The best southern food I've ever had...really! Everyone at our table just raved over their entrees and appetizers. Plus, we had wonderful service. Prices are a bit high, but so worth it!!! If you are in DC, don't miss this place!!

Great food, great service! The atmosphere was definitely unique. High end take on southern classics. I ordered the deconstructed jambalaya. It was like I was in New Orleans again! Delish! And the cornbread breadsticks were beyond amazing! The service was superior and surprisingly, there was no wait!?!? You ve got to visit Georgia Browns! You won t be disappointed!

This is one of my goto spots when I'm in D.C. Soul food at it finest will be served here. When the massive plate of perfected delicious delights arrive at the table, one can only rejoice for such a great dining experience. Also, make sure to get reservations for dinner.. It could be a long wait for a table! Enjoy!

Great place. Little annoying that if you're with a group you can't get drinks seperately from the bar, but the service staff was good about keeping them coming. We had a large party though and everyone's food was nothing short of gourmet.

Fine southern Dining was just fine. I was really excited when my friend and I decided to come here for restaurant week. The first thing I noticed were the different smells that hit you when you walk through to be seated. Some good and some just took me a back. When we were seated, I could already tell that the conversation between my friend and I were going to have to shout to chat. It was rather noisy between the people and music. I also realized how busy it was, it seemed like a lot of workers running around every where.

We decided to share the Fried green tomatoes, deviled egg, fried chicken and Gumbo. For dessert we got the peach cobbler.

I was rather unimpressed with the deviled egg. The white part seemed dry and aged. The yolk looked dry and looked as if it was prepared several days prior and just waiting to be eaten. Taste wise, it was okay.

The fried green tomato was really good, it was a good texture, and the tomato fondue was good and the green Tomato Relish it came with worked well as a whole.

The gumbo was just okay. I was expecting more being a southern cuisine. It felt like it lacked real robust flavor, even the andouille sausage was okay, which is weird because i usually like it. My friend felt that she got bites of good and bites of okay. I just wanted bites of great...It was suppose to have Shrimp, Andouille Sausage, Crab, Chicken and Duck Confit which made me feel like i got almost nothing of each protein.

The fried chicken was cooked well. I did not feel like it was dry. If you want it really crispy you better eat it fast though. The collard greens that came on the side were very unappetizing. There a small amount of smashed Redskin Potatoes, which i think was good, but not enough of it was on the plate for me to gauge how good.

The dessert was just okay. I love peaches and cobblers, but i thought i could make a better one at home. There was too much of the Cinnamon Whipped Cream.

Additionally, i felt rushed by the server as i know it was restaurant week and they are trying to seat as many people as possible. In addition, it was so loud that i had a hard time communicating with the waiter and vis versa.

I prob won't come back, but glad i checked it off my list.

I just left Georgia Brown's in DC and I was very disappointed. I had heard so much about this restaurant and I was eager to visit and check it out for myself. My boyfriend, who is a chef, was also disappointed as well. We had the cowboy steak, which was pricey, but amazing! No complaints and worth the 39 dollars we paid. We started the meal off with the cream of crab soup. I took one bite of the soup and didn't finish it. The soup needed salt and tasted like something was definitely missing! It had no flavor! Definitely not with the 12 dollars for a little over a cup serving size .My most disappointing moment came with the 7 dollars side of Mac and cheese. Now being a southern style restaurant, there are certain standards that must be kept. The Mac and cheese had over cooked noodles to the point that the entire texture was a gummy paste! I would have rather eaten an entire box of Kraft Mac and cheese with the powdered mixture....that tastes much better than the Mac and cheese at Georgia Brown. Finally, the signature sweet potatoe cheese cake was not much to be desired as well. I'm not sure what was going on tonight, however, for the price of the food, I expected better tasting and quality food....oh, and the corn bread was very dry and so were the biscuits! Don't waste your time, money, or taste buds on this place. This place is waaaaayyyyy overpriced for the quality of food.

Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent ambiance. This is by far my favorite restaurant in DC and they NEVER disappoint. I will be back soon!! P.S. Bob is an awesome waiter. Check him out. What goes hand in hand with great service? A great personality/sense of humor and Bob's got it.

Went during happy hour, but the bar was packed and couldn't get a seat. The hostess said you gotta get there at 5 or earlier. The food and drinks were expensive, but the meal portion was large. The service was great. Our food came out really quick. I ordered the fried chicken that's served with greens and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the meal.

