Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park Review

The premium pass is worth it if you live nearby and have kids. The park is a great place for young ones to get their energy out. There is a variety of rides geared toward small children. Also there are playgrounds and a water park.

Best Halloween event for kids and family. Lot of fun filled rides.

Gilroy Gardens is a great mini theme park for the little ones. They have lil' car rides, small roller coasters, and their bigger attraction i think is their water park! They also have mini steam trains that take you around the whole park. Getting a membership does pay it self...i would get one preferred membership and the rest regular memberships. The prefered saves u da parking + discounts at the stores & selctive food places at the park..worth it.

This a great place to take your young kids...all the rides are for the under 12 crowd, but there enough thoughtfully done displays to keep the parents intrested also. The food is great, go see the butterflies and you will see things here you have never seen before... If you have a Great America Gold pass you get into Gilroy Gardens for free...

Love this place.. kids from 1-10. No big rides though if you have a thrill seeker.

Great place for a family with young kids to spend a day either in summertime at the water park, or Halloween, or during Xmas holidays. Rides, food, lights, atmosphere all enjoyable.

I really liked the place. Good rides and lots of fun for kids. All the staff members are very nice and helpful. I had lost my jewelry in the park. I had no hope of getting that back but still I put request in lost and found. And I got the call that they found my jewelry. That was the happiest day of my life. I really appreciate their help in finding my precious jewelry. Thanks a lot.

We enjoyed the full day with the children. Especially with toddlers! There are lots of rides for them that also bigger children enjoy. Additionally, the admission was free with the California's Great America gold pass!

A small park that s perfect for little kids and adults. Definitely recommend going! There isn t super long lines for rides and kids are enjoying their time and aren t overwhelmed by the park!

I loved it super relaxing but the water park probably was the best I will definitely be coming back many times after and it helps that we are gold pass members to Great America so we get admission free at bonfante Gardens

We've been going to Gilroy Gardens for years and we continue to go, even though my oldest is ten she still enjoys it. The park is really best for kids up to age 10, however with the new expanded water play area I think kids up to age 12-13 will still enjoy. It's very clean and if you go during the week not too busy. We went on a Friday and because school is still in session there were hardly any lines. Employees seemed friendly and helpful. Bags are searched so hide your snacks. We bring a cooler and had lunch right outside the park under the covered picnic tables. However there are plenty of places to buy food if you didn't bring from home. Also check the website to make sure they are open and what time, because days varies.

Food prices in the park are ridiculously high. Bring your own food and save yourself ~$17 per person.

Great for little kids, great water play area, and reasonable season passes. Most rides with little to no waiting.

This is fun for a family with younger kids. No "hair on fire" rides. But some moderately exhilarating rides for the younger kids. And the water park is great on a hot Gilroy afternoon.

40$ season parking with Great Anerica Gold card. Has small rides and a water park inside. Its beautiful and very fragrant. Many shady spots for hot days.

We went to the Halloween event they started today. It was something different for us to take the kids and they had little stations where they give out candy. The entrance is really lit up nice, but I feel like it can be lit up more where they have the candy places. Besides that it was a nice night out

It's a great place to have fun with your kids! The lines are usually short and they put on special things for holidays

Glass lunch boxes are not allowed, this sounds unresonable and the rule is not available at the entrance. When I asked, they say the rule only written on the website.. We have to dump our packed lunch.

Very cool throwback theme park. Lots of little kid rides and things to do. Also educational areas. Great place for the family

Clean, attentive ride personnel. The vegetation is beautiful and well maintained... walking around the park feels like doing a nature trail! Rides are just the right type for our 4-going-on-preteen daughter. Should she graduate from these rides, we'll just be ready to hop on over to Great America (G.A. gold season passes offer unlimited entrances for both G.A. and G.G.)

Went for the first time to see Luminations, and was really happy with the facilities in general. It wasn't super-crowded considering the event, but I'm sure even at times when the park is bustling, the games, ships, and eateries are more than sufficient to keep everything moving along.

Totally cool braided trees, Beautiful seas of flowers, butterflies a giant atrium for an up close view of living birds, and the music they make, an awesome reptile house, some well placed watering holes IE shallow water streams to cool off and for the younger kids to splash at while on the walk about at least when my family went(it was still called bonafonte gardens).

The rides are fun and worth the admission price, but absolutely do not eat there. Bring your own food, or leave for a meal. Their restaurants are extremely overpriced and the quality is very low.

It fascinates me is a place full of many vegetation waterfalls and beautiful games.

Great fun on a Friday. No wait time! Perfect for the kids! 3, 4 and 7 year olds loved it! So did wife and I!

We have no complaints and if we did, the joy my son has when we are there would make them a moot point.

The place felt like a waste dump. When I got kicked out I was feeling so irritated.

This place is great! It's mostly for small children,buy the entertainment is so up-beat!!

No outside food policy is draconian and not family friendly.

An interesting place that is designed for 5 - 10 year olds. We went during the Halloween theme and struggled through the same 10 Halloween songs anybody would add to a mix for 6 hours. The water parks are fun. The food prices are outrageous and the quality reflects neither the price nor the quality of the region. Looks like a great place to work for teens. Rides were not great. Carnival style games were open but not staffed.

Too crowded, too expensive and so much tiring place.
Definitely Not a place for families loving quite and comfortable atmosphere with relaxed walks at simple playgrounds and parks.

One of the water parks is actually even dangerous. My preschooler was pushed by other kid and injured his leg because asphalt on water play area was of hard material, not the one that is supposed to be for kids. We bought membership before testing this place relying on great reviews and we really regret about it. Please check this place with your preferences before committing yourself and your family to the membership here.

In addition would recommend to pick sum snacks or food from home, as food here is super expensive and super terrible. We paid 45$ for 4 pieces of chicken tenders with French fries in one of the cafes and this was the worst experience with food in Bay Area.

I take my young nephew here at least twice a year. He loves going and always has fun.

Great place for the kids! I went during memorial weekend and it wasn't to packed. Kids seemed to have a great time. Definitely would recommend this place.
