I have been with GCU for 3 months now. I am on my 2nd class online with them. I am not kidding when I say that I am satisfied with the staff and professors I have and is currently doing my studies with. My counselor had been very supportive and informative. Whatever questions I have she responds according to her best knowledge. I have tried online support too with my first class and they were amazing. I am still getting myself accustomed to the online class but because of the help I am getting, I feel confident into doing my school work. I have talked to other universities before deciding to come here. What made me decide was my counselor. Despite the fact that I was in talks with other schools, she still helped me into asking the right questions and what I needed to know. She had been transparent and honest with me from the very beginning. I told her that some comments here did affect me quite a bit. As a student,I personally want to get the best support and tools for my schoolwork since I am paying for it. My counselor always made sure that I understand what is the content of the papers she needed me to sign, or get back to me as soon as she can if I have any questions. It is not a cheap school but so far I am getting the worth of what I paid for. I hope and wish the other students will be able to resolve their issues with the school. I have a long way to go into finishing my program. But I feel good about my decision and looking forward to finishing my Bachelors here. I am excited to fly and see the university in person on April. If you are looking around for universities, do not hesitate to ask them what you needed to know. The class online was intimidating at first, but you will definitely understand how it works because of the tools like videos to help you work around it. The professors I have had were both hands on and very helpful. They always ask if there is nothing they can help you understand the assignments given or quizzes. The syllabus and materials are all given in a layout where it is easy to understand and navigate. Go Antelope s..

It has been a journey for me to go back to school, but I am almost done, and it is all thanks to the help of my academic counselor Tasha Dikes. Grand Canyon University has done a great job employing kind, professional, and caring staff. It is very rare that Tasha is not available, but the few times she was not, the other counselors were kind and helpful. Tasha has been my rock! She gives me as much information and encouragement as humanly possible. Her consistency and help has made my journey a lot more possible. I'm so grateful for her as my counselor.

I am currently enrolled in their online Professional Counseling Masters program, and I graduated from GCU with B. S. in Educational Studies. I have had a very good experience with my professors and my classes. There were many bumps in the road with counselors changing unexpectedly, and creating some confusion, but after all everything worked out. The communication with professors was superb. I understand the frustration of many people because I suffered that frustration in the past. Right now I am fine, things are simple and half way into my masters program. Soon I might have to change programs again due to some personal situations, but I think my counselor will look after my interests and needs. But so far so good. I've been happy with their program.

I received my Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership from GCU. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and worked very hard in all my classes. The online format requires a lot of work and focus, so organization is key. The professors were great, very helpful and encouraging. I've had a GREAT experience with GCU and was very appreciative of all their help and encouragement. I am starting my Doctoral studies at GCU next month. I am very excited to reach this milestone in my life and am very happy that GCU is a major part in the process.

Interesting, I had an issue with a class and requested information regarding the grievance process after other avenues did not lead to resolution. I was informed that there were none, the only option provided was the end of course survey. Now reading the reviews I find that there is and entire department devoted to addressing student issues. Hm, maintaining the satisfaction and standards expected of an institution of higher learning are a questionable priority for this school. As a side note, I did feel that I obtained a very well balanced informative education and feel that I have learned a great deal about my chosen area of study and the importance and ability to set and achieve goals. Overall the education aspect is good, but student support services definitely need improvement.

We had our son sign up for classes under their Dean Scholarship. I did not want to as I felt because of his Asperger's he would need a lot of help as he had in high school. I was assured that he would not have any problems as the school would monitor his progress and inform us if there were any problems with him keeping up his grade point average as it was required for the scholarship. I was told that they had the best tutoring system of any school and quarantined us that if any problems or concern arose we the parents would be informed by the school.
As it turns out he did have problems, went to tutoring many times but found little help, tutors were either too busy or not interested in helping him. As a result he did not maintain the grade point average required so lost his scholarship funding.
The school GCU lied to us about their great tutoring program, lied to us about keeping us informed of his GPA. The school di absolutely nothing to help our son out> I told them that he will say everything is just fine so you have to look at the grades but they never did. My wife and I feel that the school GCU failed us everywhere but taking the money, they were good at doing that so I gave them one star. If they had of been honest and not told us they would take care of him while at school we would have saved the money and not sent him. Do not listen to their line about their great tutors and follow up etc. as there is none.

