It was just to hot lol. They should have missters around to cool off . I couldn't find a couple places that i paid for I just got a little sick from the heat . I had to sit down for a min. They should have a couple of staff checking on ppl my age to see if their ok. I couldn't find the exit for a min. there went in circles cause of the way I was feeling. Just suggestion .
Nice place for the family, little water park for kids, just remember to take extra shoes and towels, and lotion, also be hydrated on these summer days..
Awesome place to bring the family, African adventure is a great addition!
I drive the two hours from Stockton to come to this zoo instead of any of the several that are closer to us because it's amazing!
They have the Stingray bay where unlike other places, you can actually feed them! It's 1 dollar for a cup of little fish and they come right up to you and eat from your hand!
You can also feed the giraffes which seems to what the younger kids really enjoy.
I haven't been through it but they have the Kanga walk as well.
My personal fave is the big cats which there is no shortage of. They have tons of room to run around and do lion, and tiger stuff!
Overall it's a really cool place and worth the visit for sure.
Great variety of animals. Grateful for all resting spots. Glad you can get a bite to eat.
Chaffee Zoo is doing a great job in bringing new animals and making new exhibits, place is looking real nice!
Great experience during Covid visit on a weekday morning. Zoo personal doing their best to implement mask policies when groups start to form. Felt very safe and will be back!
This zoo was so amazing .. I was there from 11 o'clock in the morning to the closing time .and still I wasn't done finding new animals that I wanted to see. My family was so.impressed in how perfessional and kind the staff were .. they answered all of our questions and helped us understand the beauty of nature .. over all it was just a great experience! 5 stars all the way
The enterance and the first exibits I visited were beautiful, leading to the only problem I seen, the Giraffe feeding. We are allowed to feed the giraffes, but not allowed to touch them. This doesn't seem like a too big of a problem, until you have many children in the feeding area being yelled at from staff not to touch them Every time they hold their hand out. If giraffes are so dangerous that they can break your hand in one hit with their head, why couldn't they have us pay to feed another less dangerous animal. Staff should not have to yell at children to not touch the giraffes from across the exibit. The feeding area should be closed and the giraffes should only be looked at from a view like all the other animals.
Very clean, a lot of staff to answer questions & a great place to spend my birthday!
It was a fun visit. Nice zoo, clean and the food court went quick even when you could tell it was busy. The street dog was very good, worth the 4.50. The staff was friendly and answered questions with smiles. The bathrooms I give 3 stars though.
Great place but do not expect this to be cheap, buying a water in here can total up to 2 dollars.
Had a blast at the zoo. Kids loved feeding the giraffes.
It is a very nice place to have fun and it is fun for the whole family.
So much fun I love all the new things going on here!
We love Our Zoo. We attend about 3 to 4 times a year. This last time we noticed no directions for zoo talks, not enough signs directing where animal areas are!!
Have not been here in over 30 years. My mom wanted to go and I was more than happy to take her, just like she used to bring me when I was a child. Bought tickets for breakfast with the animals. It was fun and lots of people. So many changes from over 30 years ago. We enjoyed ourselves.
Really cool place. Awesome exhibits and a great place to bring children.
I was very surprised. The only reason I put 4 stars in stead of 5 is because there is absolutely no smoking on the property. Even Disneyland has designated smoking areas.
They have very nice animals. It's very clean. They have a cafe that is the best food ever.
Zoo is possibly the only thing to do in Fresno. Good thing it's pretty nice and pretty damn cheap. Got a day to kill may as well check it out. I still hate Fresno though....
I was very impressed by the quality of the exhibits and the cleanliness of the zoo in general. A lot of the animals were active when we visited, which made our visit so worthwhile. And the food is great too!
When I went none of the bathrooms worked and I didn't see a sign before you pay nor did an employee tell anyone about this problem but yet they still want your money
My kids and I had a wonderful time at the zoo today! Very nice staff and it's clean around the park.
Summer is a little hot, but there's a little place for kids to get wet and cool off. We love this park it's clean, price is reasonable, park is getting better all the time.
