I am here as a post covid rehabilitation patient, the best decision I made. If I could give 10 stars I would have. Staff, nurses, Doctor Somera, Lyman unit are just to name some of the great, caring people and passionate about what they do. Love the place where is locate and my PT Therapist Dan, OT Marcia and everyone there. Will forever be in my prayers and gratitude.

Warning Gaylord Hospital is wonderful for the rich, famous and those with private insurance. It has been a great disappointment to myself and many others on Medicare or Governmental Insurance. Patients without private insurance are treated like 3rd rate citizens. From appointments to treatment plans their services do more damaging than good. It s a great hospital if you fall under their class of patients otherwise your better off going to a under staffed, outdated clinic with interns, atleast they actually care and you ll be treated like a human being and not trash.

My review focuses around the necessary rules around COVID-19. While I understand the new policies limiting the time and the amount of people allowed in the facility at any given time. I believe while putting these policies in place the facilities such as this one they should have stressed to their employees the extreme importance of communicating with the family of their patients. It is hard enough having your loved one away from home, the policy of better and more communication should have been incorporated durning these tough times. Having said that I believe that the Physical and Occupational therapists did a great time while my wife was there, and I thank them for there dedication.

I have to be fair and amend my previous post. The issue I had was investigated and the issue has been resolved. A path was layed out for me to get the mobility device I needed. Thanks you to Dorothy and the team at Gaylord I can now have more freedom. I'm also very confident that what happened to me won't happen again or, to anyone else. I'll be happy to notify my PCP and his Care Coordinator that this issue is resolved. I give 3 stars because it's been a year this month since the whole process started.

I've called three times and instead of going to an operator their service just hangs up on you. I've tried following the prompts and also hit 0, but both result in it ringing, no one answers, and then it hangs up on you.

Throughout my experience at Gaylord Hospital in the rehabilitation program, doing both aqua therapy and land therapy, my experience has been very good.. Dr David Chen, a physiatrist, has been very pleasant and patient and has taken the time to explain things thoroughly so that I feel comfortable with the current plan for my rehabilitation.
The physical therapists, including Corey and Lauren amongst others have been helpful in guiding me along and I'm very thankful for an alternative option to surgery as the therapy has shown to have positive results for me as far as mobility, strength and pain management go.
The only concerned that I've had thus far is with the lack of availability as far as scheduling goes, especially with the aqua therapy.
Lastly, I'd like to mention, in my observation.. many of the patients who are there for therapy had obvious weight issues that in my humble opinion should be addressed through a dietitian either in conjunction with or before even attempting physical therapy.. it's a question that I have had on my mind and one that I've been meaning to ask and will inquire upon at my reevaluation coming up soon.
I for one, have been classified as overweight and as we know obesity seems to be an ever-expanding problem in our society.. no pun intended.

I had a stroke with aphasia in 2015, a week after my 45th birthday. I am so glad Hartford Hospital sent me here. All the staff are exemplary, from the nurses to food services to speech therapy. They started me on my recovery and in 9 months I was working full-time again as a physician assistant.
