Excellent local theatre experience. We saw E.M. Forster s The Machine Stops here in one of the theatre s last performances. The production was inventive and clever, and the performances were top-notch. Very impressive.
This past Saturday evening, my husband and I purchased a ticket for $75.00 for the drive-in show. It was expensive but we have always enjoyed Free Fall's outdoor and indoor shows, so we were excited for the evening. The idea of creating an outdoor drive-in during this pandemic was ingenuous. I was intrigued and excited for the evening. I am sad to say it was a complete waste of my time and most definitely our hard-earned money. The opening act was nothing more than music piped through my radio. I could do that at home for free. Once the show began, it was a good idea. Thinking outside the box and using resources to provide entertainment via this means was great, but sadly the storyline was awful with no comedic elements. The musical numerous were good but watching Patti eat was simply insufferable! At that point, we had to leave. The writing of this show was terrible. We are very disappointed with this show. After experiencing excellent programming at Free Fall, what a shame!
Nothing compares to the thrill of life performances. I mean streaming was ok for 3 months, maybe 6 months but I am starving for life performance. The Bernstein program at freefall was the first step for me where the chrysalis is about to create a beautiful butterfly. I loved seeing two people on stage performing I can't wait for more.
We have always enjoyed quality of performances and give credit to ingenuity in these times But this showshow was horrible and gross watching a large woman stuffing her face with pizza!! Singing was tolerable but the writing was far from enjoyable!!
Great time at the small theater. They did a wonderful job on the performance of ever story for Christmas ever told. Great actors and actress!!! We laughed for two hours with this play. Was so much fun!
I first stumbled on this Christmas Eve! I took scaring turn and saw these lights and people sitting in their car. Curiosity got the better of me and I made a U-turn.. I found a spot off if 1st Ave S and parked on the far side of the rode..I was not disappointed it was worth getting lost..If you have a chance GO! P.s. I be been back again and WOW!!!!
freeFall has always exceeded my expectations over the years. A great mix of plays, musicals and world premieres, freeFall presents the most varied seasons in Tampa Bay. The new pandemic programming (in freeFall s drive-in space) is an exciting alternative to virtual programming. Great to see live performance from the safety and comfort of my own car. Thanks, freeFall!!