I have nothing to say but I love it here! The staff is amazing and they reach out just to see how everything is going. They treat you like family. The application process and financial aid process is very easy they do all of the work and are very timely. The classes are user friendly online and the nursing program is flexible with your work schedule. I would recommend to everyone.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I applied to this university about a year ago during my senior year. I reached out to an admissions representative and I sent in my transcripts and my scores and I was told that I did not meet the criteria. I understood their reasoning and I accepted their decision. About 3 months ago the same admissions representative reached out to me and told me that their was a possibility that she could admit me after all for the fall term. I was conflicted because I had already been admitted into a different university, but once again I sent in my updated transcripts and scores. I got my hopes up that their would be a possibility that gcu would admit me after all because I had my heart set on this school before I applied. Well it has been exactly two months since I was told that my transcripts had been received and would be reviewed for a decision and I have not heard one thing. I am upset that they reached out to me once again and I paid money to send the necessary paper work out to them for gcu to be completely unprofessional and not even send me an email to give me their decision and not reply back to me at all. I understand that I did not meet the criteria and I am not upset about not being admitted, I am upset about the way the situation was handled. Horrible admissions staff and I am glad that I was admitted into a different university with staff that genuinely care about your issues and try their hardest to resolve them.

Beware. I inquired about the cost per credit after the military/first responders discount and was told I had to submit my FAFSA. Even after stressing I did not want to barrow money that way, I was told this was standard. Once I completed the required paperwork, I was enrolled and pushed to start online that day, without a quote. The claim was I had the cost calculator in my email. That was false. Was never in my inbox, but the enrollment email was. Weird how that works. I had to demand the cost and was quoted the price listed on the website. $470 a credit hour. Total waste of time, after looking around and calling a family member I discovered that a quota might have been the pushing factor. Even after telling my contact I wasn t interested in starting this year, she continued to push and stress how it wasn t that hard and get a two week break for Christmas . Disingenuous and lacking certain values the school boast.

I was simply trying to budget for next year and possibly enroll here. This experience changed my mind. Can t speak for the actual campus or quality of the classes so I apologize in advance if that s the info you re searching for.

Maybe management pushes this practice so I m not mad at the individual, more the process. However others need to be aware.

To make a very long story short, I enrolled after ...

To make a very long story short, I enrolled after my jr college stint and joined the education program. I decided to extend my college career by 18 months because I wanted a dual-Bachelors in Elementary and Special Ed. I spent 2 + years here and all of the sudden they cut me off, saying they couldnt find my previous transcripts. $27,000 later. Yeah, $1800/class! I've been fighting to regain access and in the meantime I asked for a copy of the classes I took so i could see how many units i still needed. On the transcript, it stated that 2 of my classes I took, (grades: A and B) were no longer valid. What?!?! They said they timed-out. How in the heck does an $1800 college class expire? I still haven't started this fight because I've been busy dealing with the other problem. It makes me sick to my stomach and makes me think GCU is a total fraud! College classes shouldn't ever expire! I've attended collegebforn20 years, and never before has a college told me one of my classes expired and I had to take it again! Once you pass a class, that's it. It's done. No more. This is so disappointing. And now that my first issue is nearly resolved (NO THANKS to gcu), I will be getting an attorney and fighting this.

Honestly, an amazing university. I was a student in the graduate leadership program and left prematurely due to a medical concern, however I was absolutely floored by the curriculum and class structure. Having experience as both a traditional ground campus student and online student at other universities, I was extremely impressed by the professionalism of the faculty and staff as well as the structure of the classes themselves (certainly not saying my experience elsewhere was any lesser!). I was extremely engaged in my coursework and felt very motivated in that I truly was working to achieve my purpose in my assignments and discussion. I was also pleasantly surprised at the level at which I felt challenged. I could not recommend this university more.

