Great American Moving and Storage Review

A TV was lost during transit, and a table came broken. I tried to report it to the company but they are being very unresponsive. I tried to file a claim with their claims company (the movers pointed me to) but the claims company says that the mover is not listed with them. I am not sure what to do now. There doesn't seem to be a way to file claims, and the customer service for the company isn't responding. There seems to be no other recourse. I wish to report this mover and hope they reimburse me for my losses.

I have the inventory list, which clearly states the missing item and I have photos of the table that came broken. Further I have a copy of the TV's receipt to prove that I had a TV that I shipped using this company's service.

Dont Ever go with Great American Move Company. I have never seen such most unprofessional company like this. Initially the moving specialist spoke to me so nice and did all needed which is OK, but later when it comes to pickup they didnt done their Job. In order to pickup things I need to call them for 11 times and finally on pickup day they came at 6.30 PM which is 4 hours later thier committed time. After that Next Step of struggle to get things delivered. Initially they agreed a day to deliver but never delivered nor called me about deliver. I have called their call center and agent who worked with me no response from them over call and even no reply of my 21 mails been sent to them. After 3 days someone called finally and said we will delivery tomorrow but things were not delivered. Again my struggle Finally today morning i.e. 3/28/ one driver called in morning and said he will deliver @ 1 PM and later he said his truck tire gone so will deliver @ 5 but no deliver and after calling @ 6.30 he said he is coming and after that he got things @ 8 PM in the night and few things were damaged. He says my job is done I dont care how things are and talk to mover agent.

PLZ JUST DONT gpo with this company else u will be just running behind them for your things neither they will call you or update you.

If it's possible to give zero stars, that's what I would have done. Terrible company to say the least. Where do I start? I honestly do not have the energy to go in detail of how bad the move was. It would take forever. Stay FAR FAR FAR away! They might have been good few years ago but I used them within the last year and it was a nightmare!

the worst moving company aka SCAM!!! They deserve 0 stars. They took 3 weeks to have my things delivered and it would have been longer if I wasnt calling them 4x a week. Then they want to charge you extra for BS after paying upfront what I was told my fee was. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Awful in every way possible. I have spent hours and hours and hours disputing a $735 charge I was never made aware of. These people refuse, REFUSE to do anything to help. The salesman, Mark, with All Service Movers, will not take responsibility for the service he sold me. Additionally, they would not deliver unless I paid them in cash and now they will not provide a receipt. I am also missing several items, including a couch! and they continue give me the run around. Again, they are arguing my claim. This entire operation is a scam, BEWARE and STAY AWAY. Think Comcast customer service times about 100. This has been the worst service provider experience of my life.

If I could give them no stars at all I would. This Company has a D- from the Better Business Bureau and I can see why after moving with them.The company I initially hired for my move subcontracted it to this terrible moving company. Had I known about the reviews on yelp and other review sites I would have immediately cancelled before pickup.

On pickup day the movers showed up early and were were quick, but had a hard time finding a place to park and complained about the layout of the apartment complex. "Jose" the moving foreman, tried to cheat me several times by having me sign papers that were not properly filled out, asking me for money that would not be recorded on the additional cost sheet, and trying to get me to pay extra, "just in case you go over the limit." Luckily, I didn't sign anything until the goods were in the van. I was told I would receive delivery between the 16-22 of October. The goods were picked up on the 5th of October.

The dates were pushed back multiple times. On the 22nd, "Jose" called me. claimed he would be there that weekend, and told me I owed significantly more then what the contract stated. There was no way I owed that much money. Luckily, the company I originally hired to do this actually did something useful and resolved it in my favor. Of course the weekend came and they did not show up, I called GAMS and was told they were two hours away but the truck broke down. A week after I was told this, they admitted they were actually further away. It was apparent after multiple phone calls that the GAMS office was not fully aware of where their own truck was.

The dates for the delivery were continually pushed back, every time I called I would hear a different story. Additionally, GAMS changed its phone number(s) several times over the month. They finally delivered on November 4th, exactly 30 days from the pickup date, the limit that federal law allows. Of course there was another fee tacked on but it was much less then the extra 3000 dollars they had tried to squeeze out of me.

In the end I am more angry about the attempts to cheat me and the apparent inability for them to perform basic maintenance and keep track of their own truck. The fact one of my boxes was moldy and damp and that they broke or lost several other small items didn't help.

DO NOT USE THEM at ALL.

Whatever they say is a lie, gave me a estimate $1250 and when all stuff was packed and they calculated actual cost it was double than estimate $2225.

They told me delivery will be next week, it comes 2 weeks late, very poor communication from agency for stuff where it is.

When they approached me 2 weeks later for delivery, I told them my apartment office does not allow more than 24 feet long truck and I told them ahead of time and they said its fine. They sent 55 feet long truck and the asked me another $350 dollars for move. Finally I asked them to leave it on road side, then i picked all stuff myself.

Last but not least my two boxes were missing, told them next day after they delivered my stuff, I gave them at least 20 calls in 2 weeks no response at all, where are my two boxes I do not know.

My experience was very bad and I learnt that do not go with their estimates, pay more but find a repute-ted moving company.

WARNING!!!!!!!! If you read any good reviews about this company it is a lie and made up by the company itself. Look on other sites and you will see. I used this company because of the price and they are the worst company ever! WARNING!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!!!
