringing a bell for sometime ,someone came out to see me, only by chance.He did not know that there were maps of your city in his office .He asked someone in the office and was told that they were in a cabinet.I looked on the map for the location of a tourist centre office ,no luck.By chance I found a NEWARK HAPPENING location on the internet AFTER I had returned to my lodgings.No tourist would ever think of looking under that title .A suggestion I would like to put forward is that you change the name of your tourist centre Newark Happening to Newark Tourist Centre and sign post it at convenient locations ie.railway stations airport and coach stations plus add it your existing signs .As a well travelled person and a person that has been in the tourist industry for many years, I pass this information on to you ,so that it may be of some assistance to future tourists and your your staff.