Amazing place, love how theyre trying to extend it to give the animals more capacity to roam around, u might find the food expensive, but i know it must not be cheap to feed every single animal.
Love our zoo have a membership so we
Can visit anytime we want
We don't have to go to San Diego for an awesome zoo. Fun place for the whole family and awesome food and music to kick back to while transporting ones self to Africa!
We took our grandson to this zoo and thought it was a very nice one to visit. I grew up in San Diego and I would have to say this is my second favorite zoo out of the several that I've been to over the years. We recommend visiting the Watering Hole in the African habitat. It is so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed a healthy lunch that they offer inside at their grill for a reasonable price and watched the animals. A must see and we will definitely be going back.
My daughter and I love animals. This Zoo has come along way and the improvements keep getting better.
The animals also look semi free since there is so much space in that enclosure. I also love the events they have.
I always love going to the Zoo. On this particular day the animals were moving around a lot. The Zoo has a few new exhibits coming up. So stay tuned to see what new things you might see.
Excellent place to come chill with your dogs they have three different and inclosures they also have a little fountain for the dogs in case you forget your water pretty good spot and keep them on a leash and you can walk the whole park
Very fun experience. Loved how big the Zoo was. Loved feeding the giraffes & touching the stingrays. Would highly recommend buying the Combo pass that way you don't pay extra. Definelty will be back!
The Zoo has added new animals and new upgrades and added new exhibits. The African animal exhibit is comparable to the San Diego Zoo exhibit, if not better.
What an amazing job Chaffee has been doing in creating beautiful, natural looking spaces. And as usual, it's wonderful to see some of these creatures... a poor man's photo Safari... that otherwise one can only see on screens or pages. Add to that the knowledge shared by the docents and other zoo staff and it makes an amazing outing. And to top it all off, the work done by zoos saving the last survivors of some species is invaluable.
Its a great zoo seems like the city should give them more land for a better facility and it felt a little empty since some exhibits were closed and being replaced, but the dinosaur section was great my wife and kids loved it.
Big zoo and spectacular, many different types of animals
Amazing zoo. Ever since Scott took over, it s skyrocketing into an awesome zoo, simply put. I love going here. The membership is SO worth it! Kudos
We love the zoo. Staff is friendly and the animals are so fun to see. They do a great job at conservation and education.
This was the first time at the Fresno Zoo. I was impressed they had riding carts for the disabled because there was no was I could have done it in my wheel chair. It was an amazing experience with my family. I like it better than the Sacramento Zoo.
Great zoo. New additions are great and still very affordable.
The family was exited to see the animals up close and learn new things about them. All the habitats and eco system they enhabit.
Lots of construction for new animal enclosure. Did a good job directing visitors around the construction. Ok to bring your own food in. Plenty of space to sit and eat.
Ten times better than the last time I visited. Entry fee is great, money well spent
This is an amazing zoo. I, like many others, grew up when it was slightly shabby and perpetually struggling until the early 2000s; now, it is THE jewel of the Central Valley. With exhibits in both Spanish and English, a cheap entry fare, and an intimate setting coupled with the gorgeous Safari half, the Chaffee Zoo is absolutely the star of any casual tour of Fresno.
If you are a resident, purchase the yearly membership -- it more than pays for itself if you visit more than twice a year. The community and heart behind it is bigger than any nationally-recognized zoo.
Great family fun place, we could easily spend all day at this zoo.
Love Love Love Fresno Chaffee Zoo!!! And being a zoo member!!!!
Loved it!!they have this thing called the early bird special highly recommended it s basically a private zoo tour. Ain t nobody their but you and the zoo guide.
The zoo is so fun you can like at animal that you have not seen u can see the animals so up close
No complaints! Evenings on the Savannah was perfect
Have loved going since I was a child! I still enjoy it just as much as ever and have such sweet memories of Nosey, and reaching out to feed her raisin bread in the early 1960's. Such a sweet and gentle creature.
