This place is paradise! Could not ask for a more beautiful place and a more welcoming team of people. The location, the grounds, the pools, the proximity to the beach, the restaurants are second to none. Even before we arrived, we had great support from the guest ambassadors and on site, the attention to detail far exceeded any expectation. It was a very enjoyable and comfortable place to stay. Not stuffy at all...the staff were very helpful and friendly. And they took great precautions to ensure safety in the midst of COVID (September 2021). We can't wait to return! Mahalo!
Great staff and hotel grounds (landscaping, pools, beach, etc.), but the hotel room lacked. The hotel room was run down and doesn't look like it has ever been fully remodeled since 1991. They added a flat screen TV and a nicer bathroom mirror, but that's about it. I rate the hotel grounds and staff a 10 out of 10, the hotel room a 4 out of 10, for an overall 7 out of 10.
Amazing hotel! It meets expectations for all ages. Huge resort with a beautiful garden, activity pools and spacious beach. The ambient, food and staff of the new hotel's OMOTENASHI restaurant provide a great experience of hospitality, service and local food (ladies, you did great!). Many kid's activities were provided (grand passport scavenger activity was very nice). Definitely would choose this hotel again.
My family of 4 really enjoyed our 6 night stay here. The hotel, while luxurious, is also very family-friendly. (We walked down to the Four Seasons while there and definitely felt a different vibe - we would not have felt as comfortable there with 2 young children). My kids really enjoyed all of the interconnected pools and many slides, and of course the 30 second walk to the beach! The waitstaff who worked in the pool bar/grill were definitely kept busy but were always so nice and friendly. That goes for everyone there -- all the staff were so nice and hospitable - from the valet to front desk to room service -- really could not ask for a more hospitable stay! We really enjoyed having breakfast at the hotel on the patio -- gorgeous views and very good food. We could tell the hotel takes good care to keep everything clean and updated, too. We hope to go back one day!
Pure luxury accompanied by service of the highest standards. I hope everyone gets to visit Grand Wailea once in their life as its perfect no matter what type of a party you are with. Even though located at one of the best beaches in the world, the resort itself is so mesmerizing, its tempting not to spend all of your time soaking in the luxury of Grand Wailea. Can't wait until the next time I can experience Maui at one of the best resorts in the world!
Excellent! My stay was to attend the MWS MAUI EVENT. All staff of the Grand Wailea from check-in to check-out was excellent! All were kind, helpful, respectful and accommodating. It was also amazing to be thanked for coming to stay. They were grateful for the business. That in itself was refreshing. My rating is 100 for this location! Many thanks to all for your kindness especially your Bell Services!
Stayed here for my honeymoon; the staff was fantastic and gave us a free upgrade for our room. The staff around the resort were also aware, on several dinners the serves brought us congratulatory desserts. Additionally, the pool and beach areas are FANTASTIC. The Wailea Beach was one of my top three beaches during the week I spent on Maui. The food at the restaurants was top-notch, and the drinks were very well crafted. 10/10, would definitely stay there again.
Friendly and helpful staff made our stay great. Good snorkeling just off the beach. Well-executed beach umbrella setup where you register at the activity desk means you don't have to wander around looking for chairs to claim. The high quality of service makes the pricey rooms worth it.
Spending over $10,000.00 for honeymoon in Grand Wailea Resort for a 1 room with King bed for 8 nights looks quite a bit expensive plus you have $ 45.00 per room for each day to use "guest-only amenities and activities " But here we are staying at the Resort finally to relax and enjoy what the Resort can offer:
1. Daily Construction activities and breathing dust, instead enjoying in peaceful view from balcony and breakfast at "cafe kula" and breathing fresh air..
2. I was getting ready to do my physical exercises from my physical therapist for my knee, because few months ago i had ACL Surgery and i need to do my scheduled exercises at the gym in the resort.
I ve already visited the gym 2 times with no problem past 2 days.
Today - September 21st i was getting ready for my routine again. I was stopped at the entrance at the gym from a person who works there and asked for a vaccine card ( witch i don't have it because i am not vaccinated ) but i have proof of test that i am NEGATIVE on Covid-19 ( Those are the things that you need in order to visit Maui - Hawaii and stay )
1. Vaccine card - proof of vaccine
2. Negative Covid-19 test
I was told that i cannot use the gym even if a had the negative test.
I went to the front desk to explain what happened there and they said that from Sep 15 new rules from the Major that everyone has to be vaccinated to use gym !?!
- That was the explanation but i can use everything else in the resort.. ( Funny and Stupid )
People are using pools, hot tubs, yoga at the beach, gym, walking with no masks around and i got rejected to use the gym just because major said that and there was nothing they can do about that ( I got fully charged $45.00 for "guest-only amenities and activities ")
Well first 3 days was great now i am really disappointed in the management at the resort.
They didn't even offer me to reduce or take out the resort fee, or some kind of compensation. Its not about to get something else from them but to make your stay better and make you feel good.
