Great, friendly staff. I called on very short notice and they were eager to accommodate me to one of their studios.

One of the guys went above and beyond to help me set up the double bass for the drums. My go to studio to play.

Great place. Good equipement . Good staff. Recently they upgraded to new keyboards. It is perfect. It is a gem.

We were so pleased to work with Funkadelic Studios for our birthday gala fundraiser! Dawn and the team were so flexible and accommodating of a hectic event, providing exactly the right equipment we needed at exactly the right price. More than anything, the performances sounded incredible. From the planning to the set-up to the sound engineers, Funkadelic is the epitome of professionalism.

If you're looking for a down and dirty rehearsal studio in the Times Square area, Funkadelic is for you. You can almost smell the 70s as soon as you walk in.

It's ok. They stopped letting people smoke inside. Sometimes the mics and pianos have issues. Staff is very friendly, not always able to fix things. There aren't many midtown studios left, and this is one of them

Cheap prices but you get what you pay for. The cables we had to borrow had shorts, not a large selection of pedals, etc. They seem to stock midrange entry level loaner instruments which aren't bad. I'd definitely return.

Funkadelic is always a great place to rehearse and record. Privacy, easy going environment, great equipment. I definitely suggest going there.

Had a rehearsal at Funkadelic Studios last night (9/26/18) with my longterm band brothers. The staff were friendly and the Room we had (6) was small but functional. My only criticism would be the PA system. Basic, but I admit I'm spoiled. The bass amp was functional, but I'm a believer my sound comes from my hands/mind and not so much the gear. Overall, i recommend Funkadelic to any band looking for a place to roll up their sleeves and get work done.

Ok if you like old equipment and smelly room at the same prices as other places with clean rooms with amps that won't shock you.

Solid rehearsal space. Pricey, but imagine the rent. The gear is kind of beat up the rooms are kind of musty but it gets the job done. I would recommend it to other people

I've been taking voice lessons here and it's been great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The events such as jam sessions are nicely printed and hung around the studio so all can see. Theres always a lot of info given. This place is great would recommend to anyone

Definitely the most bang for your buck in the area... Facilities are kept clean and functional, and location a block from the train is a clear win . Just know this is not really a bonafide recording studio, but they do provide options to record your rehearsals.

It works, but it's not lovely* or spacious. Nice staff. *My apologies to the owner, my comments had a typo. It originally said "lively" when I meant to say "lovely" in reference to physical plant. Yes, Funkadelic is lively and has very good vibes! I'm grateful that you offer a place for musicians to play.

Great staff. Sometimes the rooms are a bit, "funky" but it's all gravy.

This place is great! Pretty cheap imo and they're usually really helpful with needs. Some of the sound quality in some rooms aren't good for singers but overall this is my favorite practice spot in the city.

Clean, comfortable studio. One dead amp in the room, but we worked around it. Will come back.

This space is simply awesome and you can tell the importance they place in having fine equipment and amps ready to go for musicians right when they get there. My group pursues 80s tones and I GREATLY appreciate how they stock virtually every practice room with a Roland Jazz Chorus 120. They have other options as well through the various amps hosted in a practice space. Everyone is nice and helpful. Dawn, the owner, is great and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great rehearsal. I would absolutely recommend this place and will certainly be back.

If the rooms were larger i would have given 5 stars. You can still hear sounds from other rooms when quiet, but once you start jamming it isn't noticeable. The staff is very helpful.

Funkadelic is my favorite. The location is killer but not only that, I was stuck last night and they really came through for me. I needed some gear last minute and reached out to see if they rent out gear. Talk about service! Affordable, we needed that, and always friendly service. Highly recommended!

Great vibes! Studios could be better, but I enjoyed being there and creating music with fellow artists.

First time there, great vibe with the other musicians on this weekly jam session. Staff is very sweet and helpful also.

It's a music studio. Weed was permeating the air when we were there - fine if we didn't have kiddo in tow. BUT the prices are fair and the staff was helpful and not surprisingly - mellow.

Great rehearsal spaces and well stocked with equipment. I hate having to lug amps around so this place is perfect for me. They even have keyboards and drum kits in the rooms. The staff is awesome and they have gear for sale in case you need it.

Great place to jam out with other new Yorkers plenty of rooms equipped with amps and keyboards and they have guitars and mics for rent $10 on Saturdays from 8-11pm

The room was extremely hot. With h the great customer service by Funkadelic and there team was awesome. Great job.

Attended the Saturday evening open jam which was awesome -- great musicians in my room and we had a blast.

This is my favorite rehearsal space in the city. Conveniently located in midtown / times square / port authority, very reasonably priced, and smells like rocknroll. Just got that smell of where musicians hang out that I like. Staff is always very nice and accommodating. Equipment is well kept. There's really nothing more you can ask from a studio. I just go there and bang the drums every week and it feels great. They also have a decent recording studio, and open mic nights and jams for kids. I think they have about 10 rooms, you just call and book.
They also rent out equipment and always are very helpful. Dawn the owner is very nice and doing an amazing job keeping this place going for over 20 years!

Decent rooms and friendly staff. Single rehearsal for $10 before 5 or 6pm.

Good location, equipment is in ok shape, rooms sound okay.

I host there every second Saturday of the month. They re very helpful when it comes to customer service with any movements of things etc..

Not the largest rooms or the best sound, but a decent choice for studios in NYC

My favorite studio in Manhattan! Have been coming here for three years, and the staff is always kind and helpful. Great place to get involved in the local music scene and meet new people

Definitely more suitable for band/amplified rehearsals than classical ensembles, but I and my quintet had a great time thanks to Dawn and the super helpful staff. Be sure to enter the raffle - I won a couple of free hours in a well-equipped room just in time to rehearse for my shows at the Met Museum this past weekend.

Funkadelic is pretty no-frills, but it's the best option I've found for solo drum practice in Manhattan. It's $12 for an hour (more if you're a whole band, I think), and every room has a passable-to-decent drum kit. The soundproofing is not perfect, so you will hear other people practicing in the rooms on either side of you, but not loudly enough to screw up your own practice. You may want to bring your own pedal if you're there for drums, as most of the ones there are pretty crappy.

Great for solo practice on a drum kit. They keep the drums tuned and pretty well maintained.
