Glades Presbyterian Church began in 1987 when a group from the First Presbyterian Church in Boca Raton began to meet at Loggers Run Middle School on Sunday mornings. Four families held the first service on March 15, 1987 and two years later the congregation had grown to 235 people. Kernie Kostrub became the first full time pastor in April of 1990. He led the church until 2011 when he retired. The church raised money for a sanctuary and purchased land at the corner of Ponderosa Drive and Oriole Country Road which is now known as Judge Winikoff Road. The first service was held in the new church on Christmas Eve in 1994. Ground breaking for the Fellowship Hall and Education Building took place in 1999 and a memorial garden was added in 2004. In 2012 the church celebrated it's 25th Anniversary.

Glades Presbyterian Church is proud supports the food and resource center, Boca Helping Hands which offers offers meals six days a week, distributes food bags for families, and provides help for those in crisis situation. I attended a rummage sale at the church who proceeds went to support their missions. This a very welcoming Presbyterian church serving the Oriole neighborhood and surrounding Boca Raton community.
