It was just to hot lol. They should have missters around to cool off . I couldn't find a couple places that i paid for I just got a little sick from the heat . I had to sit down for a min. They should have a couple of staff checking on ppl my age to see if their ok. I couldn't find the exit for a min. there went in circles cause of the way I was feeling. Just suggestion .

I drive the two hours from Stockton to come to this zoo instead of any of the several that are closer to us because it's amazing!

They have the Stingray bay where unlike other places, you can actually feed them! It's 1 dollar for a cup of little fish and they come right up to you and eat from your hand!
You can also feed the giraffes which seems to what the younger kids really enjoy.
I haven't been through it but they have the Kanga walk as well.

My personal fave is the big cats which there is no shortage of. They have tons of room to run around and do lion, and tiger stuff!

Overall it's a really cool place and worth the visit for sure.

This zoo was so amazing .. I was there from 11 o'clock in the morning to the closing time .and still I wasn't done finding new animals that I wanted to see. My family was so.impressed in how perfessional and kind the staff were .. they answered all of our questions and helped us understand the beauty of nature .. over all it was just a great experience! 5 stars all the way

The enterance and the first exibits I visited were beautiful, leading to the only problem I seen, the Giraffe feeding. We are allowed to feed the giraffes, but not allowed to touch them. This doesn't seem like a too big of a problem, until you have many children in the feeding area being yelled at from staff not to touch them Every time they hold their hand out. If giraffes are so dangerous that they can break your hand in one hit with their head, why couldn't they have us pay to feed another less dangerous animal. Staff should not have to yell at children to not touch the giraffes from across the exibit. The feeding area should be closed and the giraffes should only be looked at from a view like all the other animals.

It was a fun visit. Nice zoo, clean and the food court went quick even when you could tell it was busy. The street dog was very good, worth the 4.50. The staff was friendly and answered questions with smiles. The bathrooms I give 3 stars though.

Have not been here in over 30 years. My mom wanted to go and I was more than happy to take her, just like she used to bring me when I was a child. Bought tickets for breakfast with the animals. It was fun and lots of people. So many changes from over 30 years ago. We enjoyed ourselves.

I was very impressed by the quality of the exhibits and the cleanliness of the zoo in general. A lot of the animals were active when we visited, which made our visit so worthwhile. And the food is great too!

Amazing place, love how theyre trying to extend it to give the animals more capacity to roam around, u might find the food expensive, but i know it must not be cheap to feed every single animal.

We took our grandson to this zoo and thought it was a very nice one to visit. I grew up in San Diego and I would have to say this is my second favorite zoo out of the several that I've been to over the years. We recommend visiting the Watering Hole in the African habitat. It is so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed a healthy lunch that they offer inside at their grill for a reasonable price and watched the animals. A must see and we will definitely be going back.

I always love going to the Zoo. On this particular day the animals were moving around a lot. The Zoo has a few new exhibits coming up. So stay tuned to see what new things you might see.

What an amazing job Chaffee has been doing in creating beautiful, natural looking spaces. And as usual, it's wonderful to see some of these creatures... a poor man's photo Safari... that otherwise one can only see on screens or pages. Add to that the knowledge shared by the docents and other zoo staff and it makes an amazing outing. And to top it all off, the work done by zoos saving the last survivors of some species is invaluable.

Its a great zoo seems like the city should give them more land for a better facility and it felt a little empty since some exhibits were closed and being replaced, but the dinosaur section was great my wife and kids loved it.

This was the first time at the Fresno Zoo. I was impressed they had riding carts for the disabled because there was no was I could have done it in my wheel chair. It was an amazing experience with my family. I like it better than the Sacramento Zoo.

This is an amazing zoo. I, like many others, grew up when it was slightly shabby and perpetually struggling until the early 2000s; now, it is THE jewel of the Central Valley. With exhibits in both Spanish and English, a cheap entry fare, and an intimate setting coupled with the gorgeous Safari half, the Chaffee Zoo is absolutely the star of any casual tour of Fresno.

If you are a resident, purchase the yearly membership -- it more than pays for itself if you visit more than twice a year. The community and heart behind it is bigger than any nationally-recognized zoo.

Have loved going since I was a child! I still enjoy it just as much as ever and have such sweet memories of Nosey, and reaching out to feed her raisin bread in the early 1960's. Such a sweet and gentle creature.
