Had a potential minor disaster, (locked keys in vehicle), result in a pleasant encounter with the GIBP. A very friendly & courteous lifeguard by the name of Mark stationed near the Pleasure Pier came to my rescue, turned the situation around and got me into the water and surfing in no time. He really saved my day. Thank you Mark and members of the GIBP for the welcomed assistance and vital service that you provide.

Sincerely,
Richard Pearson

Today we had a bully lifeguard at #61 around 3:30 on 7-14-2018. Told my daughter in law she shouldn t have kids because her kid pulled away from her. Telling women to move over but not the men that were with us.

Sand was clean. No weeds anywhere in site. The place had $8 parking for vehicles and $35 umbrella rental with 2 chairs. Don't mind paying that. They have a giant gazebo style building with lots of clean showers and places to clean off. Very nice! The water is of course dirty ( thank you Mississippi river) but is very swimable. I recommend this place for all out of towners. Don't be fooled by the name. Its more than just a beach patrol depot .

A nice pirate theme playground that is COVERED my kids loved. The restrooms were some of the cleanest public rest rooms I've been in! Let alone restrooms next to a beach! Many showers in bathroom to clean off all the sand. Little store for food and beach toys. The beach is kept very clean, lifeguards watching... my family was very impressed!
