I wouldn't say this a camp to do every week all summer, but for one or two weeks it is great! My kids finished this camp eager to continue doing creative self-motivated STEM oriented projects at home.

Our 6 years old introvert little girl had a less than exciting week at camp Galileo Oakland. We find the fellows at camp more likely to engage older or more outgoing kids. The innovation projects created all fell apart because "the tape" does not stick well. Galileo charged a premium rate but the materials provided weren't quality which created frustration for little kids. I find our little girls talks about missing Sara Science camp in this camp.
As a mother, I could not recommend Galileo to other mothers. Perhaps this camp is for older and outgoing campers.

Galileo Learning: Redefining Summer Fun with Innovative Camps for Kids

Galileo Learning is a leading provider of innovation summer and online camps for kids. With in-person camps located in California, Chicago, and Denver, Galileo Learning has been redefining summer fun since its inception. The company's mission is to inspire young minds to think creatively and innovatively while having fun.

At Galileo Learning, the focus is on providing a unique learning experience that combines hands-on activities with critical thinking skills. The company's innovative approach to education has earned it numerous accolades from parents and educators alike.

In this article, we will take a closer look at what makes Galileo Learning stand out from other summer camp providers. We will explore the company's history, philosophy, programs offered, and how it can benefit your child.

History of Galileo Learning

Galileo Learning was founded in 2002 by Glen Tripp with the aim of creating an innovative summer camp experience that would inspire children to think creatively. Tripp had previously worked as an educator at Stanford University's K-12 Lab Network where he developed his passion for teaching children through hands-on activities.

The first Galileo camp was held in Palo Alto, California in 2002 with just 20 students enrolled. Since then, the company has grown exponentially and now serves over 35 locations across California alone.

Philosophy of Galileo Learning

At the heart of Galileo Learning's philosophy is the belief that every child has the potential to be creative and innovative if given the right tools and environment. The company believes that traditional classroom settings often stifle creativity by focusing too much on rote learning rather than experiential learning.

To counter this trend, Galileo camps are designed around four core values: visionary thinking; collaboration; perseverance; reflection & iteration. These values are woven into every aspect of their programs so that children learn not only academic skills but also life skills such as teamwork and problem-solving.

Programs Offered by Galileo Learning

Galileo offers a range of programs designed for different age groups ranging from pre-K through eighth grade:

1) Pre-K Program: Designed specifically for children aged four years old or younger who are not yet ready for full-day programming.
2) Camp Program: This program caters to kids entering grades K-8th grade.
3) Summer Quest Program: This program offers more specialized courses such as coding or robotics.
4) Online Programs: In response to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on gatherings last year (2020), they launched online classes which were very successful among parents who wanted their kids engaged during lockdowns or quarantines.
5) Counselor-in-Training (CIT): This program provides leadership training opportunities for high school students interested in working at future camps.
