Although the center is fun and the staff is friendly, we probably won t be coming back after discovering Jungle Java in Canton (well worth the extra drive and $2 admission increase). Every time I take my son to Funtastic, he always ends up getting sick. The staff says that they don t let kids in who show signs of illness but that s not true. I m not sure if their restrictions tightened since COVID, but before, I frequently saw coughing or sneezing kids with super runny noses running around and touching things. Funtastic also is not inclusive of special needs kids when it comes to dietary concerns. My son has autism and a feeding disorder, so, it s important for us to be able to have our own packed snacks and drinks. Unfortunately, Funtastic was strict on enforcing the no outside food and drink policy even for my son s case. Jungle Java, on the other hand, has been a very pleasant experience. I don t see sick kids running around. There s a much larger area for kids to climb on with more things to do. The toddler section is completely separate of the bigger kid section and has its own couches for parents to sit on. The cafe and general sitting area are larger and more spaced out. The best part is that the staff is willing to accommodate outside food and drinks brought in for special needs cases so long as the staff is notified while checking in. The only thing that I believe Funtastic has on Jungle Java besides the difference of $2 in the admission fee is the large padded mat section; which Jungle Java does not have. However, I personally don t mind going without in exchange for all of the benefits of Jungle Java. I would give Funtastic higher ratings if they would more adequately enforce the no sick kids policy during normal circumstances and were more lenient on the outside food and drink policy when it comes to kids with special needs.