I LOVE THIS UNIVERSITY!!!!

I LOVE THIS UNIVERSITY!!!!

Grand Canyon University is ONE OF THE BEST UNIVERSITY S this side of Heaven ..I am so grateful God has allowed this institution to be part of my life s / educational journey. I have experienced so many challenges during this phase of my life. Deaths, surgeries/health issues, financial woes, and other family trials have been just a few of the hills I had to overcome during this educational journey. Those hills have been made straight with the support and help from my counselors (Brittany Dickerson- Student Services Counselor III and Stephanie Lombardi- Enrollment Counselor) and teachers. The Lord has been Awesome with the support from my classmates also!! Going to a Christian University has truly helped to keep me uplifted and pushing forward towards accomplishing my goal of received Master s Degree in Psychology with a Concentration in Life Coaching. If anyone is seeking a University to support them throughout their educational journey Register at Grand Canyon University.

Oh.....I have 4 children ages (12, 11, 10 and 6), work a full time job as an auditor, married and I am working on my book about my life story of abuse I experienced from my birth father for over 30 years of my life.

If I am able to push through school, so can you......Sign up!

I have been with GCU for about 4 years now have been a great student and have always paid on time for my classes. Over the past years the school has been great and I enjoy the online classes. Recently though I struggled with a class and attempted to get help when I became less than a point short for passing the class. I was told there was nothing more that can be done to get me my half point and that there was absolutely no flexibility. This has put a financial strain on me and now I must retake the class due to missing it by less than a point. I thought GCU was committed to their students success but from the experience I had with them it feels like they are not, I have never seen a school not willing to help or have flexibility with students that are very close. I was informed that making up assignments and points are at the instructors discretion and when I reached out asking for help I was informed nothing could be done. it has been a very negative experience for me and I can not wait to be done with my classes and to move on from this school.

It was the best experience ever!! From the enrollment counselors to the Site Supervisors, I could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was very helpful and the work was very relevant to my field of study (Elementary Education). I have continued to make gains in my field and provide quality instruction to my students. Thank you for high standards and quality instructors that made my experience quite enjoyable and my skills as an educator stand out among the best.

If you are a Californian and are thinking about go...

If you are a Californian and are thinking about going through GCU for your CA credential, DO NOT DO IT. Gather around kiddies, I am going to tell you a story.
I signed up for GCU following my graduation in December 2017. I spoke with Jeremy, an admissions counselor, on the phone about the program in great detail, and he explained that I would come out of the program with my Master s in Education, my CA Preliminary Credential AND an AZ teaching credential (which I don t need, and will never need, but whatever, it comes with). I asked him to clarify that I would be receiving BOTH a CA and AZ credential, and he said YES. I then proceed to sign up and begin my first class in the program.
I was about a week into the course when I interviewed for a teaching position in my area. After the interview went very well, I contacted Jeremy again to completely confirm and clarify that I would be finishing the program in May of 2019 with a CALIFORNIA preliminary credential. He then confirmed YES. Okay, cool. But then, two days later, I get a call from HR in the district I had interviewed in, letting me know that they had contacted CTC and found that GCU is NOT on their list of approved programs for a CA credential, and that reciprocity through GCU (converting their AZ credential to a CA credential) is a particularly difficult and messy process. I called Jeremy immediately and he hastily (and sounding quite annoyed) informed me that I would NOT be receiving a CA teaching credential, but an AZ credential that I would need to get converted. My timeline for being hired and beginning teaching does not allow for such a conversion process, especially since I had been informed that it was not a simple or short process.
So, I was deceived and mislead on both fronts. So, I contact Ashley, who oversees student services and financial aid and all of that, and she informs me that I still owe $1700 for my first class. Mind you, I spent a WEEK in that class, and did like two discussion boards. Plus, I was lied to. I asked her to waive the fee, and of course she said no, but transferred me to her supervisor, who did not answer my call, return my call, and has not returned a call I have made to him since. So small claims court it is then!
I am now doing an intern program through the office of Ed, and I am lucky that I got in on such short notice, but to hell if I am paying them for a program I barely started, all because they were not forthcoming about what exactly I was getting into.
So anyway, BEWARE!

