I didn't like GBS at all. First of all, the teachers look like they survived World War II in the bunker. In addition, they have no idea about the lessons. The cooks don't wash their hands on the toilet and that's no lie. Every time I went to school, I was afraid that all the metal shutters would close and we would be gassed in this concentration camp-like building. Still think it's great that I was allowed to go to school in a building from the 2nd World War.

I understand that it is economically difficult to have two different companies in the same building. Nevertheless, I consider the closure of the butcher's shop to be a wrong decision. Outdated schoolhouse. Informatics teachers are for the most part unfortunately very incompetent and have missed their profession. Also about the remaining teachers whom I got to know, it is difficult for me to say something positive, with a few exceptions. The canteen is partially acceptable, but undoubtedly too expensive. The journey by public transport is solved very well by an extra bus and works. However, the lesson times are not really adapted to the timetables. Overall, I would recommend anyone to take lessons in the field of computer science here. I can not say much about the remaining areas.

The schoolhouse looks from the outside as if it were an institution and not really better inside. I'm learning the computer science education here and have to say that I'm not really happy about the school. There are always a lot of leaves, although we are in a computer science class. The equipment could be better. We finally got plug in a few rooms. But in many rooms there are only about 3 outlets ... The canteen has good food, but always has too little food and you have to wait or go out to school.
The Corona requirements are a joke. Exactly in the technical professions like IT, home office would work perfectly and would have many advantages such as saving on the bus ticket (which is overpriced and so full on the meter that masks do not help anyway) and also from self-discipline. In gymnastics we have neither measures nor does any teacher follow the Corona regulations according to the BAG! In general, you sit around in school and listen to the teachers for the hour that we are following the schedule, but instead of working they prefer to keep talking and complaining. Many grades are formed according to "the teacher's discretion" and are therefore neither fair nor comprehensible.

I also find it sad that any fun at this school is taken with this instruction and the infrastructure. Criticism at the school may either not be appropriate or will be completely ignored later. Also the attempts with a homepage with not quite seriously meant contributions to hearing are failed. The website has now been suppressed. Likewise, an entry based on it was deleted on Google Maps. Pity! The building still has to say that a fire alarm started a few months ago and you did NOT notice anything about it in the canteen. Safety is different! I am very unhappy with the canteen, even the vegetables are greasy. When I compare it to the cantonal school in Heerbrugg, I wonder why they get such good food and we don't? Since all students want to eat at lunchtime and run to the canteen, they stand there for ages and are starving for food. Can't that be solved better? One could offer water free of charge for those who do not want to consume sweet drinks. A water dispenser could help. The toilets are a disaster. The soap dispensers are not working properly. The light should work with a motion sensor and. In some toilets, the bowl doesn't even hold on the floor. The lighting in the classrooms leaves something to be desired. In winter it is always too cold in the basement. Data chaos is pre-programmed. One teacher works with Moodle, the other with OneNote and another only with teams. Everyone has their own wild structure and all data must somehow be organized by the student himself. Since you have a lot to do as a student, you shouldn't have to spend hours thinking about how to organize your data now. Computer science subjects like M117 and M123 should include more practice.
The architecture of the building reminds me of a post-apocalyptic GDR bunker. The food in the canteen was felt to have been chewed, spat out and fouled by the cooks. Didn't go to school here, but heard about the slaughterhouse. Very sad that big companies are abusing their economic power to ruin small businesses like this butcher shop. I was disappointed when I heard that state institutions are now also supporting this behavior with public money.
The dining room was very unclean and the food was very bad e.g. the french fries for 13 francs or so were very sloppy and the chicken nuggets weren't good either. That's why the one star, because I think the food is way too expensive for this quality and there is also the fact that there are almost only apprentices and accordingly the wages are not too high. The GBS is an impressive sight. The architecture is based on the post-war period and represents the poverty and the limited possibilities of that time. It is a pity that the sports center could not be preserved as it has already collapsed. The building is free and accessible, but you should be careful because this building is also at risk of collapse. From the inside it feels like going back 60 years. One reason for this feeling might be that everything is gray and you might think you were trapped in a black and white film. But definitely worth a detour. Is recommended.
I think it's great that the HF ID course is very practice-oriented and that there are machines for practically everything in the various workshops. The different educational backgrounds of the individual students also enrich the lessons very much. The atmosphere in the school is friendly and you meet at eye level - the same goes for the lecturers. Kudos for this course!
Bad Corona measures in the sport regarding wardrobe. For three years we were allowed to use two cloakrooms and now in the fourth year of our apprenticeship we have to go to a cloakroom with around 20 students despite Corona. What's the point ?!
