While I'm not a wine aficionado, I know what my taste buds enjoy. I also know what my wallet can afford. That's the beauty of the crew (read personal sommeliers for you high brow folks) at Great Grapes ... I can say "here's what I'm having for dinner" or "we're having a gathering" and they'll match me to the perfect libation. Plus, as a return customer they keep my selections on file, so if there is a certain wine that tickled my fancy, but I can't recall the name, they've got me covered. And now that they have widened their beer selection, the goodness just keeps on flowing. SO, Great Grapes, you keep being you and I'll stay thirsty my friends.

Great Grapes is a friendly wine shop with an excellent selection of wines, and a staff that is both extremely helpful and highly knowledgable about the entire range of wine from the mid-spectrum to the highest quality. They get to know their customers and thus are able to recommend wines that a customer might not know, but are apt to like. I enjoy their tastings and special events.

I love Great Grapes! I never have to worry about coming home with a bottle of wine I don't like. The staff is amazing and so knowledgeable. I'm able to tell them what I'm planning to have for dinner and they help me pick out a wine that will complement the meal and enhance the flavors. Every time I shop here, my experience is amazing. For the better part of a decade the owner and staff have never given me bad advice or suggestions. They have great high end but also balance that out with the best bang for your buck options. Stop in and you will not be disappointed.

I really appreciate these friendly wine connoisseurs and how well they can find me quality wines that almost always impress me. The staff truly care about quality wine and finding you the best bottles. Good selection, great value, fantastic quality and people who care. This place is a hidden gem. The staff are some of the most knowledgeable and passionate people in the wine business. They have a great selection of natural wines and the store is brilliantly merchandised. In addition to a great selection of wines from around the world they have a small but well curated collection of craft beer, cheese, balsamic vinegars and olive oil. This is exactly the kind of place every town without a great wine shop wishes they had.

This is just a Great wine store, they will go out of their way to help you find what you are looking for. I have been doing business with them for about 5 years now, none of the other stores in the area comes close to the personal service and knowledge you get from this shop.

I like community wine shops. The interaction is warm, and service is more personal than the big stores. The plaza it's in has a lot of great, local shops of quality.

This is a wonderful locally owned and operated wine shop with an excellent variety of wines to choose from. The owner and his staff are quite helpful in assisting you with your wine selections and will even special order wines for you. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. It will always be my go to store for my favorite wines.

Walked in there as a total wine noob eager to learn and got nothing but upturned noses. Not beginner friendly!

I've always loved this place, but since they've expanded and added a room of special deals, I can afford to go here so much more often. Everyone is willing to help and Gene has never failed to give excellent recommendations! If I were to improve it I would add a wine bar so I could get even more time to chat wine!

Gene and his staff are always friendly and knowledgeable and I have shopped here for several years. Weekly wine tastings are fun and relaxed, the selection is excellent as are the prices. I appreciate the attention to service that you just don't get at the grocery store or other large chains!

I also like that they are just a couple doors down from The Meat House - one stop shopping!

No one will ever accuse me of being a wine expert, but I do enjoy trying new wines. The staff at Great Grapes helps me with my selections, and their product knowledge is really impressive. Whether it's a special occasion or pairing with a new recipe, they have guided me to discover many new "favorite" wines I otherwise may not have discovered. They are just down from The Meat House, so it's really convenient to stop in for a wine tasting!

When someone I know is a wine 'snob' I always take them to Great Grapes when they come to visit. Here they are bound to find just that perfect wine. And the assistance from the folks working there is terrific.

I came here looking for a specific type of wine, but they didn t carry it. The man helping me (not sure if he was the owner or regular employee) was quite rude, and he asked me if I was going to come back if he ordered a case for me. I assured him I would, gave him all of my information, but I was never contacted. I m a very loyal customer whenever I feel a place appreciates my business, and unfortunately this place won t ever get my business because of this.

I can always count on excellent advice every time I go in. It doesn't matter if I'm on a budget, or looking for an unusual flavor that some family member remembered having one time a couple years ago, they have always come through for me. It's one of those places you have to experience for yourself to appreciate all they can and happily offer you. All of this is done with friendly people who seem to really enjoy what they do, quite refreshing nowadays!

Fantastic wine collection. They have some really good wine that you can get in the area.
They are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to wine. So if you have a favorite you can give the name of your favorite and sure enough they will give you a better tasting wine from Burgundy or Napa for the better price than anywhere else in triangle. I am a big fan of their collection and the prices at which they offer wine.

Regardless of the mood or occasion, Great Grapes is our go to spot for wine. They have a great selection and price range that meets the needs from a casual, typical night to a more upscale occasion. But the best part is the staff and owners. They are extremely knowledgeable of wine and you can tell they love sharing their knowledge and helping their customers pick the perfect wine. Great Grapes is easily the best wine store I ve ever visited. They have a well-curated inventory that will have something for everyone. I really feel like a valued customer every time I go there. The staff has grown to learn my tastes, and every recommendation has been spot on. They regularly have tastings that showcase a variety of interesting and delicious wines.

My favorite spot is the back room, where they often have amazing deals. Usually Gene (the owner) has made a great deal on wines that the distributor is ready to move at a great rate. These are never bad wines, they re usually great deals sold on the cheap when a distributor needs to make room for new stock.

They also have a very nice beer selection. It s relatively small, but it s priced right and has a well curated variety that should appeal to anyone s tastes.

This store has a great selections of craft beer along with their selection of wines as well as po phenomenal customer service. I will be a frequent customer.

I went in the other day to buy some German beer for my father in law (that he liked for Christmas) and they only one left. Great Grapes came to the rescue and ordered some more and they were in by the next day! Furthermore I quickly inquired about getting some beer glasses made by the same company and they were able to order and get me some glasses to go along with the beer.

Great Grapes is our favorite local wine shop in Cary. They are knowledgeable and can point you towards any wine you desire. They do tastings on Saturdays which includes information about the wine, the region, etc. They also have special tasting events throughout the year which are a lot of fun. Prices are very fair, especially if you find something in the Deals section. They have a small selection of beer as well.

Once you have introduced yourself to Great Grapes Personnel and sampled the first wine you purchase, you can return and comment and they start to track your taste preferences. After a few experiences, you can walk in and they will recommend a wine which exactly fits your preferences and your tastes. Rarely has this occurred in my lifetime! They have never led me in the wrong direction and I have been a loyal customer for several years now. Matt and Gene are well prepared and knowledgeable and can make recommendations that can meet your special needs. Give them a try, you won't be sorry!

What a great experience! I'm far from a wine connoisseur, but I know what I like. I had the pleasure of speaking to whom I presume was the owner. He was so insightful,courteous, helpful and knowledgeable! He made me feel comfortable and welcome. On top of that, the wine he suggested was PERFECT! I couldn't be happier! Very knowledgeable and passionate about good wine and have a wonderful selection. This is my #1 go to wine shop when I want quality wine. The customer service is phenomenal also!