After much online research and BSN programs comparisons, I chose GCU and completed their accelerated BSN online program which consists of 9 months if you meet all the required pre-reqs and hold a nursing license. My experience was phenomenal. The online platform is user friendly and very straight forward. The professors varied, but most were nothing less than amazing, very engaged and always with their best intention towards making sure all students understood the level of performance expected in all assignment, tests, and group projects. All the counselors and service advisors also made ur a point to keep in touch throughout the entire course, making sure your taking full advantage of the school and what your specific program has to offer. I had a great experience overall. Also, I flew in to Phoenix for Graduation and both my family and I were pleased with the way the whole program was organized. Thanks again GCU for making my dreams come true !

The instructors for the university were great. However, the administration falsifies their doctoral program. The university sells the program as a fast track, completing in 3 4 years. After a year in the program, during the residency, the administration will tell you 3 4 years is almost impossible and it is really a 7 year program.

I loved my learning experience at GCU! Classes were stimulating and challenging but do-able. The professors were very supportive and available -- it is apparent they want the students to do well! And the icing on the cake is being able to learn how Chrisitan principles and beliefs tie into our learning and daily work. It was a joy to be able to tie my spirituality into my daily classwork and therefore, into my profession. I truly enjoyed every class and am thankful for this opportunity. GO LOPES!

I had obtain both a Master s of Science in Professional Counseling and a Post Graduate of Counseling Certificate in Trauma. I feel that GCU has allowed me greater opportunities in my field of studies, because of the amount of education and practicum I had to complete in order to graduate. I highly would recommend anyone who is wanting to go into my field of study to give GCU a try. ( I would also recommend talking to Derek Edison who is the university counselor that helped me with enrollment, he stuck by me throughout my years with GCU).

The online program is terrible; little to no oversight and the reviews come with no improvements. The school is overpriced as you are paying thousands of dollars for a textbook to teach yourself. Find another school if you expect to go to college to learn and interact with professors who actually WANT to teach.

Very little communication with counselors and professors. If you expect to spend 4 hours a day outside of class studying-prepare to double that time to teach yourself the material.

I will say not all professors are terrible, but in my two years at the school, I have had only 3 professors that I could confidently give high ratings to, everyone else is average or below average.

Doesn't even deserve ONE star. I took time out of my day only to find out people leave at 4 p.m, not 5. So I wasted gas and time, study time no less. I came to speak w an advisor about their nurs9ng programs...and not one was available. Guess you guys aren't hurting too bad for students. You just took yourselves off my list of school choices by not being available, so for that I guess I should say thank you. The selection is being narrowed down...and it won't be GCU

The course work experience at GCU is great. The courses are laid out well, easy to follow, and instructors are (mostly) helpful and prompt in feedback/replies. The dissertation experience is in need of some extensive modifications. The process is not set up to help learners get through the process smoothly. There is an insane amount of hoop jumping and constantly changing requirements. Students are not valued by the university as a whole and unless a learner has a chair/committee that is invested in them and their success I would not see one completing. Do not believe that you will finish around 3 years...it has taken most of us MUCH longer than that and much more money.

Terrible experience trying to enroll in the PhD program. Paperwork was lost, promises for actions not followed through with, start date moved several times. The only thing that went well was financial aid. I went all the way up to the Dean of Doctoral Studies to try to get things resolved and communication improved. I finally looked at the chaos as a premonition of what I was about to endure in the program and looked elsewhere for my educational goal. I am now enrolled in a similar PhD program at another university.

