Glass Doctor is an inferior entity to do business with. The Melbourne, Florida, location was unable to replace the windshield on my 2000 Lexus LX470. This started as a one-hour wait to replace the windshield, which then turned into three weeks with no replacement being made. I brought the vehicle to the storefront and turned it over for the work to be done. When they found that additional parts were required, they approached me with the issue, and no solution was offered. After several minutes of hemming and hawing, I asked the workers to resubmit the claim with the additional parts. Several days later the claim came back denying a $1,000 charge for the rear-view mirror. I found that reasonable and called the Glass Doctor to go ahead with the replacement minus the mirror, which I would replace with an aftermarket part (they already had the glass on site).
I expected that parts (additional molding) would be ordered and that I would get a call to schedule for the work to be done. I was never contacted by them. When I called to find out what was going on, I was told that they had been told that I had canceled the claim. I had not, and a call to the insurance company confirmed that the claim had not been canceled. I called again to tell them this and waited more days for a callback. No call was ever received. When I called again (the fourth time), I was told again that I had canceled the claim. A call to the insurance company again confirmed that the claim was good to work on.
At this point, it had been 3 weeks since my first appointment at Glass Doctor. It is abundantly clear that this company cannot execute work that may have unordinary circumstances for extra work or insurance claim processing. I would not recommend them, especially if an older vehicle is involved or if there is anything extra or outside of the box needing to be done.
