Gilmore was so great! Our guests were RAVING about the food, and working with Kim & Charlie was such a delight. They took all of our wishes and ideas and made them happen deliciously, and were super Covid-conscious and had a lot of ideas on how to make our wedding safer without feeling like a lame conference. Would 100% use them again and maybe will for our five-year anniversary lol
My company uses Gilmore Catering on a fairly frequent basis due to their reasonable prices and delicious food. They are great for formal events (board meetings, etc) and their less formal options are great as well.
I used Gilmore Catering for my holiday party and they did an amazing job! Madeline was great to work with, adjusting to all my last minute changes without a problem! She was very professional, timely and helpful. Charlie, my onsite contact, was also amazing! He was on top of everything and very professional. I will definitely use them again!
I've attended 2-3 events where Gilmore Catering served delicious food and were well staffed and organized. They are top notch in book!
Kim, the person in charge to help me with my wedding catering was rude and impatient. I was surprised by how she spoke with me, considering I was the customer (and bride). Instead of helping make sure the catering ran smoothly for my wedding, I felt more stressed.
For the wedding another employee was present to ensure everything ran smoothly and I'm glad for the switch because she was more professional.
We attempted to have dinner at Gilly's on March 28 following the Trump rally. We waited at the host station for about 20 minutes before the host acknowledged us. He very rudely approached us and asked "do you have a reservation?! You won't be seated for at least 2 hours if you don't have a reservation!" The restaurant was less than half full at the time and we were only requesting for a party of two.
We were not wearing any political garb and my friend is an African American. Based on how rudely we were treated I'm left with only two conclusions. The host was either racist or had hate for anyone he assumed went to see president Trump. Even if he had some other reason to mistreat customers in this manner I'm certain neither of us will be patronizing the BOB in the future. We were graciously accommodated at another BUSIER establishment shortly thereafter.
So happy we used Gilmore Catering for our wedding at Frederik Meijer Gardens. They were so professional and helpful. We did breakfast for dinner at the reception and my only regret is that i didn't get to eat more! It was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Our guests were excited to have breakfast food but said they were not prepared for how great the food was. Would definitely recommend for an event of any kind. They have comparable rates to other local catering companies and excellent service. Would be curious to try the brick oven pizza - it was our first choice but we were steered (thankfully!) In another direction due to the temps outside in March not being conducive to producing a quality pizza.
I have been managing events in Grand Rapids for 20 years and have worked with Gilmore Group for most of that time. They are amazing in every way - so good, in fact, that when it came time to plan my daughter's wedding they were my choice for venue and caterer. I highly recommend them for any event.
I am not typically one to write reviews on things because I am a firm believer in forming your own opinion. That being said I felt the need to post something about Gilmore Catering not because of how impressed I was with their services but because of the multitude of compliments we received after using them. In the two years I have used them for client appreciation events in the Grand Rapids area they have received nothing but rave reviews from our clients. Each year dozens of people have made it a point to tell us how amazing their food was and how impressed they were. In an event setting like ours where everything is geared to make the client happy and show them our appreciation for their business there is no better compliment than to hear how happy our clients were with their experience.
We had Gilmore cater our holiday party last Saturday and I cant say enough about how they performed. Excellent food, excellent service. I appreciate the attention to detail by Madeline and her entire team. they made the entire process easy and exceeded our expectations.