I am an online student at Grand Canyon University currently in my junior year. I really appreciate GCU for providing me with an extremely helpful Student Advisor. Tasha (SA) is always willing to help with my classes or provide feedback if I have questions about my degree. She really goes above and beyond the call of duty. The GCU online class forum LoudCloud is easy to use and all of our class documents are easily accessible. My teachers usually have great feedback and have a three day turnaround on grading assignments. I have no complaints about this school and would recommend it to any of my friends and family! I will most likely be coming back for my masters degree due to the excellent quality of education I have received thus far!

Not too bad. Some instructors are pretty easily and others are not. It is unfortunate instructors cannot make their curriculum. The school does this along with discussion questions. Not easy to have conversations on line so be prepared you will not get all you should.

My major for a Master degree was way too easy for the degree and the school could, and they should, make classes much more challenging than they are. Want an exceptionally easy degree without much work attend here.

I am finishing up my freshman year right now and I can say that this school is a terrible mess. My first semester I was enrolled in biology and I was put in a class with a professor that hardly speaks english. I was Enrolled in an english class where the professor would not help oitside of class unless I went to the writing center during her working hours. However, she had about 5 hours a week and I stood in line waiting for over two hours to get a 10 minute meeting with her. I was put in a biology lab class where the teacher was learning the material at the same time we were. I ended up staying two hours past the already three hour class because she had no clue how to do the experiment. The math classes are online based so you have to do everything a certain way or you get zero credit and will fail. There is not enough trained staff, so the school has a ton of student workers and nobody ever knows what is going on. I was assured that one of my scholarships was applied but when I did the math it was not. The staff lies and tells you anything to get you to enroll but do not go here!

One of the biggest mistakes I made in attending this University was believing that an open invitation from this college was a sign from God to pursue my courses here. Instead of attending other universities, I believed that attending this University would be beneficial due to it being Christian (meaning nice folk) and offering a scholarship based upon my grades. However, the environment that I lived within lead to my downfall. Two roommates that would get drunk/high, play loud music, and brag about their stories of women they met weekly. That is not the type of man I am, nor was I planning on becoming like that either. I looked for a solution to escape this environment. The first step I took was to talk to my roommates and tell them to knock it off. This worked for a week, until my roommates started up again and they stopped caring. I then requested to different RA's (Residential Advisers), if other dorms were open to be moved into. I told them that the environment that I lived within was horrible and was affecting my sleep cycle. The two different RA's both informed me that dorms are at maximum capacity and they cannot move me currently. I then followed up with friends and asked their opinion on this manner since I could not receive help from the RA. They told me that they have seen multiple dorms with openings due to people not moving in. I requested to my Ra's once more if a move was possible and was told that it is not. Getting help from Ra's was out of question now. I tried toughing it out and attending my classes. One could argue that attempting to tough it out could have been my issue but I disagree and state that during this time period. The two weeks of the return policy had passed and I was now fully enrolled within my school semester. Trapped in a sense to attempt my best within my school year. I maintained A's the following weeks but failed within sleeping properly due to loud music, drunks making a lot of noise, and random people coming into the dorm room. It got to the point where I was maintaining 2-4 hours of sleep daily trying to perform my best. Multiple days I crashed from lack of sleep and began to watch my grades go from A's to B's to A's once more. I fell asleep for 16 hours and when I woke up I realized that maintaining good grades would mean that intervention would have be taken. I tried different sources but my words would come out jumbled in a sense. People did not understand me and began to ignore me due to the discomfort I had.The people that heard me out were the ones in a group called Life group. They helped me by showing understanding and offering their views on my predicament. However, I already attempted their views in contacting a RA, and trying to wait until next semester for the two guys to be dropped due to low grades. A few days later I packed my things and took my leave. I suffered from depression, chronic sleep deprivation, and a faith crisis. I was angry at God for punishing me and it seemed that those two roommates had nothing punished towards them. Instead they were living the life and enjoying themselves. I now realize that God wanted me to learn from this ordeal that Universities that claim to be Christian does not necessarily mean that everyone is a good person. This also does not mean that others will have the same experience like me but be warned that not everyone will help you out down there. It might of been a pricey 7,000$+ in debt lesson but I am happy to have learned it and share it with those around me so that others do not have to experience what I experienced.

