Today at the GrachtenAtelier as 'escape room' game. It was really great to do, especially as a team building activity! The challenges were perfectly matched and you really had to work together to escape from the room. What an experience, we will definitely do it again!

Molecular cooking workshop: nice concept, good idea, but execution was really bad (too little man on it): food was just COLD when it was served, it really is not possible. Rather disappointing.
We have followed a very nice Bob Ross workshop with our team. Amazed by everyone's results, we returned home very satisfied. Nice, professional guidance, good atmosphere, top location so worth repeating (following another workshop)!
What a great solution the GrachtenAtelier has been able to offer for our annual Christmas 'outing'. Because of Corona we had to come up with an alternative for our gathering and ended up at the GrachtenAtelier. Here we followed the BonBon workshop and Bob Ross workshop with about 25 people each. Due to the pre-Christmas rush at the parcel service, it seemed that the packages for one of the workshops would not arrive on time. Merlijn and his team then made sure that they were personally brought to our company! Real toppers! Everyone also enjoyed and laughed enormously during the workshops. Really nice to be able to do something so positive and mega fun together. Thanks Caroline, Jacqueline, Merlijn and everyone else!
We have done the Italian cooking workshop as a team outing. Although you are dependent on your colleagues in terms of cooking skills, this has been very satisfactory. Good guidance by the people from the studio and finally had great food. Nice environment!
From the beginning of February 2020 and from November 2018 to February 2019, I did an internship at Het GrachtenAtelier as a Culinary Advisor and grew as a Chef. I myself experienced Het GrachtenAtelier as a company with a lot of atmosphere and fun. Giving workshops was really my thing and I always enjoyed doing that. I definitely recommend taking a workshop once.
A few months ago I attended the molecular cooking workshop with my friends. We found it very interesting to learn more about the different molecular substances and reactions. Very nice that you can work with those fabrics yourself and the end result was very tasty. Highly recommended!
Last week I followed the bob ross workshop with 3 girls. It was a great evening. We were warmly welcomed (had the package with prossecco and snacks - highly recommended!) And had a really nice evening, with good help from the girls who guided the workshop. Even if you can't paint (like the undersigned), something nice will come out too! Really recommended. P.s. also around corona everything is neatly secured at this beautiful location.
As manager of the GrachtenAtelier I would like to take the opportunity to post a nice review in these difficult times of corona !! We are an incredibly creative and hospitable company, where everyone will imagine themselves in a warm bath! The balanced diversity of workshops, the combination with the GrachtenGalerie and the possibility to train talents make this a great place. We hope to welcome all readers of this post to us soon! Of course at 1.5 meters, but no less cozy!
Took an outing with my family for my grandmother's birthday. Super nice that we could still contact you despite corona. Everything was professionally arranged and corona proof! Had a delicious and fun cooking workshop. Your space is beautiful and we will definitely be back for your other outings!
We attended to a sushi workshop here. Generally it was OK. As it was described in the website they taught us how to make different types of sushi. The main downside was the rice, which is a very important ingredient in sushi! They cooked sushi beforehand and just very briefly described cooking it. Moreover, the rice that they cooked was barely cooked and hard and it didn't have taste. People couldn't eat the sushi that they made because of the rice. Big disappointment for such a workshop!
We have surprised our friend Esther with a very nice workshop Nudist painting for her bachelor day. From the beginning until after the workshop we had super nice contact with the GrachtenAtelier team. Organizing a bachelor day with 21 girls is a lot, but the team responded so well and friendly. There was a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere and everyone enjoyed the workshop. We had incl drink package and snacks. This was really well arranged and sufficient. Our nude model was also very nice and cozy! & of course what a handsome guy! Toppers, thanks for this nice afternoon !! We will definitely come back again for another workshop :)
We did the food battle with our team. The planning, communication with the owner went very well. Suzanne thought along with me and was very flexible. The location is very beautiful, especially in Christmas mood. Cooking with my team was very fun and educational. The staff were very helpful, all in all definitely worth the 5 stars. One point of attention was that the space for the games; it was really too small for 20 people, that would have to be somewhere else. Thanks for the nice day!
With our company we had a lot of fun at the Bob Ross painting workshop and the fruits of our creativity were not disappointing! Well cared for by the Canal Studio with good guidance. Thanks!
Together with 3 colleagues we expressed our fascination for Bob Ross in the Bob Ross Workshop of the Grachten Atelier. Nice location, pleasant reception and a fantastic evening. We greatly enjoyed ourselves, our unexpected talent, the tips, the care of our thirsty side and of course the end result. Our families were flabbergasted!
Highly recommended and we will definitely come back. As Bob says: God bless and paint every day is a happy day!
In collaboration with the GrachtenAtelier and Gallo Family Vineyards, a super nice online art event set up for food social influencers and editors. Arranged down to the last detail by GrachtenAtelier. A very nice party to work with.
Super fun, young and dynamic company. The creative and culinary minds of Caroline and Jacqueline combined with the great team they have, ensure a large collection of fun workshops.
We have done a Tapas & Sail teambuilding at the Grachtenatelier. Everything was well organized, the Tapas workshop ensured coziness and interaction with one another and sailing (and food) was also not a staff! Thank you to the Grachtenatelier team.
