After many years of our family coming to the grand...

After many years of our family coming to the grand quite often for a nice drink and a sandwich in the lobby I can honestly say that this will be the last time we will be doing that. After giving my order of a basic hame, cheese&onion sandwich and a cup of tea to a waiter who quite frankly is totally inept where customer service is concerned walking around with his head in the clouds I realise that almost 35 mins have passed and I haven't even seen a cup of tea.I then go into the restaurant to ask can I even have my tea as I'm waiting over half an hour and there it is said to me why don't you go into the bar,i said no that I like sitting in the lobby and I am then told that it has just been done up and is lovely but again I decline because if I wanted to sit in the bar i would sit in the bar. Then 5 mins later and to my amazement the waiter who took my order came out 5 mins later to tell me that he didn't place my order previously and what do I want? I again ordered my ham, cheese and onion sandwich Which has just arrived approx 1 hour after i initally ordered it with no ham on it,this establishment has well and truly gone to the dogs and as I said previously myself and my family have been coming here for many years and I will be ensuring that today's experience will be relayed onto all of my family and friends.

We have just returned from a fabulous 5 day stay at The Grand Hotel. It certainly lives up to it's name. Stunning interior, sheer class. The views from the hotel looking over the estuary and the marina and are amazing. Our room was very spacious, beautiful furnishings, with a very comfortable bed . Perfect. The food is delicious with lots of choice. All the staff are friendly, very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. This holiday was to celebrate my BIG birthday and the staff there certainly went the extra mile to make it so very special, so a very big Thank you.
Best regards

My sister and I came for buffet lunch to the Coast restaurant, and has just missed service by fifteen minutes. Fiona (hoping the name on our receipt is her name!)) at the front could not have been more helpful, she talked to the chef and put together two plates for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, her attentive service. Thankyou!

Very sympathetic restoration in longe and bar areas. Plenty if seating. Menu in bar looked nice but we were only in for a quick drink. Excellent service . We would definitely come back for some food.

A bit dated, rooms could do with an upgrade, very spacious foyer, breakfast unexciting, precooked. Large hotel with gym facilities and possibly pool. Attentive staff, nicely situated, and good turnover of customers, so perhaps they don't feel the need to spend a lot of money on a makeover. Good parking facilities.

Probably this is the hotel with the best restaurant view that I've every been. The food here was great even if the breakfast was average. Nice and clean room...entering here remind me the grand Budapest hotel! Magnificent interiors! However, the welcoming was too poor.

Very enjoyable few days at The Grand. Every thing first class with the hotel and felt very safe with the Covid 19 protocols and precautions that the hotel had taken. It's situated right in the hub of the busy and charming town of Malahide. Can't wait to go back.

The hotel is clean but the rooms are very dated. I went to brush my teeth late at night and found that the water wasn't draining in the sink and the iron board wasn't working . I called the reception and I was asked to change rooms at 1:30 am.

The next morning the second room had the same issue with the sink.

When I complained I was asked to change rooms right then ( I was there for a conference and this as during conference hours).

I changed roooms for the third time. The room was nice and tidy but then I found that I had let behind my tooth paste in the previous room so I called the reception and they told me that I had to go buy one for myself from the store down the road as they don't even have complimentary tooth pastes.

Lastly on the morning of my check out I found out that the hair dryer does not work .

It was one thing after the other. The hotel really needs to ensure that all amenities in the room are working . I would rate this hotel a 3 star at tops!

A very big hotel, with an formidable view of the sea. Unfortunately, I didn't get a room with view, but the room was comfy, quite big and very clean. Overall, in the hotel and in the room, the furniture can be inproved as it's quite oldish. The breakfast is rich in cereals and pastry but there's a lots of other things too. And the coffee was really good. There's a nearby bus station (no 102) which takes you right in the city, also there's a train station at about 10min walk, Dart takes you in the city center: Connolly station, Pierse station etc. For a 6 days stay was good!

Nice property, nice people. For the price they charge, having no temperature control on the room is unconscionable, Truly a failure to care for your customer. DO NOT go here unless room temperature is of no kind or you want to play the lottery that someone else will adjust the temperature just as you desire. Shameful.
