Absolutely outstanding. First, easy to find and easy parking. Second, all of the employees were outstanding greeting everyone and explain the Covid rules and regulations. The tour information was perfect. Just the right amount. (Great job tour guide guy ). Social distancing and mask wearing rules adhered to very nicely. I highly recommend Diamond Jack's and will be back!
Detroit's best river tour. Cold beer is available during the Cruze.
A great way to spend a short afternoon with family and friends seeing the Detroit River and finding out about things you never knew existed
One hour tour up the Detroit River with a commentator pointing out buildings and places of interest. Then up the river looking at Windsor, also with the commentator pointing out places of interest. Learned a lot about Detroit that I never knew and I ve lived in this area since 1989.
THE PRICE CAN T BE BEAT! $10 US for Seniors and it was $15 for my 17 year old grandson. He was visiting from Grand Rapids and throughly enjoyed the tour . Snack bar with soda, wine, beer and snacks for sale. $3 for soda.
I recommend this excursion for ALL age groups. Children are welcome aboard. Not sure of the charge.
We had a great of 14, from 8 years old to 91. We all had a beautiful experience. Perfect day, informative about a little history on both the Canadian and American side. Thanks for your patience to the person answering the phones
Food was awful boat was tacky and smelled of mildew tour was lackluster
Love the informative boat rides, wish the tours would continue until the end of September.
Lovely tour along the Detroit River exploring landmarks and history. As a Detroit native I was able to learn even more about the city and our neighbors in Windsor. This is a "Must Do" excursion for out of town guest and locals.
This is a great way to get out on the water and see two cities. You get a narrator to give you some history and the boat moves, as opposed to the Princess, which barely goes faster than the current.
Awesome tour.....go check it out and enjoy the boat ride
I enjoyed every bit of the cruise, I was able to see places I hadn't seen since I was a teenager!
Beautiful two hour cruise down the Detroit River. They need a new narrator, the one they had puts you to sleep, too monotone!!
Love taking their scenic trips once a year. Knowledgeable and safety conscious.
Rented the boat for a function. We did an evening cruise. It was early September. It was a little cool so bring a jacket or sweater. Had a catered dinner on the ship the food was good. You could walk around the 3 levels. The lights were very nice to watch. The staff was friendly and helpful. Like any captive place drinks were a little pricey. Overall very nice
Prefect thing to do on a sunny day! Although it's short it's very nice and informative.
Boat does not provide wheelchair friendly boarding. Workers were not prepared and ramp was too narrow for comfortable boarding of a handicapped wheelchair causing anxiety for the child and family.
After leaving the dock, a female crew apologized for the staring, and the crew was very helpful when departing the boat.
We paid for a 2 hour tour and it was only for 1 hour. They did not tell us the boat ride was only for a hour.
Very nice, peaceful, relaxing, and informative boat tour. I mainly loved 2 things. First, the tour guide did not talk too much. She was very informative when passing by historic sites, etc, but also did not just keep talking and making filler conversation. There was ample time to just sit in peace and enjoy the lake. Second, we got to see both the US (Detroit) side and the Canada (Windsor) side with history for both. Overall, I highly recommend and would do it again.
Great organization, great owners, dedicated workers that will bend over backwards to take care of you. This place is pleasant to work with and highly recommended. .
Staff was very friendly. It's kind of pricey, $70 for 2 adults & 2 kids. But worth the money. If you want to know more about Detroit & around the river it's definitely worth it. If we get a chance to back I will be doing this river tour again.
Beautiful place and great service , we have a great experience and day , thank you Diamond Jack's River Tours Team .
I expected to see some of the abandoned buildings of Detroit or some historical background of the city, I did not get that in this tour. This is a 1.5 HR tour with almost no guiding. Current hotels and parks were pointed out.
I really enjoyed this . I've been multiple times. Sometimes I can find a Groupon but its not costly if I have to pay full price. Lasting memories
We took a group of Seniors (15) down and we were a little apprehensive with the gangway being so steep, but the crew was EXTREMELY helpful. They totally managed our scooter and wheelchair residents. The tour itself was wonderful. Very informative, giving both history and current details. I would DEFINETLY recommend this activity with Diamond Jacks River Tours.
Going on my 3rd tour this afternoon. I think it's very nice... 2 full hours of touring is well worth the price.
Great informative tours of the Detroit River. Great experience especially for private parties!
Went with my daughters class and everyone had a blast!
This boat is disgusting. The need to get an exterminator because they have a giant spider problem. The tour itself is terrible boring they talk about 15 buildings for around on minute each and then you just sit, there s no music or anything.
This was the highlight of my August! Diamond Jack's staff was friendly and hard working. The Detroit River tour was priced right and nice to have a glass of wine to relax and cruise with.
I very highly recommend this beautiful boat tour of downtown Detroit.
Peaceful, entertaining, educational, being on the water was very relaxing. The ride was great. Could have more snacks on board.
Had a great time! The cruise was very nice and informative just wish they had evening cruises and a better food selection, other than that, it was a nice getaway!
Staff was professional and friendly. Boat was very clean and the tour was great.
I had a great time! I got a little motion sickness at first, but it went away after a while and my husband and I really enjoyed the tour.
Wounderful day for a boat ride. We done all their cruises. Nice rides.
A lot of fun. Food was good, just wish it had been warmer.
Took a school field trip of 40 children, ages 5-10 for a tour and we were refused life vest. The owner of Diamond Jack said that it would take too long to get them on and they will on be distributed in case of emergency.....you can give a life vest to someone after they go over board!!!!!!