GCU is a terrible school to attend. They don't do anything to try and assist there students. Anyone that I ever meet I will never recommend this school for there eduction. When they create mistakes they try and find anyone to blame but themselves, and then they take no account for there actions. In my own opinion this school should be closed because of the actions of staff and teachers. All I have to say is I can't believe how terrible this school is its a complete joke to all other school. It's worse than a high school!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON GCU - IT'S A FAKE EDUCAT...

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON GCU - IT'S A FAKE EDUCATION - They Dont't Even have a Library -- seriously --- The whole University is run by upper class White Conservative Christians who are very racist and prejudice under the guise of being self-righteous devote "Christian"". It's basically a sham, facade, a "show". They trying to make make White Christian Racism more palatable by deleting any social issues, history, or learning revolving around America or Western society. Despite this White Christian Racist Spin on course content you will want to Get a Real Education from a real university. The Lead Faculty at GCU modify the curriculum to make it "Pro-White Christian". GCU is very hypocritical - full time faculty, administrators, and employees and students are very prejudice and discriminatory against racial minorities. Forget about the Administration or Faculty taking ANY action they will ignore any problems or issues, or, make you out to be the problem in order to dissuade any complaints against the college or White Employees. GCU hires primarily Upper Class White People into permanent positions, but they will hire a few racial minorities here and there, every semester to make it appear to be ""diverse"". They Place Foreign Exchange students in highly visible positions - front office to make it appear diverse. It's a revolving door for racial minorities in the organization. Christianity among students & faculty is a joke here. -- Jesus -- would not go here -- they wouldn't even Hire Him because he was dark middle eastern man.... Don't waste your money. Get a real education at ASU or UofA at least you will be studying real world problems without the fake "pro-white christian" spin. THE FACULTY & DEAN --- I.E. FACULTY SERVICES --- ARE MODIFYING TEXT BOOKS TO EXCLUDE ANY INFORMATION THAT IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH A """CONSERVATIVE UPPER CLASS WHITE CHRISTIAN"" VIEW. Altering content is more like brain washing. IF WANT TO REALLY LEARN ABOUT THE WORLD -- DO NOT GO HERE.... They will also Terminate and Fire People if you speak up against the college and White Employees. If you speak up against Muslims, or Non-whites they will promote you. The Upper Class White Christians running this place WILL Do all of these things with a pleasant smile, very polite, and appropriate. They will hurry you out the back door. The whole college is basically ONLINE --- THEY CAN LOCK YOU OUT JUST BY REVOKING A PASS CODE. THE HAVE A VIRTUAL LIBRARY......LOL...

I graduated from Grand Canyon with a degree in Master of Education. Recently, I was considered for a job as a Special Education teacher in one of the school districts in my area. I have been looking for job for a while and finally was presented with an opportunity to teach. I contacted the school to fill out my education verification for the state of Virginia so I can receive my provisional license while I work toward getting a State of VA license in SPED. I talk to Ali Taylor the education specialist and not only was she rude demanding my test scores but they refused to fill out the form. I tried to explain my situation that Im trying to work in the school while working toward getting my test scores in but she was very nasty and refused to even look at the form. I asked to speak with a manager and she ask me "WHY!". Hello! You are not willing to help me and I needed to speak with someone who could help me get my provisional certification. She never put the manager on the phone and instead said that I needed a guaranteed job offer or my test scores. Why would this district guarantee to hire me if my education is questionable. It was very embarrassing to call the district back and tell them my college refused to sign the form. All they had to do was verify that I have completed my program of study and sign the form. Its been a week now and I have heard NOTHING from the school district because my education cannot be verified. I did not get the job and Im angry with Grand Canyon. Thanks for nothing Grand Canyon University!!!!

