Grand Lake Montessori is a premier pre- and elementary school located in the heart of residential Oakland. With almost two full acres of campus, our school provides plenty of open spaces and green grass for children to run and play. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment that fosters creativity, independence, and a love for learning.
At Grand Lake Montessori, we believe that every child has unique talents and abilities that should be nurtured. Our Programs
We offer programs for children from 2 years old through 6th grade. Our Toddler program provides a warm and nurturing environment where young children can explore their world through play-based activities. The Primary program (ages 3-6) focuses on developing practical life skills such as cooking, cleaning, gardening while also introducing academic concepts such as reading writing math science geography history art music Spanish yoga mindfulness etc.
The Elementary program (grades 1-6) builds upon these foundational skills by providing more advanced academic challenges while also emphasizing social-emotional development leadership teamwork communication public speaking research project-based learning etc.
Our Curriculum