I went there for Easter Brunch with a group of friends. We had a reservation in the afternoon and we were seated promptly. We waited for about 20 minutes for a waiter to come take our drink order (we all just ordered sodas). We waited about another 20 minutes and still didn't have our drinks. While we were waiting for drinks I said to the rest of our group that if it's taking this long to get our drinks then we should get our food order in right away so when they finally did bring the drinks (about 50 minutes after we had been seated) we knew exactly what we wanted. We placed the food order and began the long wait.

They are doing an all you can eat small plate style brunch so we anticipated that like other restaurants the plates would trickle out of the kitchen a few at a time as they were ready. We thought at least the salads should come out fairly quickly. After another 30 minutes we asked the waiter where our food was and he said they only bring it when all of the small plates are ready at the same time. After waiting over an hour from when we had placed the order and still no food we were starting to get frustrated. We'd already been at the restaurant almost 2 hours. I looked around and noticed none of the other tables around us had food either. A woman at the table next to us said are you looking for your food. I replied yes it's been over an hour since we placed the food order. Her entire table turned to us and said it's been 2 hours since we placed ours. Clearly they weren't happy either.

At this point. One of the members of our party got up and went to the restroom and found a manager and complained about the situation. They weren't very helpful and just said the kitchen was "a little behind". I'm not sure why they were behind it was 4:30pm by this time and most of the brunch crowd had already cleared out. By 5pm 2.5 hours after we had been seated, we still didn't have our food so we got up and left to go to a different restaurant to try to salvage some sort of Easter meal. We let the manager know why we were leaving and they just said ok. I feel like the managers didn't really care about how bad the restaurant was operating.

I love the food here! We just visited in celebration of our 10th wedding anniversary. My husband proposed to me after having dinner here ten years ago and I still love the food. Everything is tasty!

Wonderful stylish comfort food with a Southern flavor. Exceptional service for a party of seven on a busy Friday evening without advance reservations .. They made us feel welcome and fed us very well indeed.

Great drinks, got us to our table a bit early, food was terrific. Would have given them a 5, but they askedd to see my CC receipt about 4 times including as I was walking out. They lost the CC receipt that I signed.

It was great getting a table outside, but unfortunately, the place settings were dirty with food crumbs and other debris. The food arrived quickly, but was very poor. The cornbread and biscuits were dry and hard, the beer-can chicken was over seasoned, and the macaroni and cheese was an embarrassingly gloppy mess. Some bright spots were the vegetarian sampler's fried green tomato and bean patty- both were crispy, moist, and delicious. Overall, a disappointing meal.

So the food was old by the time I got there (Yea they served old bad food to late brunchers) and cold, the service was good but at 120 bucks for two people and another 30 bucks for two drinks and 12 bucks for parking the place just isn't worth it even with the live music...if the food was better if say go...but I say eat elsewhere. The one star was for the vibe...the place had a good vibe...but most places can deliver a good vibe with good food.

The food is always delicious. My husband loves their Shrimp and Grits. He s a NOLA native and he says it s the only place that gets it right. I personally love their collard greens and the Shugar and Spice pork chop has to be the best thing since slice bread. We are totally foodies and they ALWAYS get it right.

Excellent customer service, I live in Central PA and had some military friend come from out of town to DC. I wanted to take them out to dinner while they were in town and Georgia Brown was the first place I thought of. I called the restaurant to see if I needed to make a reservations. I spoke to one of the manager and her name was Najah, she told me that to be on the safe side, make a reservation, and if I need to change anything to call back. When we got there Najah made sure that she visited our table and to make sure that we were taken care of. With us being military vets, it made us feel special. Najah was an awesome host, and the food was great.

Great Food! Great Service!!! I had Stuffed Shrimp with honey yams and mac&cheese; my husband had Seafood Pasta; we finished with Peach Cobbler and Jack Daniel Chocolate Ice Cream All was mmm mmm good BUT it was the service that was extraordinary! Our server was Diamond and she was just that - A Diamond! She knew the menu in full detail so well that I could taste the food before I put it in my mouth - She is a one of a kind jewel!!! We look forward to visiting DC again so we can eat at Georgia Brown's again.

Average restaurant with lower than average main courses. The apps and cocktails were awesome but the fried chicken was lackluster and the shrimp contained random pieces of shells. It is a shame to see how this place has turned out.