I have been taking courses at GCU Online for some time now, and have always been satisfied with the program, but recently I have hit a serious snag that is making me consider leaving GCU and finding a more student supportive college for my degree....
This course that just began is being taught by a student instructor instead of a true professor, and she is extremely critical of everything I turn in to the point where I feel like I am going to fail this class, and ruin my otherwise spotless GPA. I have been attempting to make contact with this so called "instructor" now for some time, but she has consistently ignored messages, and now it is too late for me to drop the course without having to pay for taking it again out-of-pocket. This is LUDICROUS. I should not have to spend $1800 of my own money, just because this school refuses to answer anything asked for weeks on end. Still, that is what I have heard is the main issue at for profit universities, so I guess I am just stuck.
STAY AWAY from this school, it is a SCAM!!

Save your money and time and go elsewhere. Do not consider nursing school here because GCU apparently breaks promises/contracts with its nursing students placed at different campuses who have a great opportunity to learn in an actual hospital setting. The school is very inconsistent and their administration sucks! It is super stressful on us as students who pay tons of money to get an education, while getting screwed over big time with this inconsistency!

I can only speak to my experience. I had issues with an instructor with a long history of problems with students. She was very disrespectful to students and I stood up to her. As a result, I am being discriminated against and the Director of the Clinical Nursing program sends emails to clinical instructors and a reasonable person might believe that she does it with potential employers as well. I have been trying to get information about GCU's formal appeal process however, nobody seems to be aware of it. Even high ranking administrative officials which leads me to believe that they don't want me to pursue it. Since I haven't been able to get anywhere with GCU, I am filing a complaint with the Arizona State Board of Nursing. They are already being scrutinized for dropping pass rates so, hopefully that will get me somewhere. It is very apparent that it is a for profit organization and administration is more interested in avoiding having the program look bad than address legitimate concerns.

Just like Jami, I also just started my very first class online and realized it wasn t for me after the first week. I figured since I just started it, I would get some money back or at the very least just be charged for that one class, but no, they are charging me for the first few classes that I NEVER took nor do I plan on taking! To make matters even more worse, they aren t putting that money on my loan, they expect me to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket! I don t know about you, but that is not money I can just fork over. And they call themselves a Christian University! Unless you want to get ripped off and treated unfairly, DO NOT GO HERE!!!

GCU is a private Christian university that is far less expensive than most Private schools. I am now in my 5th academic year for my B.S. in early childhood education, online. All of the professors are amazing and they are there to see you succeed. All of the counselors are there anytime you need them and are very Knowledgeable. I would suggest to have excellent time management skills, stay organized, and by all means DO NOT wait until the last minute to get your work turned in. Ask questions, ask questions, ask questions. You never know who may also have the same question as you. Without the online program I would be able to attend college. I was the full time caregiver of my grandma and when she passed on to be with Jesus my professor, and counselors were there for me and helped me through the most difficult time in my life! GCU online offers one class at a time which is great for first time collage goers or even those who are new to the online community. You are able to take more than one class if you are financially and academically able to do so. I was never the one that made good grades in elementary, middle school or high school but GCU has made it where everyone can succeed. I am an AB student. I would recommend GCU to everyone and I really do!! GO LOPES!!! Class of 2018!! Any questions just ask! I will answer if I can.

I am three courses from finishing my Master's in Addiction Counseling at GCU...this is my fourth Master's degree, first one at GCU and I have to say the curriculum for this program has been more rigorous than I expected in a very good way...my instructors are supportive, communicative, and extremely knowledgeable! I have had three major surgeries during this program two of which required months of PT to heal from and the loss of the use of one arm then the other for over a month (respectively) and while I was offered the option to drop the course I was in with each surgery and restart it after healing (without penalty) I was actually able to make it through without interrupting my program with the support I received from my student services advisor (who is AMAZING) and my instructors. I absolutely love being a student here:). A balance of support, accountability, and appropriately challenging curriculum is why I will start my doctorate program at GCU this summer.

