A superb little hotel. Looking very quaint on the outside, and thoroughly modern and clean inside with surprisingly upscale amenities and kind, conscientious service. A very happy discovery for our family. The new Beck's Tavern next door by the same family is also phenomenal.
We loved the vibe here, it was very welcoming and made us feel like we were guests at someone's home. Don't judge based on looks alone because if you do you'll miss out on this gem.
What a wonderful find The lodge was. Clean newly remodeled rooms where a lot of attention has been paid to the details of what a skier needs in a room. Mark is a great owner/operator that cares about your experience. We had the great fortune to get snowed in and had to stay an extra day, Mark helped us out and we spent an additional night. Only 2 tenths of a mile from Gore Mountain, can't get any closer. We left an item in the room when we left, called and Mark immediately mailed the item to our home in Maryland. Beck's Tavern on the property is also an incredible place to get a delicious "foodie" meal and great service. I can not say enough good things about our experience at "The Lodge", my family looks forward to our next visit!!
First thing we said was "this cannot be the right place". Upon first glance, it's disheartening to compare the $160/night cost to the physical image in front of us. It's definitely "high end", for people not accustomed to chain hotel/resort standards. It was fairly clean, if not quite sparkling.... But THE BED!!! The bed was amazing, by any hotel standards, and we had a better night's sleep than in recent memory. It made up for the "I'm sleeping in cousin Billy's room while he's away at college" vibe. Although we likely will not stay there again, the manager Matt was very helpful and accommodating.
Excellent place to stay and eat. Clean rooms comfortable beds. Food is good and staff is excellent. My son and I stayed for 10 days
Sounds better on paper than in reality. Owner is hard to get a hold of for any questions you may have. The shuttle was nowhere to be found and if you want to ask the owner about it, you can t get a hold of him. You will hear him though, seeing he lives above the rooms, and is active until 2 am. We asked house keeping not to come in but she did so regardless. She said she had to take the trash but ended up leaving our trash and folded one blanket. Ended up leaving a day early and would not recommend.
Amazing find! The owners are super friendly. We are looking forward to our next stay.
Nicely decorated rooms with all the comforts. Heating / AC system hard to understand, but owner set it for us. Tavern has great food.
