The nurses and doctors in the ER were very kind, acted quickly and with wisdom when necessary. They were very attentive and addressed all of my complaints of pain or discomfort as speedy as possible. They checked on me, made sure I was comfortable, explained things and were reassuring. Dr. Whitaker came in on her night off and took excellent care of me as I was admitted to ICU within a few hours. I received excellent care in the ICU as well. All of my nurses were kind, friendly and attentive. I had many tests done and all staff were friendly, knowledgeable and speedy. I especially appreciated the many doctors thoroughness in making sure I was fit to go home. My only complain was their pillows are horrible, haha.

This is very dangerous place. I would caution you to go there only if you need the most basic of cares that does not require any medical training or thought. If you just need a Band-Aid go here otherwise drive to another town these people will kill you

Thank you to the Staff, especially the E.R. group at G.R.H. for all their help yesterday when my car broke down on I-84 and I had to be brought in for heat problems. I wish I could remember all your names, but everyone that worked with me was great. After I was discharged I had to wait about four hours for my daughter to come get me from Washington and they even shared their pizza with me because the cafeteria was closed to patients. Everyone right down to the receptionist in the lobby who put up with me for hours was outstanding. I also don't want to leave out the great staff on the aid car that came and got me on the mountain and Officer Jackson from the State Patrol. They are an important part of the team and deserve just as much recognition and thanks. It is a tough time to be aa first responder and you were all fantastic. I make the trip through there on my way to Colorado several times a year and while I hope I don't have to visit you again, it is good to know that there are great people that take care of strangers in need just like they were family.

Went into emergency June 21. Problem began in March 21. I expressed this clearly. They needed 5 X Rays, 5 to look at my hand only. 5, unbelievable. They must need money or something. The NP sent me to Walmart on the items to put my arm in. When in the X Ray department after the 5 X Rays I heard the attendant tell her assistant see it is broken. So I thought ok I'll need a cast this will take awhile. But the NP said no broken bones. So ok. Nothing done except I went to Walmart for the sling to put my arm in. July 21 still in agony. What a waste of money. So many times this hospital has been unhelpful and sometimes hurtful. New staff thought it would be better. Not the case. Why can't they get it right? What a bad deal in my opinion. Something so simple for the experienced. Laugh out loud, what experience?

Horrible treatment to my husband who was septic......

Horrible treatment to my husband who was septic...admitting personal. Thankfully, the ambulance from Milton-freewater had us meet them up top Tolgate at the chalet and took him to Walla Walla (St Mary's)! He was hospitalized for 9 days and discharged to home and continued receiving IV antibiotics for another 8 days. Thankful for having lifesaving options! Thankful, for Milton-Freewaters paramedics, and for their ambulance to meet me at Tolgate and take him from there to Walla Walla!!! When admitting was rude, horrible and didn't want him throwing up on the carpet and wouldn't take him immediately back while I would stay out and give info? Or get him back to start treatment & then come back into room and get info from me! Horrible. But when you have controlling people who aren't thinking about those moments that are critical life saving moments....and they absolutely don't care....because if they did he'd been taken back asap...its called Triage...its for the PATIENT not for their ego/being in control. This is how this hospital has been for years and it's gotten steadily worse. Hence, the 2.9 review! Wow, now thats good Hometown care to be proud of. Many ppl are afraid to tell the truth about horrible care they've received....retaliation is what they fear. And can't blame them..happens. Happened to us. Btw my husband has passed, but I thank GOD he didn't die in our sad hospital. And I thank God we have other literally life saving options that saved my husband's life. I'm so grateful, but sad our hospital is more about control, then assisting loved one's trying to save their family members life. Thank you St Mary's and the Milton-Freewater fire dept ambulance crew! My husband lived another year & got his liver transplant because of you! Not GRH.

Be aware that prior to any services or treatment, no matter how much pain you are in, you are asked to sign documents. You might want to have your attorney with you to help prevent them from exploiting you. Very shady businesses practices.
