The first Slovene real-high school, Jurija Vega Id...
The first Slovene real-high school, Jurija Vega Idrija, is located near the castle. It is an important high school center for Idrija. Officially, Idrija acquired the first Slovene real language in 1901. During the Austrian rule, this was an extremely big act, since the first Slovene language was dominated by the Slovene language language. Construction of the building began in the spring of 1902. It was completed and furnished as early as the summer of 1903. Above the portal stands out the statue of the famous Slovenian mathematician Jurij Vega. The building is built in the classic New Town style. The classrooms are bright and spacious, tidy classrooms and a richly stocked library. There used to be a gym for the school, but unfortunately it did not survive the situation during World War II. The Idrija realm operated until 1926, when it was violently abolished by the Italian fascist authorities. Since 1952, he has been working in the building of the Jurij Vega Grammar School, with occasional other secondary schools being built depending on the reforms. A monument to Idrija miners in the form of a mining drill was erected in front of the school in 1956. The entrance hall was decorated in 1991 by local painters Rudi Sko ir and Nanda Rupnik. Today the school is beautifully maintained.