Sad that they didn't even let us choose to be safe because it was inconvient to them
Incredible staff in a great time. Very knowledgeable and full of history. I would do this again and again and again
The boat ride was smooth and informative... My family and I had a great time.
It was a nice cruise on the river prices were reasonable.
Great family outing especially for romantic date nights
I absolutely love Jack diamond river tours! I just wish the season didn't end so soon it would be nice if it they offered tours to October. I would definitely recommend Jack diamond tours for a great time.
Great alternative way to see Detroit and Windsor, narration was informative,we had a great time! Recommend this for everyone!
Pretty unorganized. You can't buy tickets except while in line. Single board and exit ramp which makes for long times. Could cut time off the tour by not going past connecting bridge to Canada. Oh and they take credit/debit even though the website and brochures onsite say cash only. Could've saved ATM fees. Anyhow the information on the tour was okay and the boating near Canadian border was unexpected and welcome. The tour guide was actually clear and seemed to actually enjoy his job which was nice. A few tweaks and this tour could be even more fantastic.
Looking for an awesome way to just chill and past a couple hours by... This is it. Oh, and you MIGHT learn a little bit too.
Very informative! We had so much fun! Found it interesting all the history!
We went on the boat yesterday , we took the 1:00 royr. when I had called the lady told me that the boat comes in at 12 and starts loading at 12:30,, at 12:30 this boat was nowhere in sight. And we we're left basking in the sun. Finally at 12:45 the boat showed up and it took him a while to set up their canopy for taking the money. And then again we waited and looking on board we didn't see anybody really doing anything and couldn't figure out the reason why they still were not taking the money.. finally when they came out to take the ticket money I asked the guy if they're running late and he said yes. can't figure out why the first boat tour of the day would be running late oh, so that was very unprofessional of a business that should be running their boat tours on time. The fact that there was a lot of senior citizens waiting on dock to be loaded.. so that's what I was disappointed about oh, the trip started up pretty negative for me.the rest of the boat tour was nice except the speakers weren't working where we were sitting so I couldn't hear they tour guide talking about the points of interest..
Me & my son went with his class. They were very professional & all the crew on board were very friendly
Nice tour of Detroit area. Would be nice if they expanded the variety of food and drinks offered.
I go on the cruise several times, each year. Can't wait to get started again in 2020! Grab your Mask and JOIN ME!
The diamond Jack was amazing. They did have precautions for covid 19 I would definitely do it again
My son's daycare arranged a field trip here so the young kids could take a boat ride. The daycare director called Diamond Jack's to find out if life jackets would be available (some of the parents refused to allow their children to go unless they were wearing life jackets). The office assured them that life jackets were available for the children. On arrival, the captain overrode that decision and told them that there wasn't time to put life jackets on so the children wouldn't be allowed to wear them. Wasn't time?? That's a ridiculous excuse. So in the end the children couldn't go since many children only had permission if they would be in a life jacket. it was 2 hours round trip, and no boat ride.
When I contacted Diamond Jack's, I was given a different excuse. "...you were sailing with other guests that day and we need to let them know the reasoning behind some people having on life jackets and their group not requiring them as to not set off a panic or the perception of our boat being unsafe unless wearing of life jackets." Really? Like people would panic if they see a group of preschoolers wearing life jackets? Ridiculous, I'm extremely disappointed in their policies and the way they handled this. They were informed that life jackets would be required for the kids, everything was fine until they showed up and the Captain said there wasn't time to put on life jackets.
Another Detroit hidden gem. Very informative narration of Detroit's rich history. Bargain prices and very family friendly. Looking forward to a return voyage. Crew was helpful and courteous with senior citizens.
What is very therapeutic and it was an awesome ride if you like just to go into the water and just think have a nice drink and with your loved one I recommend
I enjoyed myself seeing the sights along the riverfront...it was easy to find and there was free parking also the employees were super friendly and helpful
I ve been on the diamond jacks tour several times in my personal and professional life. I ve taken many groups of seniors with wheelchairs and walker and my very own family as well. Always a beautiful tour of the river!
The tour was great and fun. The moderator was very informative. We had a good time.
Interesting and slow paced river cruise of the Detroit River. You are able to see Detroit and Windsor - two countries for the price of one. Boat does provide a bathroom. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase. There is also indoor and outdoor seating, with much of the outdoor seating being under cover. My only suggestion would be to add more info regarding Detroit architecture.
Went on a field trip with my son's class - had an excellent time - very nice tour of Detroit and Belle Isle. The crew was well organized, informative, and overall it was a pleasant experience.
I did the tour on an early Friday afternoon with light rain for the first hour of the 2 hour ride. The trip is very interesting, the historical buildings, the Belle Isle seen from the river and the Canadian coast. The international bridge is impressive. It just disgusted me that the boat service didn't organize people to move to one side of the boat while the rain poured down the other and then they took time to dry the chairs for people to sit back down.
I highly recommend the Diamond Jack and the Diamond Belle boat trip to anyone that wants an outstanding experience on the Detroit River waterfront. The staff is friendly and helpful, the catered food on the boat is great and you can not find a better way to show off the beautiful waterfront that Detroit and Windsor share. This is an experience that is different from any run of the mill corporate event and also provides a great opportunity to take customers on. Don't wait to take your friends, family, visitors or customers for a boat ride on the Diamond Belle or Diamond Jack!
