Boss lives here. Small menu selection for appetizers but great salmon and dessert.
My sister got married here and everything was perfectly done..... I loved this place
Visited during the Thanksgiving weekend. Quality surroundings. Staff is most accommodating, as well.
Great customer service. Friendly staff! Wonderful, tasty food!!
This place is top notch from top to bottom. Service is great, practice area is top, course is in very nice condition and having 3 nines gives lots of variety.
Beautiful community with a well maintained 27 holes of golf. Friendly club service for visitors.
I work for Dominos and have delivered pizza to this place several times. I've found it sad that most of the people I've deliver to here live in million dollar homes and drive brand new Bmw's or Mercedes, but can't afford to tip their delivery drivers. Not really impressed with this community so far. Plus, they dont even have sidewalks, except near the golf course.
In terms of dining, the club offers you two unique dining experiences. You can either go the formal route and sit in the main room (no denim) or have a more casual dining experience at the bar. You can't really go wrong with either!
Sports enthusiast? Then this place is for you! You have plenty of activities to keep you busy ranging from tennis to golf. If you happen to be around during the summer, the pool is open and offers you the choice to either swim casually or in the two available lap lanes.
Interaction with staff and outstanding facilities causes relaxed happiness in an infectious manner. Go and go again !
Governors Club has been a great experience for me on a number of occasions. I was considering joining a second country club in the winter of 2017 and the staff treated me very well. If all things have played out correctly, I would have joined. In fact, I may still consider it.
The course offers three (3) 9 hole sides. The Mountain 9 is more of a betting/fun 9 with several downhill tee shots and second shots. There is a beautiful view from the 9th hole overlooking all of Chapel Hill and Jordan Lake.
The Foothills and Lakes 9s are much more true golf. There are several demanding shots into greens and a number of challenging tee shots. Remember that this is a Jack Nicklaus course so you will need to be able to fade the ball. That said, if you can hit a controlled draw it will not hurt you.
The greens are Championship Bermuda and roll very true. They are the second best Championship Bermuda greens I have played in the area. Only Hope Valley has better greens.
If given the chance to play Governors Club, I would strongly suggest it.
Great course. Perfect condition. Very challenging. Best nine's are Foothills and Mountain
Governers Club is a wonderful gated community. The contracting security company is horrible.
Stately, beautiful and just as important the staff really took care of everyone that came.
One of the best clubs around. Great environment, people, service, and food! The golf course is spectacular and play is always a challenge. For spectacular views you ll find nowhere else in Chapel Hill, Durham, or the surrounding Triangle, play the Mountain 9, its an experience.
Planned late 1980s upscale, gated community on a small mountain left over from when this was the coastline of an ancient sea, as a breath taking view on the 3rd nine demonstrates. Large homes into 7 figures fill small lots with lovely views. The first and second nines of the Jack Nicklaus golf course are quite challenging, while the third nine on the mountain top is surprisingly fun for JK. The imposing clubhouse (top notch food service) with lake and course views exemplifies the nouveau riche vibe.
Great visit at Governors Club and the staff were quite nice/helpful making for a wonderful day of golf.
The food was amazing . . . the service was even better! I wish I could give Governor's Club 6 stars.
Great place for golf. Course is in excellent shape. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful setting, lots of activities and wonderful people.
Got to be a guest tonight. Quite luxuriously remarkable.
Hands down one of the best country clubs ever. The staff go out of the way to make sure you are taken care of. The grounds are impeccable. If you have the opportunity to spend time here do not pass it up.
Visiting for a wedding and went for a run this morning. As I was running ALONG THE ROAD back to the clubhouse, a woman driving by slows down, rolls down her window and yells out don t run on the golf course. !!! I obviously thanked her for the advice, with some polite expletives for emphasis. Best part - not to be snobby - she was driving a Nissan Sentra! . Southern hospitality.
