Beautiful day and the power still goes out for hours at a time use all the fees people pay to fix the infrastructure
They don't answer their phone at all. I've called 5 times to five different options on the automated voice thing got one answer only to be in the wrong department and transferred to a voice mail to the "right" one. This is not the first time either.
My power was disconnected for non-payment with no attempt to contact me by the phone number or email on file. I was sent one piece of mail once. I discovered this after hours, so there was no way to pay my bill and be reconnected and now I am powerless for 15 hours in below freezing temperatures. You d think they d make it a little easier for me to give them my money.
If I could give GVEA ZERO STARS , I would ve! Employee members very unprofessional! I don t know who trains these people but something clearly needs to be done to better customer service.
Excellent service at their office. Really appreciate their outage reporting maps so I know they know about an outage and have crews working on the outages. Glad to see that they are working on utility easement clearing in our neighbor hood. Their crews are efficient and courteous in the field.
I was told it was $45 to turn my power on today, $30 to turn it on tomorrow. No worries, I'm in a cabin and you have to pay your guy to come out and remove the boots from my meter to connect service.
Just noticed today, it's a smart meter. This is literally turned on remotely from the office with a click of the mouse. I'm not trying to be a know-it-all because I used to install these meters for Pepco around the DC area, but my last house with a smart meter literally had service turned on while I was on the phone setting up service FOR NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.
Crooks, electric bill is estimated based on your assumed usage. So replacing my entire house lights to LED did absolutely nothing to lower my bill, but without a doubt allowed them to provide less power to me. So.....your welcome GVEA.
There have been several power outages over the last few days in our part of town. After seeing the two star reviews it was a reminder to me of how exceptional our experience with GVEA has been over the years. This includes a Thanksgiving where the power went out while the turkey was only half way done in the oven. I've run into them on the road and given updates on downed lines. I've seen the workers go out of their way to help out of towners who've gone into a ditch. Without exception when I've run into your crew in the field they are positive, patient, and helpful. Generally, you've taken care of power outages within an hour or so. Sometimes more, but that's been during major storms with dozens of line breaks. I for one appreciate the hard work they do, during all hours, over holidays etc. Thank you for all you do to keep us safe and warm! I think you do a GREAT job and have wonderful employees!
