The St Ann suite entrance is extremely dangerous. There is a narrow brick platform with steps leading into the suite and it doesn't have a railing. I fell off the platform, scraped off the tip of my toe off, got road rash on my knee and arm, sprained my wrist and ankle. There was a trail of blood going back into the apartment. I could see there was a security camera, but they would not share the footage with me. I reached out to the owners to help pay for my wheelchair and medical bills but they've ignored all of my pleas. OH, and this was my bachelorette weekend so it was completely ruined by their negligence. Its been 2 months, im still scarred, and i still havent heard back about reimbursement for my medical bills. if i could give zero stars i would.

This was the second time I have stayed at the Gentry House and I truly can imagine my experience of New Orleans any differently. This family business is something remarkable. First time was with my fiance in 2015 when Andrew's father was running the business and this most recent time in 2019 was a girls trip with Andrew running the business. The hospitality that the Andrew and his wife give is magical, they have such a cute charming family. They are so friendly and helpful to make you feel so welcome, especially with the fresh delivered croissants EVERY morning. These two never skip a beat to make you feel right at home. The building has so much history and charm, exactly what you want to experience for your stay inside the french quarter. Its in a perfect location of the quarter right on St. Ann a few blocks from Bourbon, Royal, and Jackson Square. I cannot wait to stay here once again this next time I'm in New Orleans, I honestly cannot imagine staying anywhere else.

We stayed at the gentry house for our first trip ever to New Orleans. It was the perfect experience. The cost was better than hotels and the location was ideal walking distance to almost everything. The customer service along with the peaceful escape from the chaos of the French quarter was worth every penny. It really did feel like a home away from home.

I highly recommend staying here to anyone considering a trip to New Orleans. Even while relaxing in your room it still feels like your are getting the Louisiana experience.

St Louis room. No shower, just a trickle (host aware- still rented unit). Large hole in bathroom wall covered with paper and painter's tape. Tub peeling. Floor tiles in kitchen coming up. Dingy, old furnishings. Carpet is dirty. Musty ols smell. Kitchen floor filthy. Whole place needs Reno! Beware, look elsewhere.

Would recommend anyone looking for a really great price and unbeatable location convenient to everything Bourbon St to stay here. The staff was totally lovely, the room (we stayed in the St Ann) was massive and CLEAN, the pastries were so delicious, AND they have the nicest dog that lives there with the owners! 10/10 would stay at Gentry House again the next time we are in New Orleans. Thank you for being fabulous hosts!!

Great little spot for a vacation. The rooms could use some love and the place is showing age but Gentry is one of thoughs places you almost dont want them to fix. The age is part of the charm. All the rooms are suits so you really can have a home base for your trip and that adds a bit of comfort to a city always partying.