So just like that the tuition is going up $1500 next semester $2000 in 2020 and that is per semester
Most expensive school in the State and it's still not enough
Current students should be allowed to finish under old prices since that's what they agreed on

My experience here at Grand Canyon University has come second to none. The professors instructing the classes are well versed and knowledgeable on the content of the courses. They give great feedback and the offer extra assistance if requested. The biggest gem of my experience here at GCU, has to be without question my Student Service Counselor, "Mya Carlisle"! She has been an outstanding supportive and encouraging blessing to me as an GCU student. I highly recommend Grand Canyon University to any who values a superb education in a Christian atmosphere!

The decision to attend Grand Canyon University I think is the best I've made so far, from the first interaction with my (AC) Admissions Counselor, to meeting my (SSC) Student Services Counselor and the students on campus, I have not had a bad experience yet. My AC and SSC are the best!!
GCU is not just looking to foster community it is also looking to produce well rounded students. I am currently in the Masters' program at GCU and I have nothing but good things to say about the classes, curriculum and professors, the program is built taking the everyone into consideration and is striving to meet everyone where they're at, providing high quality education to everyone regardless of what phase of life they're in.
Go Lopes'!!

Grand Canyon University is one of the worse univer...

Grand Canyon University is one of the worse universities in the country academically. There is a serious problem with student plagiarism for which deans and department heads in the various colleges were aware of since 2008, but did nothing to stop it. Worse, in some courses there were no textbooks and students were using the Bible to write papers that had nothing to do with the course syllabus. Students were not given tests in some courses and only required to write papers that were not in APA and the papers had nothing to do with the course content. When the instructor complained, the dean for that department sided with the students, allowing them to only submit sub-standard papers to complete the course (s). There are documented cases where students gave their password to a family member to access their online class and complete their coursework. The university did not dismiss those students. There is a documented case where a student had her 16-year old high school daughter write her papers and the student submitted that work in the online class. There is also a department at GCU that handles writing the syllabus for all courses and staff in that department removed the syllabus after the course started and changed the syllabus without the instructor s knowledge or permission. Students in the course discovered a new syllabus and alerted the professor. The same department made numerous errors in writing the syllabi in other courses: class assignment did not match the reading, etc. The ANGEL platform began to break down in 2010 and the university blamed professors teaching various courses for problems with setting up various courses. This is really a sleazy university with no academic standards and it has no place in higher education. It is a degree factory to make money.

Great facility, great place to send your kids to college. My niece just started here this semester and The staff here is all about making sure that the parents are fully informed on what s going on with their kids (in this case, my cousin). Security is of the highest priority and that s a big check off the list. Everything is so well maintained. Plenty of restaurants and activity centers for the students. There is almost no need to leave the campus for anything. 3 swimming pools, volleyball, and just about every sport is available here. Great atmosphere and overall safe place.

I graduated from GCU with a Masters in Secondary E...

I graduated from GCU with a Masters in Secondary Education via the online program. I have never stepped foot on campus.

GCU is an accredited university that will get you a degree if you're willing to do all the work.
Huge push for taking loans with no information on helping to pay them off. Finances were set up to automatically give me a loan if I missed a payment (yikes).
Education counselors were useless via email. They would take any route to avoid answering questions this way, even if they were simple yes/no questions. Often refused to do any related research for me, despite offering a path to certification. It was more efficient to contact the AZ Department of Education directly.
Financial counselors were amazing and on top of initial communications for any concerns.
For online classes: very simple and straightforward. About an essay a week for eduation. The biggest concern is that the professors obviously didn't write the courses, as they had difficulty answering questions in a reasonable amount of time. Every assignment had a prompt, but for assignments that also had rubrics, the prompt was moot. The professors had no concern for any of the specifications in the prompt. They ONLY grade by the rubric, even if the prompt was vague or misleading on a particular aspect.

Only take the program if you're willing to do a lot of the work on your own. There is very little outside help available.