March 7, 2020 here with 4 people participated in a walk-in workshop to make chocolates. Reception was warm, we were immediately offered a cup of coffee or tea by the "students" who work here. The explanation of how to make the bonbon was a bit sketchy, so my mother and I did not get the holes in the mold properly built up with a solid wall. My sisters did a little better. The explanation about making the fillings was very brief, what are good flavors together, how much filling should you make if you want to make 4 different fillings for 15 bonbons? When the bonbons became hard in the freezer, we were allowed to have chocolate fondues. There was more than enough liquid chocolate on the table for the few pieces of fruit and cookies you want to dip in the chocolate. I was really amazed at the amounts of chocolate and filling for the chocolates that were made and prepared and eventually all thrown away, because it cannot be used again in a next workshop. We had a great time with our group and the other people who were there, but I doubt whether we really learned to make chocolates. The young crew who worked there really did their best, but I experienced a lack of a manager with more knowledge.
Yesterday we did the workshop making chocolates with family. How nice it was. Good guidance, excellent care with regard to consumptions, and the delicious chocolate fondue. Nothing to complain about. We will definitely come back
Nice sushi workshop followed at the GrachtenAtelier. The sushi was very tasty and successful. Thanks to the chef, Merlijn Veggelers, who explained everything well!
Unfortunately. Model workshop for 35.50 pp. You get a lump of clay for you and you can make something of it. That's it .... Tea and coffee not included, is offered immediately upon arrival, so read the fine print! Very unfortunate, not recommended.
Business held a cooking workshop with colleagues! Molecular cooking! Very nice, good ambiance, nice space to hold a business moment and excellent guidance! Thank you Zoe for your cooking guidance with our two right hands!
A while ago my internship started at the GrachtenAtelier. I was welcomed with open arms by a super friendly and close-knit team. You do not have to wait and see here, because you will be put to work immediately. I think it's a really nice company, because you don't get stupid interns odd jobs. The first week I started learning the workshops and the second week I was allowed to participate in a workshop. If you are looking for a fun internship with a lot of challenge and good guidance, then you've definitely come to the right place.
Jacq and her team have a nice combination of creativity, customer-friendliness and art to make delicious food. I had a wonderful evening there during a reunion of my work and it was completely taken care of.
In January I followed a walk-in sushi workshop with my friends. A fun, educational and pleasant workshop and the end result was very nice and looked beautiful! Definitely recommended for sushi lovers!
On February 23, I and my mother attended the walk-in Sushi workshop of the GrachtenAtelier.
We wanted to attend this workshop with two, a walk-in workshop is ideal for this, then you can still attend a workshop with a small group.
After a walk from Utrecht Central Station to the GrachtenAtelier (10 minutes' walk), we arrived in a cozy yard cellar on the canal.
Our coats were hired and we were brought to our table by friendly staff where we met other groups who were going to attend the workshop.
While enjoying a drink something was told about the GrachtenAtelier, very nice to hear the history and to know what else they do in the company. Then the aprons were on and we went to work. Some were told about the sushi itself and how you can best work with the different products that they had all put down. We have learned various techniques, we were able to work with color and beautiful products. The sushi was well done and very tasty! When we had finished preparing the sushi we were allowed to enjoy our sushi at the table. Then we left the GrachtenAtelier with a full belly. What a pleasant evening this was and definitely worth repeating.
Followed a workshop Action Painting with a group of 40. Despite having to go online due to corona, it was a fun experience! We received the painting supplies at home, and made a painting in 2 hours under the guidance of Caroline. Because we were divided into 'rooms' (function in Zoom) we could also easily chat with each other. And all while enjoying an accompanying beer and snack! All in all very successful!
Het GrachtenAtelier is an informal company with a young, fast and dynamic team. Many professionals work there with an enormous passion for their profession. You get a lot of freedom and responsibility and you really work together as a team. I think it is an educational environment to work in, because you learn a lot within your own profession, but can also learn something from others within the team outside your profession. Thanks to the friendly team, you quickly take over everything that seems interesting to you. So you really get to know the entire company well. As an intern I can really recommend this company as an educational and pleasant internship.
Today with the seven of us had a great afternoon with the workshop making chocolates. Good music, clear explanations and perfect assistance from Henk and Marvin. These guys know what they are talking about and also have a nice chat with 7 giggling girls. A gift for the bride-to-be and all in all, just a great afternoon!
Thank you very much guys, and as far as I am concerned, we will definitely be back. Even all the way from Haarlem!
Recently eaten there with family. The service did everything to make us happy. We felt a bit hidden at 8:30 pm, but that may have been miscommunication on our part. The corridors were executed quickly at the end, too fast in our opinion.
The location is nice, the girls and boy did their best. But, 60, - per person for a (tasty) soup, some toast, a chicken satay with rice, a hamburger, tomato salad and a ready-made brownie with some ice ..... seriously ??? Dear owners, this is really not possible. I realize that the drink was included, but then. And to top it all off plastic cutlery, plastic plates, but real glasses. Almost all of us find the finishes flat. For my company, this family outing was a try-out to do something similar with you, but I fear it will be Amsterdam. I will also not recommend it to others. The price versus what we were presented with is far from "in proportion". We all want to make our margins as an entrepreneur, but for 60 euros we would have preferred to have eaten in the Water Tower and had not left by 8:30 pm. 2 stars because of the kind service. (Finally: nice students and a permanent staff were present as staff (??) presumably with limited cooking experience ..... I don't think it is that professional).
We did the Food Battle as a team outing, highly recommended. A very well cared for workshop, with a lot of variation due to the different game elements. The guidance during cooking is great and care when it comes to drinks. The evening ends with a delicious homemade meal. In short, a workshop at the Grachten Atelier guarantees a great day!
