I was there from 74' to 77'. They taught me how to mature and be a respectful citizen. Great memories of Brother John Schusler, Father Fisher, and other helpful staff. A great place to learn and grow.
Under no circumstances should anyone send their children to this facility. The therapists lie to your face, the living conditions are unsanitary, they don't respond to phone calls or emails and when you do finally get a meeting they are focused on getting you out as soon as they can without providing much information as to how your child is doing. My daughter was there for 7 months and finished their program. Or so we thought, afterwards they contacted her school and probation officer with discharge information that was 100% the opposite of what we both discussed for 7 months and what they physically gave us. Two entirely different documents! They claimed they kicked her out and told us she progressed thru and completed their program. No one in their facility is on the same page, therapists, doctors, psychiatrists, supervisors, no one. We sent our daughter here because we knew we needed more help for her than we could provide. Now, 7 months later, it's obvious all we did was support false pretenses and we didn't provide our daughter with any indication to the courts or schools that she was putting effort into her personal growth. This facility should be shut down immediately, no parent seeking help for their children should be blindsided like this.
Gibault is an amazing place that helps so many children in Indiana. I recommend your full support of this institution.
I was there for 7 months, 2017-2018. and I didn't succeed at all when I was there, I was too focused on leaving and not working towards my treatment. I now look back at this place with respect, and thankfulness because the little effort I put into this place actually helped me. I now make music for millions of my fans, and making good grades in school. Also I'm proud to say that Gibault helped me mature and have that stable life that a normal 16 year old like me should have. I'd also like to thank the staff and my supervisor for helping me out in my hardest times and for putting up with me. This place is a life changer. Thanks!
Gibault has increased pay; brought retirement plans back for employees; and does a lot of incentives for staff. A Chatter Box Cafe was made for our staff to be able to network with peers and have a cup of coffee. An accredited school; Trauma Informed Care facility; Motivational Interviewing Stages of Change; Independent Liviving Program; New Movie Cinema for children; and theme based recreation contest and activities. A lot of community provider trainings and fairs hosted on campus. This facility has kept up with the needs of society and its youth and continues to strive to stay ahead of the latest trends; best practices and knowledge of today's youths!
I go to gibault right now the place is hell. The food is horrible. I'm not getting any treatment at all. All most the staff care about is getting the pay check and going home. I don't recommend this place to any one who needs helps this place makes me more aggressive then i'm already am.
I was a resident at gibault a female in the open unit known as MGW my name is Rachel I will say the staff at gibault where nice all they wanted was to help but i will admit I was deceived at times. But I will say I am home now and I'm doing much better so my condolences to the staff that worked so hard to help me Shout outs to Ms.Washington Mr.Brown and Ms.Pratt. love you guys I wish to speak to you soon!
Gibault really changed me in SO many ways. I used to always tell the staff that I couldn't do it, but they helped me know I could and that I am a strong individual. The food isn't all that great but I truly recommend this placement, it had really good structure in some cases, great treatment, great therapists, great ccm's, supervisors, teachers, and staff!! I enjoyed meeting some of the people I met here. Now I am happily home... I love to give HUGE a shout out to Ms.Norwood,Ms.Scoot, Ms.Henry, Ms.Sagesse, Ms.Brown, Mr.Lowry, Mr.Russell, and Mr.Quince! On bro I was in that mf chilling staff was cool asl ms.Mahan and ms.saylor saved me so much but the treatment is kinda easy just have to apply yourself I m home now doing ok ig would never go back there tho.
