Went to the open house with the kids. We all had a great time at the exhibits they had. My boys spent hours on the docks catching jellyfish.
This place is beautiful and has a lot of great biodiversity. Definitely recommend going around the area and to some of the trails around here like Lime Kiln:)
OMG This is one of the most amazing places to study in Washington. First off, it s ran by the University of Washington so it has the lab equipment. Second, the dorms/cabins are so clean! They have heating and cooling in each room. The showers are really nice. My class and i went on a boat ride around the islands which was so fun! The food they served at the dinning hall was delicious and healthy. This is really an amazing place!!!
I basically grew up here - every summer from age 7 through early adulthood, my dad came to research Aequorin (also known as Green Fluorescent Protein). One of the finest marine research facilities in the world, FHL also has the most extensive salt-water circulation system in North America.
A life changing experience. High level of research, a unique opportunity to do science.
Gr8est place on Terra to study marine biology and have an amazingly fun time! At least that's how I remember it in the summer of '84.
