Regional Manager Terri over the Savannah area is very rude and racist. I was trying to report a complaint on the property manager Vicki over Wood Meadow Apartments and she cut me off and would not allow me to speak. Customer service is very important in this business. If a customer is trying to report a complaint the proper thing to do is let the customer share their story and then as a regional manager you give your feedback. One of my family members live at Waystation in Richmond Hill, Ga and we witnessed how the black property manager Ms. Dixon was treated by Terri and her staff. It is just mind blowing that a white manager would be allowed to be rude to applicants but the black manager could not. During the application process Vicki was very rude and nice nasty. When I was completing my application as I was writing she stated in very rude tone that I needed to write neatly and smaller so that her file could be perfect because she likes her file to perfect for compliance. My hand writing is actually really neat, but I m guessing it wasn t up to her standards because I was a young black girl. Originally Vicki told me that the only way security deposit is refunded is if you didn t move in. Then when I called her back few months to speak with her about it she changed her story. Regional manager Terri basically called me liar without even hearing the full side of my story. I would not recommend anyone to move to any of these properties unless you want deal with discrimination and be forced to file a fair housing complaint and have your security deposit taken even if you do not move in.
I have lived in my apartment for less than a year. I was so excited to be moving into a nice complex. Since I have been here I can count on one hand the times the 2nd floor has been vacuumed! I am embarrassed to have guest over because of the condition of the building. As much as we pay for rent , we should have a place that we are proud to show our guest.
Gateway Management Company has been a great place to work for over 6 years. The people at Gateway are eager to help and learn. It's so nice to be a part of the team.
I have been living at Laurel View apartments in Concord, NC for 1 year now. I recently resigned my lease at an increased rate. I m a PA student so sometime I have to travel out of town for clinical rotations. I recently stayed out of town for 1 week and I came back to my apartment on a Saturday and found a set of maintenance keys in my door with the door unlocked and all of my lights on. I immediately took the keys down to the leasing office and the office manager said that there was no maintenance on staff that day and that the apartment must have been left unlocked with the keys in the door for at least 24 hours, possibly all week. He apologized profusely and promised the person in charge would be terminated, and that all my locks would be replaced. I went back to he office a couple days later to follow up, and another employee said that the manager no longer worked there and that there was nothing she could do. The maintenance person responsible was not terminated and my locks have not been changed. She gave me the number to corporate because she said she couldn t do anything about the situation and I have called serval times and left voicemails and no one has gotten back to me. I am currently paying an increased rate for an apartment that I can t even feel comfortable leaving for more than a day because I can t be sure someone won t come in and leave it unlocked, and no one seems to care.

I have worked for four management companies over a 15 year period in property management. The last nearly two years have been the best and most enjoyable with Gateway. I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to join the company in the summer of 2018. Training is conducted on a company-wide basis (annual conference, Grace Hill, CAM class), but our regional manager also provides training and meetings regularly so you really feel like you are part of a smaller team too. From a property manager's perspective there is definitely reporting and accountability, but there is not so much of it so that you feel like you are constantly doing reports. As a manager, I am able to focus first on the resident/customer experience. Coming to work is just enjoyable. #gogatewaygo
I live in one of their properties and seriously disappointed our garbage hasn't been picked up in a while. It was supposed to be picked up today. Needless to say that didn't happen . I seriously suggest management changes trash removal pick up company. On top of that the pool is closed today and is rarely open on their set schedule. I wonder who had the bright idea of not opening the pool on this holiday weekend on which most residents have a little time off.

It was a nice place 4 years ago .when i move in.things has change.rent has gone up every year.and it was suppose to be base. On your income.im paying more than ever in the last 4 years it is a senior place.it seen more going on to so check it out before you decide if this is what your looking for

I have not regretted my decision to join the Gateway Management Team! Everyone has been so welcoming. That family feeling is not only at our Corporate office, it spreads through out all of our properties. Gateway has wonderful, friendly managers and maintenance. They want to make sure that all of their residents call their Gateway Managed Property Home! The Gateway Team works together to provide outstanding service and solutions to issues. This company is over Hunter Ridge Apartments which has an extremely high turnover rate! They employ the worst person to manage the complex. They don't care about the safety because the gates in the front hasn't work years. There's been 2 shootings since January and they have literally done nothing to ensure the safety of other residents. You have some people living here for free while others are paying 800 plus dollars. The moment they started accepting section 8 the complex went from good to poor. We are so fed up with this company and complex! My mom is 85 years old we've been at that complex for 7 years and nothing has changed. We plan to leave when the lease is up
They said I was approved took deposit and first month rent told turn lights on and then would not give key called head lady and didn't hear back from her and when she did called me during work hours and I still have my 200 dollar money order no one cash and they give me my car for it. I would never recommend Boone go there
I Lived in the Highgate apartment homes in Gardendale and I am terminal ill and I moved out and I have been trying to get a deposit refund for a year and I ve called and called I ve sent text messages to the regional manager and to all that I haven t received any emails or calls from all my attempts this is very poor customer service by all means not a company I would rent from again if I live so Disturbed about this matter

High-gate needs the old Property Manager back, these apartments are falling apart. The trash disposal is always over filled for days, grass hasn't been cut. This is ridiculous !!! I'm embarrassed to have company over.

I have been trying to get a rental property with this company for two months (2019, end of May to end of July). Five people have worked on my application. The person I'm with tells me everything is ready to be sent in then, up to two weeks later, after I email or text them, I find out something is still missing and I have to come in for more paperwork. Seriously, over and over. They don't contact me to tell me something is wrong, I find out by trying to get a hold of them. Over and over. They tell me everything is ready to be sent in and then the application does not get sent in. Apparently, a new checklist needs to be made and distributed to employees so they all know what is actually required for an application because every single person I've worked with has said all is well....and it wasn't! These people have turned out to be the most incompetent management personnel I've ever worked with out of six states, with multiple companies in each state. Very disappontng and frustrating.

I ve worked for 7 management companies in my 25+ year career and I can say without hesitation that Gateway is the best by far.
I have been employed by Gateway Management Company for 26 years, from the Florence Gateway to the new Birmingham Gateway! Never once have I considered leaving. I started as a part time community manager and worked my way to a Regional Property Manager. Great company, great people! Come grow with us!

Gateway Management has neglected the Cherry Hill Village Community. There is NO one to manage the property and barely anyone to maintain the property both inside the apartments and on the outside grounds. The individual from corporate that collects the rent, locks herself in the on-site community center and will not let anyone in nor will she answer the phone for tenants that are paying their rent on time. Kevin Ball who is the owner of not only this property but two others AND who is on the Board at Alabama A&M does not follow up nor is he a leader of the business he owns. Answers need to be given to the tenants of Cherry Hill Village as to why 1) there is no one to manage the property? 2) there is someone to collect rent on time but can not provide maintenance orders for a microwave that runs for three nonstop hours? and 3) there are able bodied adults in their 20 s, 30 s and 40 s living in a senior community where the minimal age is 55 years old? I will keep you all updated on the response of this slum lord. Whether it s the management company, GATEWAY MANAGEMENT or the OWNER KEVIN BALL.

I've worked with Gateway Management Company for almost 8 years before joining the GMC team. I've been with Gateway now for almost two and a half years and really enjoy the team environment. Gateway Management is top notch. I am their pest control account manager, which means that I visit many of their properties on a regular basis.
