Went in there to donate a bunch of clothes that the thrift store I went to didn't want. When I asked for donations, they just pointed at the bin as if I were a nuisance. When I asked about getting a receipt, they stared blankly at me and said no receipts. If I didn't have such a heavy load of clothes, I would've simply walked out of there with my clothes.

I normally don t write google reviews. But my last experience at this goodwill was unpleasant because of some issues with the staff. One woman in particular was very rude to me, my friends, and other customers. We were actually very happily thrifting up until she came over to us to help another costumer and got angry about.... nothing? My friend had opened the door to her dressing room to show us an outfit. The woman go upset about multiple people being in a dressing room- we weren t in the dressing room- and then walked off in a huff. I replied that we weren t going into the dressing room, but i don t know if she heard me. We even heard her speaking to another employee and us and being rude to other customers who were asking questions about how the tags work. Disappointing. She made us uncomfortable and we quickly left afterwards.

I'm always a fan of Goodwill and its mission. You have to really look through all of their garments to find one that fits and is clean/not damaged, but when you do, it's a great value. I also enjoy that I can bring donations here, keeping my closets light.

After I purchased several stuff I saw a nice bag in the back and asked the cashier to see the bag. A few minutes later I decided I want to buy it and went to another cashier and ask if I could buy it (he saw the bag that I was talking about), in a very cold vibe the cashier told me go back to the end of the line (I must say it feel that he didn't like my accent), after he let me wait in line he come to me and say that he saved this bag to another client and he asked me to give it to him. He didn't apologize for the mistake in any way just looked at me like I'm the one that made the mistake!

I don't understand why he intentionally wasted my time for no reason.
Worst service ever!

I've became a regular customer because of a lot of great finds! And I think it's more environment-friendly! If you bring your own bag to shop, you can truly live zero waste! I enjoy going here whenever I got something to buy and decided to have an hunt in this store!

This is my first time shopping at a thrift store. I thought the goods would be really obvious as a second hand but they weren't all like that. Most of them looked quite new and unused! You can find some really good jackets and sweaters for $5. I bought a good Gap winter jacket for just $12 which would've been 50+ otherwise. Unique stuff, well organized and nice staff. Accessories are still a bit pricey...I got a layered chain for $5 which would've been the same if I bought new. There were really cute bags and shoes too. I'd recommend shopping at this branch. Please wash the clothes before using. :)

Good selection, especially housewares (vintage teacups and played). Open till 8:00 pm Monday-Saturday, which is later than many other Goodwill stores (they close earlier on Sunday.) Mostly college students and assorted hipster shoppers. Staff is also mostly young and hipster. The tall guy who works there has some cool clothes.

Staff is nice overall, though one of them seemed annoyed with me for buying teacups (fragile, breakable) so late in the day (closing time) because they were running so low on paper to wrap them.

I wasn t expecting this since I moved to this neighborhood recently from the South End so I had been accustomed to shopping at the store on Harrison Ave. where they never seemed to run out of wrapping paper.

Well, we re not Harrison Ave., said the cashier.

This is true. Harrison Ave. store is much bigger and has more Theory suits - in addition to having more wrapping paper - but they are also more obnoxious about kicking you out of the store at closing time. Harrison Ave. has more people from the neighborhood (South End/Roxbury) shopping and hardly any hipster college students.

All in all this was a good shopping experience.

I love this location.. all the staff are very nice. I've never had a problem with any of them. The only issue I have with this store is that some of the racks of clothing are so scrunched in together that you can't even look through them. They still get a 5-star review

I went to the goodwill today and I was so happy with my purchase till I realized they charged me twice. The employee told me that my first card didn t work and in good faith I used a second one. They charged the amount on both cards.

Edit: I called them and they said they would refund the charge. I got some really good stuff but I have to take off a star for the mixup because it s quite the hassle

The cashier black ,thin ,tall ,curry hair lady is always bad service mind (rude). I have been there many time and she is always bad service all the time. The last time the lady (customer )was in the line front to me just told me come in front instead of her. It s just because she want to have service from other cashier instead of black lady .I asked her why ,she said I don t like her, she s bad service. I totally agree!! You re guys should avoid her. If you don t want to feel bad after walk out of the store.

Parking is a little difficult but donations are easy, there are several blue donation bins just to the left as you walk in. Lots of men's and women's clothing available and there are several books and CDs as well, there are even some household items available in the back of the store.

I absolutely love this Goodwill. Amazing items, staff, and prices. Yes, some things are marked up VERY high (I've paid $100 for a pair of shoes here more than once), but usually those things are absolutely worth the price, and if not, just don't buy it! This location gets excellent donations, and I've found numerous amazing pieces here: from furniture, to shoes, to artwork. I bought a condo down the road just so I could come here 2x+ a week.

Though if you're not fond of a slightly pushy staff (they're ultimately there to push product and make money; it's like all relationships in life: you be nice and they'll be nice), a questionable crowd of shoppers (homeless, drunk, on drugs (some people, some times)), then just don't shop here. Though when you find that special item that you can't believe someone actually donated, you'll suck it up and be a frequent shopper like I am.

For selling items not a good place. Hip? mmm... questionable. Prices they offer are almost poor and not in balance with the actual item. IE they offered me more for an item than I paid brand new, and less than 7 percent on another item that WAS brand new. Not real sure they have a full handle on what is trendy and what is not. For buying... stuff is really picked through. Can get almost anything they have at the local goodwill.

Not impressed.

About Goodwill Industries, Inc

Goodwill Industries, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has been serving communities across the United States for over 100 years. Their mission is to help individuals with barriers to self-sufficiency achieve independence and dignity through work. Goodwill Industries, Inc. believes in providing people with opportunities rather than charity.

The organization was founded in Boston in 1902 by Reverend Edgar J. Helms, who believed that people could be helped by giving them a chance to work and earn their own living rather than just receiving handouts. He started collecting used goods from wealthy families and selling them at affordable prices to those in need.

Today, Goodwill Industries, Inc. operates more than 3,300 stores across the United States and Canada and employs over 300,000 people annually. They provide job training programs, employment placement services, and other community-based programs for individuals facing challenges such as disabilities or lack of education or job experience.

One of the unique aspects of Goodwill Industries' approach is their focus on sustainability through recycling and repurposing donated goods. They divert millions of pounds of textiles from landfills each year by reselling clothing items or repurposing them into cleaning rags or insulation material.

Goodwill Industries also partners with businesses to provide staffing solutions for temporary or permanent positions while offering support services such as training and coaching for employees with disabilities or other barriers to employment.

In addition to their workforce development programs, Goodwill Industries offers various community-based initiatives such as financial literacy classes, youth mentoring programs, veteran support services, disaster relief efforts among others.

Goodwill's impact on communities can be seen through its numerous success stories where individuals have overcome obstacles like homelessness or addiction through the organization's assistance towards finding meaningful employment opportunities leading towards self-sufficiency.

In conclusion,
Goodwill Industries' commitment towards helping individuals achieve independence through work has made it one of the most respected non-profit organizations globally.
Their innovative approach towards sustainability coupled with workforce development initiatives has made it an industry leader.
With over a century-long history behind it plus its continued growth trajectory today; there's no doubt that Goodwill will continue making significant contributions towards building stronger communities tomorrow!
